    Hi Ollie.
    What an awesome model 👍 You really need some buffers on your locomotive seat! Once it's received a lick of paint the wagon will look amazing 👌
    Stay safe mate, kind regards GWR

      I have the buffers but not had time to fit them! Glad you enjoyed mate!

    Great models and interesting Video. The website for 3dprollingstock says down for maintenance but also says that the web shop is now closed. Do you know if they are stopping production of these kits?

      hi mate he is no longer making wagons but the STL files will be available for purchase for those who have 3D printers!

    I missed the start because of other notifications not letting it through but I watched the post here! Very good, Ollie. I was wary of the plastic wheels, maybe need a copper/steel band for the flanges but they did alright and it's not as if they'll be hauling heavy weights much. A new future for 5" gauge rolling stock. Nice one. Excellent build. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Cheers mate!

      Thanks Flymo! Im hoping the wheels will stand the test of time but we will have to see!

    I love this! I’ve just started in 5 inch gauge so will be needing some stock to pull.

      Glad you enjoyed! Lots more 5” gauge content on the way over the summer

    When you stick two parts using dowels, drill a small hole into the base of the dowel hole, (in a hidden place), to let air out when you press the parts together. this ensures that the pressure at the bottom of the dowel-hole does not push the adhesive out, or push the parts apart.

    • @WardleRestorations
      @WardleRestorations  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh I didn’t think of that! I thought that having loads of space behind the dowel would prevent that from happening!!

    • @nlo114
      @nlo114 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WardleRestorations If the adhesive is a thin slow-setting type, there could be sufficient pressure to exude the glue. Obviously this would not happen if the hole was veerry long, or open at the other end.

      Will bare that in mind for the next kit thank you

    That’s a great wagon! Massive compared to tabletop scales. Did you put any extra weight in it?

    Nice one Ollie...very enjoyable..and cheaper than most OO gauge loco's. The shape of things to come maybe? All the best.

    Hey Ollie,
    Looks like an excellent wagon and nice to see the construction process too. I've been following their progress since they released the gunpowder wagon and looking forward to seeing what else they produce; hopefully some narrow gauge prototypes in 5 inch! I'm currently finishing up 3 slate wagons for 5 inch gauge.
    Just a suggestion on improving the look of the wagon; a bit of filler or epoxy putty to fill the gaps between the joins of the parts with a bit of sanding to finish would take it to the next level.
    Look forward to more to come!
    Take care man.

      what a lovely comment with lots of kind words! thank you so much! Would love to see some of the slate wagons! And agreed I think a bit of filler would finish it off nicely! All the best mate

    Really cool work by 3Dp, Ollie. The wheels are hard plastic or metal? If plastic, are you worried about them wearing out faster? Great video!

    • @WardleRestorations
      @WardleRestorations  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes they are hard plastic however after several hours of running there were no signs of wear at all!

    Hey Ollie, sorry I missed the premier due a very strange phenomenon called work lol. First week back after what seems forever. A great piece of rolling stock, it's hard to believe it's been printed wow !!!! You will soon need your own loco shed to store your stock lol. Another great video Ollie thanks for showing it, your a star :) :) :) Take care stay safe.

      Thanks as always for the continued support mate, its appreciated! Yeh might have to get a shed just for the 5" gauge haha! Stay safe mate hopefully see you in future premieres so you can try out the new emojis!

    Hi ya Ollie, that was great. It looked like a fairly straight forward, easy build. I’m assuming this company produces other wagons as well. Very cool. Pretty reasonably priced. Will you be painting weathering these two when completely built? That will be fun. I look forward to seeing them run. Bye.

    • @WardleRestorations
      @WardleRestorations  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeh Norman they have a great selection of wagons to choose from and very well priced too! Will get them painted up very soon

    Very good . Would this cope coupled to a loco then a riding car for a raised track ?

    • @WardleRestorations
      @WardleRestorations  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Rick Parsons I will test theory on ground track next time I’m there, il put it between my loco and the carriage and see how it does!

  • @TarolinSchofield

    If not metal wheels wont they wear quite a lot on steel track ? Just wondering :)

    • @WardleRestorations
      @WardleRestorations  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think if that was the case I could always add a metal strip or something to the wheel however after many hours of running there’s been no wear at all! Yet...

  • @Oorail
    @Oorail 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Cool.. that should be pretty easy to do with a CR-10 S5... The tricky part is 3D printing locos in OO. We are almost there, I think you'll see fully 3D printed OO gauge locos later this year from our project. I think our trackside3d.co.uk point machines might actually scale up to 5" gauge.. :)

    • @WardleRestorations
      @WardleRestorations  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That would be cool!

    • @Oorail
      @Oorail 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WardleRestorations Definitely, especially at a cost of about 2p per gram, it will really make model railways more affordable. We've been working on this since 2018, we've scaled up from a pair 3D printers up to over 20, its almost there :)
