Looking forward even more to our trip ✈️ to Madeira 🏝️ 1st wk september thanks to you. You are saving me time⏳ hunting for ideas on what to do. Maybe we'll see you around. Well shot 🎥 and edited too. Congrats 👏 P. S. I'm a Brit🇬🇧 leaving in France 🇫🇷 for the past 35 yrs - so I really get the urge to live elsewhere!
That is a clock tower in São Vicente, built so that the local farmers could regulate their watering schedule from the lavadas.. On the decent to São Vicente you will see a famous Madeira landmark, a white clock tower, high above the town. This was used by local hill farmers to keep an eye on the time.
Visited some of thesenplaces when we did a fuided jeep tour. Went along the north west coast and various off road type places. Thw weather was varied as is often the case but would xhangw ine view piint or village to the next. I'm sure having your vike makes getting to some of the less popular and more isolated places easily. We were either on public transport or with a guide bit certainly got a small taster of the varied landscape. Excellent as always 😀
Just saw video and being from Achadas da Cruz. Spending a night at the bottom is really the best... Sunsets ever and star gazing is the best speaking with experience it's magical . The reason for having some agriculture down at Calhau is because during winter it is cold on top and therefore a few basic vegetables are grown down at Calhau..
Thanks Joe ☺ I remember seeing this video on your other channel so why not watch it again?! Did you know they've introduced a €2 charge to enter Cabo Girão since April 2023? When I visited Achadas das Cruz there were some pretty young women sunbathing topless when I was parking up & they made no effort to hide their modesty! 😉 What drone were you using by the way? Hope you're enjoying your cruise as I'm enjoying seeing your story from it! Also because I don't seem to be getting notifications when you reply to me, so please hit the "heart" button when you do reply, then I can see it. Have an amazing weekend my friend 🤗
Thanks @@TheJoeyP😊 I've that one too but prefer to fly my DJI Air 2S as it can handle wind far better & the image quality is superior. I only just got myself registered as a drone operator within the EU just before my recent trip to Madeira as I thought it best to be legal!
That church was built by women's, when their husband's went to war...they promised if they come back, they will built it....they come back and as promised they build it by hand...amazing
@@TheJoeyP Well with the weather hovering around 70's these days, ocean is a bit cool but there are many swimming in the ocean and you quickly acclimate to it . Trust me it's nothing like Thailand ocean temp where it is actually warm to get in.
@@brucewayne2773 ah it is pretty similar then! Madeira is sub tropical so anywhere between 15-30 C is normal almost all year around (usually at the higher end).
Hawaii's southernmost tip is at Latitude 18.9° (Tropic of Cancer is at 23°) Madeira's southernmost tip is at 32.6°. So that's quite a big difference. Nonetheless it's still very warm, especially in the south-west coast of Madeira. In winter months It's around 21°C (70°F), and in Funchal as well, maybe even warmer due to the heat island effect (North coast is about 19°C). But in summer, temperatures are much more comfortable than in Hawaii. Reaching around 27°C (80°F). I lived in central Europe for 17 years, so anything above 15°C feels like summer to me, especially on Madeira because the sun is very strong and humidity is very high. The reason why many people compare Madeira to Hawaii is the fact that both archipelago's are shield volcanoes over 5 million years old. The biggest problem is that living in Hawaii is unaffordable & and locals don't like tourists, it's also waaay to far and very isolated. Madeira is only an hour and a half away from Lisbon, Portugal (Mainland Europe). But I would love to visit Hawaii one day, especially Kauai, it's one of the most beautiful places in the world.
@@thevirtualrelaxation Thank you for sharing your knowledge of Madeira. I have been to Hawaii many times since it's only a 4 hour flight from California. It's a quick get away for us. Yes Kauai is beautiful .

yeah, I mean a car really does make a big difference but the tours can be great too and the public transport is underrated

Indeed beautiful , however water and weather is most likely not as warm as Hawaii though.
