Hello!!! Luv luv luv this boat!!! I just ordered study plans and am planning a fall start on the build. Looking forward to the spirited sailing on Colorado area lakes and maybe a week long cruise to the Great Lakes or maybe South to the Gulf. Thank you for posting this vid!!
Quite fast! Do you feel safe at stronger winds? Or do you have to reef very early? Stability OK? I love that boat... perhaps i order plans of Cape May.
Hi Georg, the Cape May would be a great boat. The Cape Henry feels very safe in stronger winds. Happy to discuss more with you, might be best to email me . ch21sealion@gmail.com
That boat has dreadful weather helm. It needs more headsail and more reefing in the mainsail. It probably needs a better rudder too. They are nice looking boats, but could be improved. 9 knots is good !
Yes there is pretty bad weather helm in this video. Another reef in the main would have helped. Also the main was too full and has been re cut. These boats do need attention paid to how much sail is carried for the conditions.
@guybenett4571 the boat was very new to me then. I have now fitted a furling / reefing headsail and would have 2 reefs in the main in those conditions. Helm is very light with the 2 reefs.
The sound of the wind and the water, the best way to make a sailing video. Beautiful.
Your boat is AWESOME This is where I'm starting.
Well done! Looks solid, dry, and confidence-inspiring.
This is better sailing video than most channels with thousands of followers ever make. Feel like I learned so much just from watching.
Thanks Thomas. These videos are to show the boat to other builders and people interested in the design, they are not meant to be about me!

I love the boat also, glad you like the video. We have a google group for Cape Henry 21 builders and owners you might like to join. Cheers Ron
Love the video...Im currently cruising a 1980 Victoria 18 but hope to own a Henry 21 some day!
You should have taken so more ballast along. As in 2 more people. I wish we had boat like that here in Canada.
Yes, some live ballast would be good. There is one of these boats in Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia.

👍👏👏
It would be much better with one (or two) reef in the main sail, which is useless most of the time.
