Rajon Rondo Tip-off Ritual/Mucking Around

  • Rajon Rondo mucks around at the tip-off at the start of some games, he might play around with the ball or dribbles it fancily. Perhaps he does this to entertain the audience or maybe it's a ritual.
    All video footage belongs to NBA. No copyright intended.
    Rajon Rondo has torn his ACL, lets all hope he gets well soon!

      Bro it's tip off... Most people don't care if u do that to start the game... U really think a coach will take u out if u do what rondo does at the BEGINNING OF A GAME? Wth? There's a reason why you're the starting PG.

      I think so, but I'm not sure. Although, if it isn't, some refs don't care because of respect and they know it's a person's ritual. Like, think of Dutumbo with his finger wag after a block, or Serge doing the thumbs down. They get away with it because they've done it so much and it's a part of their persona. Do you remember when MJ finally got a dunk on Dutumbo and when he did, MJ did the finger wag and got a technical? It's kinda the same thing.

    steve nash at age 36 lead the 2010 and 2011 seasons in assists with his phoenix suns team... Last season nash averaged 10.7 assists at age 38 with the best scorer on his team being Marcin Gortat... he turned Gortat (someone who averaged 4ppg) into a solid center. Rondo averaged 11.7 assists at age 26 with Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen on his team. I'm not denying that rondo is a great passer. But in my opinion, I prefer Nash.

  • @BostonCelticsfan21
    @BostonCelticsfan21 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Rondo can score, that's all that matters, doesn't matter if he shoots it or gets to the rim, if he scores, it has the same effect at a 2 point jump shot.

    It wasn't really about Rondo's attitude, Ray left because he thought he wasn't getting utilized enough so he had a rocky relationship with Rondo which Doc Rivers took the blame for (telling and making plays for rondo). The fact that Ray also lost his starting position to Bradley and that probably also contributed to him leaving.

      @@MichaelBchicago Seriously, no. There's no rule on number of steps between bounces, height of bounce, or bounces between dribbles. So long as you don't gather it up (which includes carry), it's dribbling. Everything here is perfectly legal, and a showcase of how intuitive the rules are to these guys.

    He does that to test the grip and elasticity of the ball. He said it once.

    He averages an enormous count of turnovers for a PG that often come off from bad decisions. But he is still new to the game so I guess he will become better.
