She is great, but I'll argue the best thing about Discovery is it led to other amazing Trek happening--specifically Strange New Worlds and Picard Season 3.
Couldn’t agree more, it’s a great show but her character is the best I think she’s my favorite.
First time hearing her speak in the real world, and she reminds me of Angela Bassett the way she looks and speaks. I never got back to Star Trek Discovery (don't use the acronym for that) after the first season, going to try to pick it up again.
Discovery is my favorite Trek show right alongside DS9. I definitely recommend giving it another chance!

I am sorry to hear that. In my humble opinion, Discovery is Star Trek 100%, groundbreaking and chalenging as The Original Series was in the '60s.

I agree with you that Discovery is Star Trek 100% and it is challenging and maybe groundbreaking. And, I will watch every episode. It is my least favorite Star Trek series. I love them all, more or less. Any Star Trek is better than any other show or movie, of any kind. But, Discovery is too dark, too humorless, too sexless, to make it the escape that I want from Star Trek. There are other franchises that do that kind of thing much better, e.g. The Expanse. But, that's all ok. It's all in the spectrum. Jolan tru.

Given the big step-up in quality from DS9 to Discovery, Picard and Strange New Worlds, I think Trek will survive and thrive for many years to come. Can't get enough.
I sure hope so, I can't get enough Trek, even Lower Decks, it's become one of my fall to sleep shows on rotation with Futurama and a couple other cartoons.

I've been a Trekker since there was just TOS reruns and the first animated series. EVERY SINGLE Trek since the first had a sizable number of alleged fans completely lose their s##t and complain about how bad it was. Every single one.
One of the core values of the show has always been tolerance for each other's differences. Something these alleged devotees seem to forget.

That's the way I remember Star Trek conventions in the TNG era and earlier, and even the Nashville _Fan Fair_ in 1985. The ComiCon / FanExpo I went to in 2015 had me appalled with how you had to pay (high prices) for a photo opportunity with any of the actors. And they certainly don't mingle.
