- I've been camping for over 30 years and this is my basic camp kitchen that I pack for car camping, family camping, or anytime I'm off-grid. Depending on the trip I may add or remove a few things, but most of the time this has everything you need and more. You don't need to break the bank to set yourself up well, a lot of these items are already in your kitchen at home.

The leather gloves for cast iron pans is such a great tip!
Makes me want to reserve a camp spot for a few days. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for the feedback!
Love the pasta pot for dishes!
Great and informative video to help a newbie. I think I need to repack my chuck box and take out the kitchen sink, washing machine, rug and sofa.🤔
Great setup! Everything does it's job and doesn't cost a lot. I like the gas stove better than propane, but to each their own.
Such a great set up!! thanks for some great ideas for a great camp kitchen!
Sensible setup, and simple. Thanks!
Great informative straight to the point video.
The good ole Coleman. Indestructible really.
Definitely - but I’m a little strange… I like the smell of fuel.
3mins in I already subbed. I like how you think and organise, a man after my own heart. Keep up the content.
Thanks!
💯%. Grabbed a bunch of stainless steel spoons, knives and forks for free at the local thrift store dumpster. Soaked for a bit in bleach and are a Winner winner to eat a chicken dinner.
I should have not watched this video. Now I want to go camping so bad. Lots of great tips! Thanks!
Nice setup!!

Welding glass are really good too
Good Job Man
Hi Kane, nice system! Great video also, lots of information, right to the point.
Lately I've been doing a lot of tent/car camping with the family and we have a very similar kitchen system. We use old regular plates/fork/knives, plastic plates, old regular sauce pot and cast iron pan. For coffee we have insulated mugs, the cheap ones, no brand name. Wine metal glasses and corkscrew (very important). I have also a Coleman stove and a plastic collapsible sink. And our most expensive item is a nice big cooler (our fridge). Cooking is one of the things we enjoy the most while camping (and before camping, all the prep).
What are your favorite recipes/meals? Have you ever used those portable grill/fire pits?
GTF Outside!
Hi Carlos, thanks for the feedback!
100% Agree - especially the corkscrew. I've learned the hard way about that & always have one now but try to make sure we bring screw cap wine. It's just easier.
No reason to buy camping specific cookware unless it solves a real issue. I can't stand weird little cutlery. I'd also rather use real cookware and not worry about the handle falling off!
I haven't used portable fire pits, but it's on my list to try. I have some ideas for basic recipe videos - I keep that pretty simple too.
Where are you based? hahah GTF Outside!
Mmmm not sure what the boy was eating but that CRUNCH sold me
I have camp french fries down to an art!
White gas has an advantage over propane in that it works fine in freezing temperature.
Hello, loving this video. I am digging the yellow cutlery bag - do you possibly have a link?
Try this link: a.co/d/4em4xjQ or search “2PCS Small Portable Tool Bag Tool Can-vas Storage Bag Multifunctional Clip-on Zipper Tool Bag Multi-Purpose Storage Organizer Zipper Bag” on amazon
I miss my Coleman two burner, someone else must have too 😭 They stole my stove and my power tools but left much more expensive stuff behind. Criminals on drugs don't think things out. 😵
Just curious about your yellow cutlery bag. Any idea if you have the link off amazon? Most of the ones online googling that I find are Dyneema and therefore quite expensive.
Search Amazon for “small portable tool bag canvas”. The one I got is in a two pack for 15$. Dyneema is definitely overkill!
Thanks so much. Found them. Love your videos. Keep them coming!!!
Amen about the dishes... ugh! We use paper plates and then burn them... sooo easy!
Any idea where you picked up that metal spatula?
My wife got it for me after I left one in an Air BnB. Must have been amazon, look up griddle spatula ✌
@@KaneDoesOutdoors Sweet thanks man!
Oxo brand spatula, I picked one up at a thrift store and it’s by far my favorite spatula I’ve owned
What size plastic tote to carry it all?
66qt/62L. It’s about 26” L x 16” W x 12 “ H
Bought a fire retardant glove fr Amazon
Pass-ta pot?????😂😂😂
Huh?
We haven't heard pasta pronounced like that before :D @@KaneDoesOutdoors
Ahahaha I’m originally from Quebec and speak french fluently even though my first language is English. I think we accentuate our vowels differently.
Stop using metal spatula on cast iron!! You're damaging it.
You can sandblast cast iron without damaging it. Literally. My father would get old cast iron sandblasted before repainting it. Zero issue. Scraping hard steel with soft steel does nothing.
Not damaging it at all. Best tool for it, really. I'm a chef.
Yes, it does damage. You are removing the seasoning of the cast iron. Argue all you want, but you are damaging it. I hope you don't wash it in soap either.
You have no clue what you’re talking about. Metal tools and soap is fine for cast iron if properly seasoned. There’s a reason cast iron lasts forever - they are extremely durable
Honey, I have used metal spatulas and steel wool on my CI for 50 years, never have I scraped my seasoning off. As for soapy water to wash it...I admit I didn't used to, but recently I found out it's the old soaps you shouldn't use, modern soaps don't have lye or something in them, so it's quite safe for them.
Paper plates... are you kidding me... you would think people who camp understand the importance of a small footprint not cutting down trees so your hands don't get wet.
What kind of vehicle do you drive? How many times a year do you take a plane? I could go on and on. Couple of paper plates ain’t gonna change the world.
I was camping solo with my two boys most of the time last year, so I’ll take anything that makes my life easier. The goal is to get out and get them having fun to develop an interest. We can worry about hugging trees and environmental impact audits later.
@@KaneDoesOutdoorspaper plates are made with recycled paper products. The commenter doesn’t know what he’s talking about.
That and you can plant a new tree.
A true camper would not say that about paper plates. And if you are, you probably don’t even have camp fires😂
Sorry still use my grandfather’s enamal plates and mugs, paper plates fire lighters.i put 3 5litre bottles in an esky behind my front seats when iI camp you have to bring in your own drinking water.
