    I'm not saying i'm a drone expert but i have built a couple. The first noticeable problem is how your motors are situated, the rectangular setup is a horrible idea (especially if you plan on adding more motors. You should be aiming for a more square/hexagonal/octagonal shape) that is my prediction for why it seems to be constantly tipping back and forth. From a software point of view it comes down to the flight controller and software which i don't know what exactly you are using. But my prediction is if you are using beta flight the drone configuration that is the default is the square/rhombus like setup. As I said i'm no expert and take my word for what it is but you should of definitely thought out the motor positioning more. I love your content and cant wait for the next video. P.S. please like the comment to JLaser can see it. Thx
    Edit: if you aren't using a flight controller use one, and if it doesn't have a gyroscope thats another reason its not stabilizing

      He is using a DJI Naza M V2 (Atleast i think). Its an old FC from like 2011 that has GPS and altitude hold and RTH and support to up to 8 motors. I have worked with it before and can say its not very suitable for a large drone like that one.

    You should connect your drone to betaflight and blheli and tune the drone. It will help stabilize the drone.

    Software related... Probably the PID tuning, Joshua bardwell king of PID tuning. That thing is pretty much like an oversized x classed drone, Lol as if x class wasn't big enough. that "prop guard" isn't going to protect the props, if it actually makes contact it's just gonna get torn to shreds

  • @CreatingCreations

    Kinda looks like your propellers are leaning slightly different directions. Great video though!

  • @shaqalito8740
    @shaqalito8740 5 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    You need to change your PID's on beta flight. Try P 65 I 65 D 55 then make quick flights to see how the drone reacts and change te PID's until it doesn't overcompensate anymore but be careful to not make it undercompensate too because if so it can bdjsnwbsjds and BOOM too. I can't really explain how the PID system works i just understand it so move the PID's try different things and see how it goes. Also watch tutos on youtube it helps a lot. So good luck ! Peace and sushi

    @AKRASNOVV 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Seems like you'll need to properly tune PID values. In GENERAL, PID values refer to how motors behave, how do they accelerate and decelerate. But it's more complicated than that. Google or ask friends who are into drone racing to help you out with that. Also you can tune ESCs to reach better stability.

    Re balance the weight, reduce the frame to is minimum by curving or made a triangular angle for it in a boat shape* so all the weight is put in one central area and watch if you can give a angle downward in the frame so wen you "brake"your drone don't flip back or try to spin. (Think of a large kayak not covered but with a large V shape base... Or flip the helmet of pyramid head from silent hill...)

    a problem could be down to centre of gravity... if the weight of the electrical components are heavier on one side then it will be harder for the electronics to stable the drone. therefore making it over correct itself. i think its just guess and check here but that could be a contributing factor on why its unstable. good to see you back man, love the vids :)

    you gennerally have to use some vibration damppeners beacause of sheer amount of the vibrations from the motors spinning and that aluminium frame just shares its vibrations to the flight controller , also maybe keep those flight controller in a box with some vibration damppeners and nuts to protect it and fix it in place ,, or else your pids will go nuts ,, also even the slightest of vibrations effect the gyro ,, also if u keep the elctronics near fc the magnetic fluctuation may effect the pids ,, gennerally the pids over react when they are not in the air so it can be an issue sometimes

  • @averyphillips4703
    @averyphillips4703 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    this isn't super important but you should consider making some kind of landing gear. currently it is landing on single corners which can't be good for the frame. it might save you some time in the future. (they could also be used to add weights to corners of the drone for a more mechanical tuning method)

    Welcome back! And congrats on getting the drone to fly! Like you said in the video, you're going to need to add more to the drone to give it the ability to carry a human. I do have a concern for a small portion of the framework; 3:17, the far left arm seems to be slightly warped. Obviously it didn't noticeably impede the drone's performance, but adding more weight to it... who knows what'll happen. Like Peter Scripol said, these things are powered lift vehicles. Something happens, you're going down. Keep up the work, I doubt you're going to fail at all.

  • @paulbergin4239
    @paulbergin4239 ปีที่แล้ว

    I noticed there was still flex in the frame in this footage. Any flex in the frame will put the props out of alignment which will have the drone going all over the place... The frame has to to be proper stiff to start with. The rest was a tune required on your PID's you could see resonance in this footage.. Does the flight controller have selectable flight modes? were you in stabilize mode or a sport mode? You can set the modes up and tune this out to make it fly well, there's heaps of stuff on utube about tuning the PID's for any controller... just hook the controller up to a computer or tablet with the maker's software and follow tuning instructions on utube.
