You need to retry the cushion foundation with tapping the product on to your face instead of rubbing it. You'll get much better coverage and waste a lot less product.
I totally feel you about the packaging on the wet n wild cushion, but I did just want to let you know there *is* a mirror, you just need to pull the protective film off of the compact. It's a surprisingly nice mirror, I use it a lot! I don't use the sponge that was included in the foundation, I use my real techniques sponge instead because I'm like you with feeling uncomfortable with the sanitary issue of having it sit in the compact.

It is the ultra black! It is definitely black -- I was just comparing it to the NYX epic ink which is verrrrry black, so it's not as dark or harsh. I love it.

I need to try out the Elf shimmer highlight in sunset and brow pencil. The Physicians Formula healthy skin foundation sounds promising. I really want to try Burts Bees blushes and lipstick. Do you think the highlight in sunset could used as an inner corner highlight? I think I would rather use a disposable sponge.
Disclaimer: I am dry as the desert. My skin care has to be on point for the wet n wild cushion. I just use a beauty blender sponge. Hate the pkging. But when it works I love it. I am gonna try it in the summer when I am just dry and not Sahara dry lol. Elf is almost all vegan, the $1 white handled brushes are animal hair, but other than that its vegan. I have several holy grail products from elf. I do like the brow pencil alot , but colourpop skinny brow pencil is bae. I found my top 3 highlighters long ago, they are all indie, so I dont go out of my way to look anymore. XO Davita

I actually wasn't the biggest fan of the colourpop skinny brow pencil but again I'm soooo picky with the color so I think that has a lot to do with it. Good to know about the elf brushes!

For the face I'm currently using Coola and I LOVE it. This is the one I use: bit.ly/2sKXyFp it actually smoothes out my pores so I love it before makeup.

Also try using a beauty blender or any other makeup sponge! And sponges that companies provide inside their products are TRASH, i always toss them
