    What makes Pepe's interpretations so great is that he takes his time with the music, really digging into its emotional essence. So many people just want to be flashy, they miss the point of the piece!

      This is the first time I’ve heard this song where you can actually hear every note in the first few bars instead, to use the word you use, a flashy, my words blurry mess of the notes. The pieces carries so much more played like this. He’s a master for a reason.

    • @Za7a7aZ
      @Za7a7aZ 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@zachcregle2931 Interpretation is alright and some play the piece better than the one who composed it..But there are also players who try to stay true to what is written..If fast parts sound blurry at an attempt to play what is written there is something wrong with the guitarist, the instrument, what is written or the hearing of the listener.

      Pepe has advised students "do not play the next note until you long for it".

      What makes Pepe's interpretation so great is ...is the man is de F***ing Pepe Romero playing a guitar...a legend , a maestro, a Master, a incredible artist

      The opposite can also be true, balancing the two ''interpretations'' is what extracts the beauty from music.

    About every 2 years Pepe gave a concert in San Francisco. The auditorium venue was always sold out. Pepe knew the SF crowd was real guitar fanatics. He played pieces like this and others just to show his skill instead of the flashy better known pieces. Each time he would play this piece where each pluck of the string was soft and quiet. Then he would get louder and louder gradually. Only Pepe could do this. The crowds were stunned and gave standing ovation each time.

      Segovia was like that too. I still recall attending one his concerts in 1965 in Cleveland (yes, THAT Cleveland). Only a few performers have legendary status.

      No matter how good I get at classical guitar and out of respect for Tárrega, I don’t feel I’m worthy of touching that guitar. If the people gave me the guitar to try, I’d politely refuse to touch it.

      Ademas de la velocidad, es el sonido de los dedos en las cuerdas, cuando hace los ornamentos es belleza absoluta, es un sonido cremoso, sedoso que hacen las Yemas de sus dedos, no se escucha metalico como los demas guitarristas. yo creo que es el conjunto de la maravillosa guitarra y el propio Pepe que hace esta interpretacion tan hermosa, para mi es la mejor version que existe de capricho arabe.

    This instantly brings back memories of a trip to Granada some years ago. We stopped for a drink at a small place somewhere in the city when suddenly a luthier test-played one of his guitars. He got carried away by the sound of his instrument very quickly and started noodling the spanish way for a while. I don't have any more intense memories of that journey and Mr. Romero brought them back effortlessly. Thanks a lot!

    Perfecta interpretación de una de esas joyas intemporales del repertorio español: Tárrega, Albéniz, Granados, Falla, Malats... No todos tocan bien aunque conozcan las piezas: hay que darles el tempo que requieren, el volumen, timbre y musicalidad de cada nota... Este es un maestro.
