I'm having my kids do these to prepare them for their first kart practice in a couple of weeks. Luckily we have a good gym @home with all the weights etc
yes, good to hear they are preparing themselves ready to hit the track!!
Fantastic video. My son is a young karter and these workouts will definitely come in handy. Great job guys!
yeah, get it on at home so life at the track is simple
Yeah great vid. Very informative. Already did a few last night 💪first race next week!
Clarke Smith #respect
Good stuff Des & Chris. Nice to see some stuff outside the technical bubble Derek.
Russell Innes thanks mate.
Great video, good advice!
sanigene thank for the positive vibes man 👌
Probably should have watched and done this before I bought a kart. Maybe you could do an update on how important strength is?
Good call. It needs an update
What's the weight that you suggest for the first exercise?
What exercises would you recommend for the neck? I have a KZ kart and I am tall with a longer neck (in my opinion). After some laps I feel my neck just giving up :)
mostly more lap in the KZ will do it, but know what you mean, they are brutal. lie on you back and side on a bench, and attach a resistance band to the floor. then pull n=head in opposite direction to put the load on the band. do it slowly and hold at the end of your range for 5 seconds. go easy on the weight, and longer on the holds, you want to be careful not to hurt your neck in the process of strengthening it
@@PowerRepublic Thank you very much
i can't really go to the gym during the pandemic rn, are there any home alternatives to the barbell?
There is heaps. I need to do another sequel for home training. But focus a lot on core strength, balance and endurance. Long rides on the mountain bike are good.
Do you have an alternative for that ball reaction time that you can do by yourself?
juggling
What would you say to do for a 44 y/o with a herniated disc in the neck? I'm getting back into racing after taking about 14 years.
be careful, your neck is going to have some load going through it so I would be doing a lot of neck strength conditioning before starting.
I bought a Bell Carbon Series helmet to reduce some of the weight up there. I will work on some neck strengthening as well
Im just gonna do basic workouts mate... pushups, situps, squats, etc
tibo nothing wrong with those my friend. Get some 💪🏿
This video is how can train for drive a Kart?
yeah as a start, mostly needs an update with some more free weight at home exercises. What do you think?
Go swimming 🏊♂️ mate without braking your back
Great ideas
Bro stop clapping.
got it, sorry bout that, just nervous reaction
It’s so unnoticeable there isn’t a point in telling this dude to stop
