- Surprise, I made another edit of one of my favorite ships! :)
I know there are already a lot of videos of Rory, Jess and Dean with this song, but I thought the second verse was more about Logan than Dean, so I made my own version. I hope you like it!

I think it's a matter of quantity vs. quality. Give the audience too much of one thing and they'll get tired of that shit which in the case of this show turned into a toxic mess (Rory's relationship with Dean & Logan). Give the audience just the right amount of something and they'll keep on wanting more because it continues to hold their interest (Rory and Jess). I recently saw a video on youtube where Scott Patterson (Luke Danes) said that the writers of the show (Amy & Dan) like to make very large things small and small things very large because it keeps everyone intrigued in the storytelling. For example, which of these scenes in the revival left you wanting more? A 10 minute Life and Death Brigade scene? Or a 10 second scene of Jess looking longingly at Rory through the window? I think we all know the answer to that question.

I actually think it's the opposite considering the circumstances. The show was emphasizing that Rory ran to Jess when she was lonely and broken apart, similar to Lorelei and Christopher. She always cheated WITH Jess, like Lorelei and Christopher. Logan might not be Luke-like, but the show compared them together many times it was clear, especially when both Logan and Luke were there for the girls then. As much as I don’t prefer Logan or Jess, that’s just how it was.
@@yummyyumms945 so you're telling me that Jess knocked up Rory and is gonna be an absent father meanwhile Logan is gonna be a supportive friend and a father figure to her child? That makes no sense at all. ASP explicitly said that Logan is Rory's Christopher. However, Jess especially as an adult is potrayed as Luke not only because they are related but also he's that supportive friend who is there when you need him.
@@akeelkondiah40 Of course the exact same story is not going to reappear in Rory's life. That would be lazy for the writers. Initially, in the first series, it was portrayed in that way. Which made the Year in the Life series even more stupid and unexpected. In season 6 and 7, they were trying to compare Luke and Logan. For what? We don't know that. At least Lorelai and Luke were eventually on the same level, Rory doesn't deserve Jess. The year in the life series, however, indicates that eventually Jess would become her Luke somehow. Yet, it would go against a lot of what they wrote before, and it's a cheap way to continue the story. I'm not saying she should end up with either of them, her life is not going to be the same as Lorelai's (obviously). She doesn't really deserve that type of life. So Logan is similar to both Luke and Christopher, and Jess is similar to Luke and Christopher, but the stories are completely different; therefore meaning that Jess and Rory is just a cheap way to rid the storyline they spent so long setting up. It was just my view on the show, you don't have to be so territorial.
@@yummyyumms945 I'm sorry if i came off as territorial. With that said, I think Jess was the guy being built up to inevitably end up with Rory given the fact that he was never given a second chance like Dean and Logan were and was the only guy Rory never slept with. Also, he was the only one that remained single ever since he and Rory broke up while Dean moved on and got what he wanted (a housewife) and Logan moved on and got what he wanted (a trophy wife). Jess however still longs for Rory and Rory alone which to me is very admirable given how good looking of a guy he is and can easily find someone else but chooses not to.
Did I audibly gasp at the first meet/adult Rory and Jess meet parallel ending? PERHAPS

@@user-jd3qb1dq5j ASP definitely did it on purpose, and the fact Jess has that look at the end shows that he is still a possible endgame for rory (moreso than logan who isn't good for rory anymore)

I think it's clear that Rory never really forgot about Jess even if she seemed happy with Logan. Her and Jess were never unfaithful to each other unlike when she was with Dean and Logan and ironically both times were with Jess. He's the only one that really gets her and she was truly herself with him. With Dean she felt pressure from Lorelai because in her eyes he was the perfect boyfriend and with Logan she felt pressure from her grandparents because of his name and wealth. Jess never pressured her towards something but he always is there for her to get her back on track what I didn't see doing any of her other love interests. But we all know from AYITL that they will end up together and Jess going to be the stepdad to Rory's kid. But in my eyes Jess will be too good for Rory after everything she has done because she needs him more than he needs her!
I found out recently milo ventimiglia (jess) is single and I like to think it's because he still loves alexis bledel (rory) just creating the perfect parallel between the show and reality

Yeah if they had more time but I don’t think she could ever fully trust him again after he literally left her like 4x and he had terrible communication skills on top of that and though he will always love her that way she doesn’t think of him like that she thinks of him as an old friend always and tbh they were better as friends than together even though Jess was the first person that really gave her a thrill IMO it will always be logan because the entire time it wasn’t awkward, they were so natural with each other. He fit her more.

Rory and Logan will never work out pass college similarly to how Rory and Dean will never work out pass high school because both those couples gave it another go post college and high school and not only did it fail but it also resulted in Rory being the other woman in both those cases. Jess is the right fit for Rory as an adult moving forward and seeing how the main reason why Lorelai knew that Luke was the right one in the end was because of how much he cared for Rory, I guarantee you if Rory sees how much Jess cares for her child, she'll realize he's the right one in the end as well.

Rory and Jess are really soulmates idc romantically or not they’re perfect together and for each other. I cannot deny that even tho her and Logan were also great and seemed perfect throughout the end and the growth in their relationship. Jess and Rory are something else. If not romantically they’re still perfect for each other.

Just hope someday they will make it up to Rory and Jess. That revival made me so mad! Suddenly, Rory ends up being just a mistress and trashing away every chance she had to makes things wright. It seams like she maneged to choose everything wrong, even with all the troble Lorelai went throw and tried to tought to her. Rory could have been so much more!

It’s October 2022 and I started watching Gilmore girls again I think in September and so have been watching it for the last few weeks for the 3rd time (almost finished season 7) and I think after the 3rd time and being older and recornizng lots of stuff in the show that I didn’t before and having a much different view. But point is this will forever be one of my fav shows and I think only show that gives me a certain type of comfort. I feel at home and at ease watching Gilmore girls. I will forever watch those 7 seasons over and over until I’m tired of it. Which I likely won’t be I think lol. Watched it for the first time in like 2017 at that time I was 15/16. Now I’m 21 and have watched it 3 times so far. To many more years of cherishing Gilmore girls and calling it a home especially in the cozy weather.
