We will soon be posting a real " Road Warrior" video of B3# 409! Check out on TH-cam channel: Jim Huss, Keyboard Exchange International

    It was born that way it lives it has experienced many feelings played by others.belive it or.not take care of a organ and keep it up it will respond to you both began to know each other it's just how I feel when I was a kid in the 40s at that time there were only radios. When the soap opera's come that sound was so deep and majestic.didn't k ow the name of the organ but it went all through my body.the old lady next door you can get a sound of a bird to the queen Mary horn nothing will ever replace the king of the organs the great Hammond

    Keep it like it is please but my question is is it up to an amp because the bass is killer and most B3 usually higher pitch. Maybe it’s the placement of the Leslie also ?? Sounds great . Wish I had the money to buy it from you all 😁😁😁

    Good day Jim Huss and friends.
    I just have a little question and I don't know of anyone better who can help me.
    My church has a Hammond C3 connected to a Leslie 247. I'm the organist and I just absolutely love that instrument. Nothing more satisfying than a vintage Hammond.
    According to the serial numbers the organ and speaker is from 1962, making the organ 57 years old.
    The question I'd like to ask is about the leslie.
    I've noticed that in recent years the leslie has become a little bit noisy in operation - like a kinda click clack sound that comes from the cabinet.
    Is that normal sounds from wear from all the years? Is it something I can fix or should I just live with it?
    The bass drum also struggles to get up and moving sometimes and then I should assist it with the hand.
    Otherwise everything is in fantastic working condition, just like a Hammond!
    She's absolutely beautiful.
    Hammond organ greetings
    Cape Town, South Africa.

      try oiling it

    • @KeyboardExchange
      @KeyboardExchange 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      We are rather certain that the noise you are hearing can be resolved with some effort by someone familiar with the mechanics of moving parts. We would typically observe and change speeds while being very close to the Leslie to try to isolate the source of the noise. No, you should not learn to live with the problem. Find someone in your area who can help you and it may not take an actual Hammond tech.....just someone who is wise with things mechanical ........ or a handyman who likes a challenge. Could be something loose hitting the top of the 6550 tubes. The spacing is very tight in those cabinets !

    Every stain and every little scratch on a vintage instrument, in my humble opinion, has a history in itself that no-one owns the right to erase.
    Please excuse me for any grammatical mistake I made in the comment, English is not my first language :)
    Thank you always for the beautiful tune! It's so amazing to be able to hear you play from the other side of the globe.

      Ha! Perfect. When I was about 10 Green Onions was on a juke box in the club room at a hotel were we would vacation. The room was empty before dinner time and I would play it probably 10 X, every day until my Brother was sent to get me. I was then sent into a life of R&R! Beginning in teens our band keyboardist went from a Farfisa LOL to a B3! Green Onions started every practice. When people hear a B3 live, the first time, they are in shock!

    Keep blond color. While I think Mr. Carter is very talented, I would like to hear a different style played. That would possibly influence prospective buyers. A second song should be played in a simpler style or both Mr. Carter’s style and a different style could be demonstrated. Thanks for asking.

    • @iampntcostl
      @iampntcostl 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Edith Smith I would be willing to guess their primary customer base is churches that play this gospel style and why most demos are that. I did see a handful of videos with Jim and others play different styles so perhaps you’ll get the chance to see and hear them as well. As for the gospel church, the more complex the better. 😊

    What's that white switch on the front panel for that he keeps flicking? My church organist years ago used to drive me nuts with that constant reaching and flicking. Never thought to ask him why he was doing it. Besides, he was such a diva, it might have resulted in an unpleasant exchange, like some of our rehearsal sessions.[Laffin'😁]
    By the way, if you do anything, refinish it the original tint!
