    Dan the joy and surprise on your face was something to see! Good to see you that happy about it.
    The scrubs are beautiful and I was surprised to see how far the one in particular could support itself while moving! The spotted pythons you managed to import after so many years and effort i can see has you very exited. Congratulations and do have fun 👍🏻👌🏻😁

    Dont stop unboxing videos, they are my favorite!

    • @DMExotics
      @DMExotics  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      A couple of things about unboxing videos. For one they are very redundant. Also, my pre-order customers enjoy confidentiality so it wouldn't make sense for me to show animals that are going to them. However, when there is something new or noteworthy like this one, I have no problem showing that aspect of it. The other thing is we are usually in a rush to sort and distribute so time constraints often make it difficult to film.

  • @KeystrokePOSSoftware
    @KeystrokePOSSoftware 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Please do not discontinue the unboxing episodes. Customer confidentiality is important, I get it, but please show us the rest. We are not all as fortunate as you to have such an incredible import business. Where else can we see something this interesting and COOL!?

    Stunning, stunning, stunning!!!!!! I've always been nuts for Antaresia! I remember watching the episode of Mark O'Shea's Big Adventure where he discovers maculosa in Papua in 2000. Please keep and breed these! They definitely need to be established legally in U.S. collections. I'm patient, but no matter the price, I will be buying some of these from you when you are successful producing them. Those adults may need a season or two to acclimate, but they are definitely big enough to breed! Great work!

      I actually had a very strong feeling and had already submitted the skins for mDNA. It was covid that delayed the results and I had already reached out to Dave Barker for assistance in writing the paper if the mDNA came back the way I suspected. Someone else beat me to it and saved me a ton of work :)

    I can totally understand your stoke over this project. Our minds work alike. Please go into more detail on the Leiopythons. I have a southern and he is a psycho. Always looking for more docile localities.

    • @DMExotics
      @DMExotics  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The only information I have on Leiopython and those that are docile would go back to my Tanahmerah/Boven Digoel locality. These two new ones are Aru and seem docile as well but I think two is not enough to declare as a common trait amongst all from there.

    Oh l love them, l have two females and one male though he is patternless. Certainly have one that is a little more busy with her spots and one that has more striping. They are gorgeous and one of my favorites and glad you were able to get them. MIne are wanting to breed at the moment and l find every May they start not wanting to eat and want to do nothing but breed, not necessarily weekly eaters as an adult either and prefer the 10 to 14 day feeding. Of course mine are from Australia, so your ones maybe a little different. Well that little scrubby showed he or she has an attitude but also very beautiful pythons and l would certainly trust your information about them.

    • @DMExotics
      @DMExotics  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am not sure if any of the work involved in putting out videos is "fun" but I am concerned that the videos will all look the same. Some youtubers just keep dumping the same thing over and over again and people watch, "my snake is sick", "I got bit again", etc. However, we want to provide value. Five years from now no one is going to search "I got bit"...but I could definitely see someone searching Papuan Antaresia to research some background info on newer animals in the hobby.

    Great, I love this group of snakes, they prove very popular on my videos!

    • @DMExotics
      @DMExotics  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the true meaning as to why these animals are so special will go over most peoples’ heads. I am extremely interested in the pythons that separated from Australia and also occur in PNG and west Papua. There are still animals out there that are virtually unknown...navigating trade laws to be able to truly study them are very difficult. This is a big deal.

      @@rmzlife Honestly, we don't really concern ourselves with feeling appreciated or how people feel about us. I mean, it is great to have a following but my excitement over these new snakes would be no different even if we had no social media presence. Is it hard getting the people from overseas to comply with all of the USA laws? Are we the only ones that have laws like that?

    • @DMExotics
      @DMExotics  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We as in the USA? America is one of the more lax countries when it comes to importing. CITES is an international treaty for which all participating countries must comply…if not a member, you cannot be a player. While following those guidelines, each country can impose further requirements and restrictions and the USA is one of the easier ones.

    • @DMExotics
      @DMExotics  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@grantcowan-hackett7013 Oh no not me, I made this video realizing that I would be one of the very few people that would be geeked out over an animal that currently is a very common pet trade species. I think it won't make any sense to average hobbyists until the genetic work is done...or perhaps if it results in a new python species or ssp. I think at that point it would be easier for most to understand the significance if this ends up being the case. From my perspective, it is not everyday that one is staring at an animal that potentially is a new python. Your favorite Australian maculosa was described in 1873. This could be something happening in your era, that you are watching on youtube because I am sharing it as things move forward. I think that is pretty darn cool and if you like Australian "blonde" morph maculosa that is also cool...it is just that it has nothing to do with the point of this video.
