Top videos on surfacing online indeed. Would love to see how you would go about surfacing a yacht hull out of several waterlines or stations to create a clean surface
I love your videos. It took a while but I've finally wrapped my head around sculpt & match, as well as patch layout thanks to watching your videos over and over again. Now when my coworkers ask what command I used to create a certain surface or blend I just smile and say "I don't remember! :D" and they give me weird looks. It's fun.
I found using history when matching a blend to the primary surface to be really useful as you can then tweak the boundary points of the primary surface interactively to get the blend spot on. Thanks for sharing.
So true! I've never been all that fond of History in Rhino, but that's really just a personal preference of mine. Would for sure work well in this instance.
Have you ever done, or thought about doing a video on how you use layers? I've been making new files of a project whenever I start a revision, but that gets cumbersome real quick. I think I see how making layers and sublayers might help out in that regard. What you've done is right there for reference or when going backwards is necessary.
That would be a quick video! I would definitely say use layers, not new files, will save you LOTS of time in the future. My Layer methodology is very simple, but I'll probably make a quick vid on it.
kind of an overarching question here : do you ever have to change the absolute tolerance and/or angle tolerance settings in the doc. settings to get things to achieve G2 continuity ?
I never do that, nor would I recommend it. Generally you should set your tolerance to 0.001, and then choose appropriate units. The one place where I DO change tolerances is in the MatchSrf command - under "Refine" you can set thresholds for angle and curvature. Rhino will not hit those numbers exactly, but it will definitely make a difference. Check out my MatchSrf video for more info on it.
Dude, we miss your contents!

@@thirtysixverts agree there, I only use history now and then!
Was there Episode 3.1 or I am am missing something here? 😆

WHERE IS the finalized car design ??
