  • Hi everyone,
    We shot this video while walking around Marmaris' charming old town and visiting the castle which overlooks the city and is a landmark you can see from far already. The old town is especially worth visiting when in Marmaris and part of the fun is to get lost in the narrow alleys while admiring the colorful houses in this area.
    We hope you will enjoy this video!

    We haven’t been to Marmaris for many years, actually it was the first place in Turkey we ever visited. We were put off by the shopkeepers and restaurant’s continually pestering us to go into their shops. We never went back. It certainly has changed, and i enjoyed seeing the harbour with the Pirate party boat, they have one like it in Oludeniz. The tiny backstreets are charming and I know that a lot of Brits love Marmaris. For me, Fethiye and surrounds will always be our preferred place. Are there many tourists around, or are there just Turks on holiday only? We in the U.K. still cannot come to Turkey as they are in our red zone which means that the virus numbers in Turkey are too high for us to safely visit. Still hoping that they down grade to green before August so that we are allowed to visit. Can’t wait!

      Actually this was our first time in Marmaris and we really liked it. It’s definitely a buzzing city but at the same time it looks nice and clean and well developed, e.g. their bike lanes seem to be extensive and the mini buses are running everywhere in the center.
      From what we saw there are currently mainly local as well as Ukrainian tourists in this area of Turkey.
      Keeping our fingers crossed that you will be able to visit this summer!

    Marmaris has a hot-summer Mediterranean climate (Köppen: Csa) characterised by a hot dry summers and mild rainy winters. Showers and rain are very unlikely between May and October.
    Summers are hot and dry, and temperatures are especially high during the heatwaves in July and August. October is still warm and bright, though with spells of rain, and many tourists prefer to visit in the early autumn, especially in September, because the temperatures are not as hot.
    Winters are mild and wet. Winter is the rainy season, with major precipitation falling after November. The annual rainfall can reach to 1,232.7 millimetres (48.531 in); the rainfall is concentrated during scattered days in winter falling in heavy cloudbursts which cause flash floods sometimes in flood prone areas

      The marina is actually very close to the Old Town - it basically starts behind the front row of cafes and restaurants at the marina. Marmaris is not that big btw so everything is easily reachable on foot. Have a nice trip!

    What is your favourite holiday resort? Do you live in the Fethiye area?

    • @YashNico
      @YashNico  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We have been to Turkey a few times and seen different places but there is so much more to see in this country so I’m not sure I have a favourite yet. We are currently staying in Fethiye and like it a lot but we also have not seen it in a different season yet. From our recent trips we also liked Kaş, Marmaris and Datça even though they are all very different from each other.
      Izmir is another favourite as the city is nice and you have lots of beautiful places within a short radius.
