Everyone complained about the lopsided world cup, however it provided one of the greatest tournaments ever seen. This game, how south africa managed to beat out the other top 4 teams by a point each time, Portugal winning against fiji in a true undedog fashion.
This world cup has inspired generations and entire nations.
I remember watching this game it was so good
World rugby need to organise a fiji vs boks game the boks were shook playing the tongans in the world cup so would love to see them play a fully stacked fiji side not saying fiji would win but would be nice seeing the boks get sat down alott 😂💪🏼
Even better preferably that SANZAAR invite Fiji and the others 🇯🇵🇼🇸🇹🇴 into the RC as regulars, I'm sure Argentina would be relieved from the wooden spoon. 😅
But still there's that 2026 comp where Fiji and Japan will join the RC teams so definitely South Africa will get to play them by then since Fiji-South Africa games are a rarity since 2011.

I watched this game again on Boxing Day. I just don’t see the one sided nature of the refereeing that everyone is talking about. There were some bad decisions for sure, but that is always the way in Union because it’s impossible to ref. Have a look at how many times Fiji were off their feet and offside at the breakdowns.

Awesome game it was despite that last pass for Fiji gone awry, and even if the try was scored there would've been a difficult conversion afterwards from the corner anyways.
But still, both teams 🇫🇯🏴 made the quarterfinals ironically at Aussie expense, no doubt Fiji is happy with the achievement despite eventually going down to England in the last eight sorely missing Caleb Muntz their flyhalf.
Awesome game played hard but fairly both teams had respect for each other. Shame one side had to lose.
