- Maha Shivarathri of 2000, the year which changed the century and millennium, is truly the most auspicious and magnificent Shivarathri of my life. But it began as a challenge for me. I was in a bit of a pickle, having angered my hostel warden who refused to give me the permission slip to carry the camera with me to the mandir. Meanwhile, Swami had accepted a letter from me in which I had stated, "If you accept this letter from me it means that I will get a photo of the Lingodbhavam (emergence of Lingam) with the Lingam in Your mouth."
The reason I wanted that photo was because Swami had said that anyone witnessing the Lingodbhavam completely would get MOKSHA or LIBERATION! I felt that if I could take a photo of that, maybe it would help all the future devotees also to get Moksha because Swami never mentioned that it has to be seen 'live'! How was I to get the photo without a camera?
Even after Swami, through a series of 'coincidences' ensured that I had the camera with me, I was wondering whether I would miss Moksha because when a photo is clicked, the shutter closes and the photographer is unable to see through for a fraction of a second! What happened next is nothing but Swami's love and blessings.

You have captured the photo of Varahaswami, the third avatar of Vishnu! This makes perfect sense. Baba is looking exactly like the Bhoovarahaswami, the 3rd Avatar of Vishnu. It fits the jigsaw puzzle , exactly. It makes complete sense now. Lingodbhava in ancient scriptures is the day when Shiva appeared as the great column of light (we know this day as Mahashivaratri), on that day, Vishnu assumed the Varaha avatar to dig and find the base of the column of light which became known as the third avatar of Vishnu. This day photographed is the Lingodbhava day! And the Lingam has emerged and Bhoovarahaswami, our Baba, is right there. Notice Baba is exactly looking in this photo as Bhoovarahaswami has been depicted! You are very lucky brother.

This might be going off subject but I remember years ago a friend who had returned from Puttarpati came to give me vibuthi and a Ganesh murthi as a gift and then a few hours later the Ganesh statue drinking milk miracles started across the world. I did try it with my one but it didn't happen but then just for it to turn up a few hours before was the miracle itself from baba.

Sai Ram Brother..... first of all let me tell you, is it by chance or what, or by SWAMI's grace, Your throat is constantly looking blue, you look like having the Neel Kantha. Anyway, thank you so much once again for such a beautiful story.
Your story reminded me of my own experience of "LINGODBHAVAM" of Mahashivaratri-2004, where I heard SWAMI declaring, that whosoever is present at that particular time in Sai Kulwant Hall is blessed with MOKSHA, all the Karma Phala is made NIL. And as you said, my hairs stood on the edges and tears started rolling down.
Also, that particular year, something bad happened with me during morning Darshan, and to compensate the same, during the evening darshan, SWAMI came straight to me and took my letter, on that very auspicous day of MahaShivaratri-2004

Dearest Aravind anna....i had once ordered a book about swami and when i received the courier, there was a photo of "swami with the linga in his hand" in the parcel along with the book.
This picture had a text that mentioned that it could heal the sick when kept near them.
So i used to give it to anyone who is not well in the family and later collect it after a few days. In this process of giving it to near and dear ones, the photo got misplaced !!
Today just as i was recollecting and feeling bad that i was not able to find the picture ..... the first thing that turns up on youtube is this precious sathsanga of lingodhbhavam with a photo that can be downloaded !!!! Imagine my joy anna.... 😊
