I grew up in St. Petersburg, but my parents had a weekend beach house in Indian Rocks. Sort of a 1920's two story house. Looks like it has been long cleared out and replaced. Have not been back to the Tampa Bay area since the 1990's.

Yes, you can snorkel but IRB doesn't have a reef. I'm not sure what charters are currently charging

What I don't understand, Indian Rocks Beach is basically only the beach road and that's it. The houses and rent property is on the beach side, while the beach businesses and some boat docks are on the other side, and that's it. Parking is total chaos. And since in this area the road is only one lane in each direction, getting around is slow slow. And the Great Indian Rocks Fishing Pier, once one of the most interesting piers in the world, is gone and apparently nobody has got the money or the balls to rebuild it.

My father would take us to indian rocks beach every summer when i was a kid. Last summer we came down was 1988. I remember walking to the big pier in middle of night watching fishermen. Cant remember the name of the place we would stay, was something like "Patio Palms" or "Palms on the Patio". Awesome memories on that beach.💖

My mom lived in IRB for 30 years, I love Crabby Bills. I have to say I'm glad she moved inland to Seminole, the speed limit on Gulf Blvd is 25... don't do 26.
