We had drinks at Dead Rabbit to find out why it's considered one of the world's best bars

- Dead Rabbit isn't what you might expect.
A small, disarming Irish pub steeped in history, it is one of the most talked-about bars of the global cocktail scene. The upstairs Parlor bar, if you can get in, features an ever-evolving menu of some of the most of-the-moment cocktails.
In recent times, Dead Rabbit, or its founders, have taken home virtually every top accolade of the cocktail world, as chosen by the industry standard-bearer, Tales of the Cocktail:
Bartender of the Year, Best American Cocktail Bar, World's Best Drinks Selection, to name a few.
Dead Rabbit was opened in 2013 in lower Manhattan by two down-to-earth Irishmen, Sean Muldoon and Jack McGarry, who started out as neighborhood bartenders before making a name for themselves at the 5-star Merchant Hotel bar in Belfast.
Dead Rabbit isn't that far from our Union Square offices. So we headed downtown to find out what all the commotion is about.
We were not disappointed.

YES!!! SAME!!! Don't get me wrong, I enjoy watching the occasional game in a bar, but down here in the southern USA it seems that almost ever bar has 50 TVs with various games playing all at once. There is something about sitting in a low light pub nursing a fine glass of bourbon with just the sound of conversation filling the air.

I've always had a fascination with hospitality which branched my fascination to cigars, alcohol and charcuterie.
I personally enjoy sparingly because my mood is elevated and I do not need substance to feel good and relaxed but it is something I have at home to entertain because it helps others feel at home.

At 0:31 that is a holy water font, and a very beautiful one at that. Catholic dip a finger into the water then make the sign of the cross with it, usually before entering a sacred space such as a church building or any room with Christ present in the Eucharist. Some families even have a font that size at the doorway of their home. I have two at the doorway to my youth room.

Pardon my ignorance but I’m not sure I understand what distinguishes a bartender as being good or great? Assuming the drink has a recipe with measurements, shouldn’t anyone hypothetically be able to reproduce the same drink?
It's like any football player. Some can pass better than most, some run faster than many and some have the instinct to work through any setback. But most of these players are asked to do the same thing. But not all of them can do the same thing.
At the very least buy the whiskeys mentioned in the video to make a "Mean Fiddler" before criticizing the video. Looks like an amazing bar.

To make the best cocktail, pour 6 oz into shaker but... pour 2 oz into the Glass
