There are 2 holes in the rear that the prongs sit in and the tabs that fold up on each side has a rest that the rack sits on. It works better than I expected but not as well as I hoped. Still, it is easier to use and carry than a Dutch oven, let alone clean :)
It works surprisingly well. I had serious doubts due to all the gaps and it is far from efficient but as an all in one package it does what it says it can do!
I have one of these I believe a no1 just no pressure gauge 1923 vintage if im not mistaken.I still take it camping and it puts out great heat.Just have to oil leather cup inside hand pump.Awsome video sir.Montgomery wards sold these ?.
They did! I hope you enjoy yours, they're pretty bomb proof. Just make sure to pre-heat it really good otherwise you can flood it and cause a heck of a fire ball...been there and it wasn't pretty.
They are pretty durable and easy to fix overall since there are so few parts to maintain. Mine had some kinks to work out, the most notable was clearing out the nozzle with a needle. For some reason carbon tends to build up in it and then I need to disassemble the burner setup to get to it. I tried it again yesterday with a different oven to bake in and was able to get it going well without breaking it down for the first time.
what kind of oil do you use on the leather washers in the air pump? I have my parents stove from the 40's they bought when they got married after the war. I'm using a propane conversion , but would like to run it on stove fuel too
Generally instead of oil, I dip the pump rod in the white gas. Due to the way the pump is designed, if I used a 3 in 1 oil or gun oil like I use in more modern camp stove pump mechanisms, the oil messes with the fuel. This works out really well since I already have the fuel.
sounds like something the tin can tourists might have used, they were so tight the saying was, They came to town with a clean shirt and a 5 dollar bill and left with both
I believe the grill of your stove fits into the slot to sit level if not in the slot maybe on top of it

What type of fuel do you use for this? I just acquired a model no 5 that I’m beginning my restoration on.
White gas my friend. You can pick up a can in your local Walmart labeled under Crown or Coleman. Congrats on your acquisition!
dude, straighten that grill! It's assembled wrong.
At what point in the video? I appreciate the feedback.
