there was a reason why some Ukrainians wanted to disq Vesna. They were singing about sisterhood like ruzzianz says that Ukrainians are their brothers. And you know, ruzzians invaded us with that narrative of brotherhood-sisterhood. Vesna was not able to explain what are the elements of their clip besides "bro, it's sisterhood". There were lots of tricky elements with borshch, ruzzia-like girl, Ukrainian-like girl, and costumes. Even this message of sisterhood is a communist message that was shared with socialist allies like Czechia, Poland, Slovakia. Vesna had an interview with Ukrainian BBC where they said sorry and they didn't mean to follow this critical narrative. Their excuses worked for lots of people in Ukraine. I think, they wanted hype, but they got hate. Probably unintentionally. To sum up, we are still fighting and they trigger super sensitive topics and fuel them with their video clip. Extra comment from me: Let3 said on a turquoise carpet to BBC:UA that EBU didn't allow contestants to talk about Ukraine-like symbolism due to multiple triggers from other contestants, so his dress now is in EU flag colors.
