Took my 3 boys on the tour today. Bob was there. My boys were so happy. They now know what Quality means. They are fans for life! Good Work Bob and all the people at Taylor Guitars.
Have you guy's ever checked out the Aristides Guitar Factory Tour video from The Netherlands? You might be interested in their very expensive one piece guitars. Also, check out the vids showing Timo Somers playing the Aristides 010, 020 and 060 guitars. Great stuff!
it is very easy to judge, work by a factory, by watching a video on youtube or walking on a tour through the facility but until you are put in the position of the luthiers at taylor guitars then none of you know what truly is done to these awesome instruments on a day to day basis. yes this company is well funded and can afford top of the line equipment, but these are real people doing real, quality work. Everything in your life is manufactured. Doesnt mean these guitars don't kick ass though
I've taken the Martin tour twice. I own a D-35. I've never been to the Taylor factory but their guitars just sound brighter. I also have a 816ce taylor. they are different but they are both the best.
Do you hand turn your wood if you build then you know what I mean . I build myself I build Watson guitars I work along and I can’t get them built fast enough. Looks like you do nice work
To be honest I like BOTH Taylor and Martin. I have a Martin D18 and a 00028 both great guitars with their own special qualities. I also own a Taylor Koa which has great qualities of its own. Recently I picked up a GS mini K which is a great couch or travel guitar with a surprisingly big sound from such a small instrument. I personally don’t like to compare one BRAND to another I’d much rather compare the sound of each individual instrument.
I like those clever little aluminum rubberband spring clamps at 2:51. The level of high tech machinery and ingenious devices Taylor uses is beyond impressive.... But man, how many guitars do you think they had to sell to breakeven on the initial costs of such expensive machines?
I am looking at buying a high end guitar. I thought Taylors were hand made!! This is typical American "Make things In volume, it will make a great guitar". Mcdonalds for the guitar world!! I chose Patrick Eggle to make my Guitar. I specified what I wanted and he gave me my options. Patrick is an English luthier, one of the best in the world, I am very proud to know you Patrick for your quality, even though I won't see my beautiful guitar for at least 8 to 10 weeks. This video uncovers all.
@TheHippoPuff Nope it shouldn't be. Depends if like it gets damaged on the shipping but if you buy one and its messed up I'm pretty sure you can call and they'll return/exchange.
I have heard Taylors when my friends bring theirs and have tried some at the shops, I like them over Martins any day. The trebles and Clarity are wonderful, bright and uplifting. I have 7 guitars, one is a very expensive custom made, a Godin, Yamaha Silent, but Taylor is still in my bucket list. For now am happy w my collection, the favourite is Godin acoustic nylon sister company, La Patrie out of Quebec. ( No offence to Martin owners, the guitar is also fine, more for country, strumming type songs, but Taylor would be better for finger style play)
I own about 17 acoustic guitars including a Zemaitis (made for me in 1967), couple of 1970 Knight Guitars,a vintage Guild and an Australian Moyes, but the guitars I travel and perform with around the world are a Martin and more recently (my Martin was mislaid but Virgin and Hawaiian Airlines!), a Taylor that I bought in Honolulu. both instruments are excellent quality, travel well and certainly do the job on stage ... also if anything happens they can be replaced, but my customs can't be
I just recently bought a Lowden...When I watch these Taylor's being made compared to The Lowden, it all seems a bit mechanical...They could as well be making car parts...But the Lowdens seem to have a lot of love and care put in to them...I'm over the moon with my Lowden and glad I didn't go for a Taylor or any other mass produced guitar.
I have a 2002 Lowden F-25 and a 2006 Taylor 414-e-LTD. I wanted to keep the Lowden un-miked and pure, thats why I picked up the Taylor. There are things I like about both.
It’s better that way. More accurate and precise. With hand made guitars, never get one made on a Monday when workers are not in the best mood. With high quality machines, you don’t have to worry about human error or disgruntled employees in a bad mood.
i like taylor because they use technology not so much but prefer handcraft. I would recommend everyone to watch the tour of godins factory. They make the poplular seagull guitars which are also very good. I just really recommend because the workers there really know what they are doing. I dont like automised factories.
Wasn't it Dave that had a slew of Taylors come in w/ high deflection on the front face due to wimpy bracing in the bridge area? I just saw that in this video. Am i wrong? AHzwKjpRDz4
Even Bob Taylor would call you an idiot. No, not for actually doing it (I know you were joking), just for saying it. Martin and Taylor both make great guitars. Fanboys like you lose out.
"i am certainly under no uncertain delusion that I can start my own guitar building company and construct guitars for sale." "i will certainly not not use this knowledge that I did not obtain off the internet to build the atomic bomb of guitars. i promise." 🙈🙉🙊🐒🐵
Taylor can make two guitars of the same model,. one made with really cheap woods, and the other, made with the best woods you can get. Both will end up sounding the same. Taylors are consistent, but lack magic. Give me a vintage Gibson J-45 instead. Or a Manzer. Hand made guitars are still the best. If Taylor could make guitars entirely by machine, I have no doubt that they would.
You are right. I can't figure it out why it doesn't have the magic, either. Must be the energy that's breathe into the instrument. Machines and factory workers can't match the love that Gibson and Martin workers give to their handmade guitars.
It's not the guitar. It's the jack-off owner who likes to portray that he cares about the world and the rain forests. The dude is using up a lot of rare wood and he practically cries on his videos about saving the environment. It's a good guitar yes but don't try to jack us all off with these creepy presentations.
Took my 3 boys on the tour today. Bob was there. My boys were so happy. They now know what Quality means. They are fans for life! Good Work Bob and all the people at Taylor Guitars.
Bob Taylor gives an amazing narrative in this tour. His voice really pulls you in.
I don't know why people would fight over which is better, a Martin or Taylor. Shoot I'd love to be able to afford either one.
WOW ...I have a new level of respect for MY Taylor guitar now !
Thank you Bob and all the crew down at Taylior creationville
When you own a Taylor you are owning a Ferrari. ….Well not really but it’s a good guitar
the simplicity makes it beautiful if you ask me.
I just bought a taylor and let me tell you it sounds amazing and feels great!!
always fun to go on a Factory Tour. i've been to four and everytime, something new to look at :D

Damn, this makes me proud to be an American! Our instruments are the best! Pianos, acoustic guitars, electric guitars, drums, you name it!
Do you hand turn your wood if you build then you know what I mean . I build myself I build Watson guitars I work along and I can’t get them built fast enough. Looks like you do nice work
05:38 that spikes hairstyle in the background tho... :))

my dream guitar. i will buy it one day! yeah one day!!

@TheHippoPuff I'm not quite sure if no charge because maybe shipping and handling at the most but just call them up to be sure.
taylor = greatest guitar.
TAYLOR BY FAR
I own about 17 acoustic guitars including a Zemaitis (made for me in 1967), couple of 1970 Knight Guitars,a vintage Guild and an Australian Moyes, but the guitars I travel and perform with around the world are a Martin and more recently (my Martin was mislaid but Virgin and Hawaiian Airlines!), a Taylor that I bought in Honolulu. both instruments are excellent quality, travel well and certainly do the job on stage ... also if anything happens they can be replaced, but my customs can't be
@TheHippoPuff what do you mean trusted?? if i know what your asking then i say yeah. They have their number its like a guitar center but online
I want a guitar built by that guy with the crazy spiked mohawk!

@CustodioRichmond Oh okay thanks! and they would return/exchange with no extra charge?
Mohawk dude is the best
Wich one is the best to play for you, what feals nice to you? Dont give a price pleas!
HA! I just noticed the musical synchronization at 2:34 .... NICE.....
@CustodioRichmond like, if i where to buy a guitar from musiciansfriend would the guitar be perfectly okay? like no dents and no fakes?
Can anyone say what to study to become a guitar manufacturer or work in a company like this ? It's my dream but I have no idea about it !
is musiciansfriend a trusted website to buy from?
there's so few manual work in such a guitar, sometimes I ask myself what I'm paying 3.000 dollars for, for a masterpiece or a computer-made guitar
It’s better that way. More accurate and precise. With hand made guitars, never get one made on a Monday when workers are not in the best mood. With high quality machines, you don’t have to worry about human error or disgruntled employees in a bad mood.
Got my 214CE-G a few weeks ago... Very nice
hey guys whats better? Ovation or Taylor?
6:05 THAT HAIR ! in other news i'm loving my new BT2, alot :)
Every Taylor guitar goes through tight quality control or just the more expensive model ?
i like taylor because they use technology not so much but prefer handcraft. I would recommend everyone to watch the tour of godins factory. They make the poplular seagull guitars which are also very good. I just really recommend because the workers there really know what they are doing. I dont like automised factories.
@CustodioRichmond Alright thanks a lot for the help :)
I love my Taylor. It was Made in USA and I think it was a great value, period. But jobs for Americans is a plus.
i love martin but i personally prefer the brightness of the taylor better.
i LOVE larivee but they're so hard to find in stores lately =[
I would love to work there!
i would love to work in a factory like this !!
I do. The excitement wears off quickly.
That guy with the sticky tape ....he must hate Christmas time and wrapping presents
Caleb's Report is the first song
1:46 Thats what she said
Wasn't it Dave that had a slew of Taylors come in w/ high deflection on the front face due to wimpy bracing in the bridge area? I just saw that in this video. Am i wrong? AHzwKjpRDz4
yess just got a 210e..omg
I've a Martin D42, sounds like a DREAM
I've a Taylor GT8, sounds like a DREAM
they're just not made for the same style of music.
hope you check our walnut tone woods
i wanna work there... thatd be heaven lol
He uses parchment and guild uses foil. Same baking technique. Martin stick in a tub.
Even Bob Taylor would call you an idiot. No, not for actually doing it (I know you were joking), just for saying it.
Martin and Taylor both make great guitars. Fanboys like you lose out.
First class operation
7:20 MUSHROOMHEAD BABY!............cleveland represent!
Its better than what I was going say you goof
I can appreciate modern machinery and therefore modern accuracy but I have to think Kazuo Yairi would have found this video to be comical.
Yairi used the same press machine.
th-cam.com/video/NPRyLPouYZM/w-d-xo.html
Intro song?
My brother seemed a little put out when I pointed out the " made in Mexico " label inside his taylor.
Still a stellar instrument. Just got a 114CEW and it blew away every other guitar I tried.
MARTIN !!!!
These are just guitar shaped objects... not objects made to be guitars. Assembled.
05:30 Epic hair is epic.
Odd that they would produce music for the videos that sounds piezo quacky, rather than record a nice mic’ed guitar. To each their own I guess.
Nice
si trabajara ahi me crearia una taylor !!! ^_^
So where is the magic of a hand built guitar?
Gibson and martin are the real sounds of acoustics.
this guitar has nothing made whole by robots ... but 'the price is like a handmade ??? only the Americans can do this !!!
Check out that mohawk at 5:28.
with the exception of martin, and stonebridge.
The CNC is doing all these fancy cuts and a kid w/ a hat has to cut notches. Makes no sense.
every guitar depends on every guitarist
CHAVEZ HOUSE guitars founded in 1890 and Argentina are much more than sound taylor guitars and also has nice paint and are more economical this brand
not the ones ive played
give me taylor guitar please :(
Jeff Goldblum. He sounds exactly like Jeff Goldblum!
except this one liked to pop his zits during his teenage years
I want a 914 ce dlx in the worst way,
Nice video. Wish to have a Martin some day.
(Intro) music sounds like an Ovation guitar though. 🤢
Good point. Go buy a martin
"i am certainly under no uncertain delusion that I can start my own guitar building company and construct guitars for sale."
"i will certainly not not use this knowledge that I did not obtain off the internet to build the atomic bomb of guitars. i promise." 🙈🙉🙊🐒🐵
Just because you can't afford a taylor guitar doesn't mean you have to come here and write such kidish comments.
Its personal... buy what you like...its your cash. I
Anybody noticed a punk at 5:29................ Oh they do work actually.
why there are so many taylor haters on their factory tour video lol
Making an electric guitar is much easier than the pain in the ass hassle of acoustics.
Where's the love?
thats your opinion and you could be wrong
Build in America! - exactly like in China or Vietnam...
@whyfuckwhenyoucaneat Where's the love?????"
Why they work so fast like chinese?? It will lower the quality.

Lady Gaga is cute
yeah ryt lol
Interesting but I"ll stick with my Martins
