This is really cool because two buddies and I were staying in the Iguana motel in Loreto when Noraly, You, rode in! This quaint little motel has been a favorite place to stay when we are in the town, because there's only 4 rooms total and it's very well done. We had two of the rooms already, so seeing You pull in was beyond unbelievable! The odds of an old guy doing a bucket list Baja ride, running into you somehow in the Western Hemisphere was a billion to one! You were obviously very tired and hot and we made sure to give you your space, but we wanted to visit so badly! We, and our wives, just love your videos, because they are a bit "National Geographic" and a lot of everyday life in these awesome parts of the world. Always very well done. Keep your wonderful spirit Noraly! Ride Safe! PS, Nice to meet you and to have Alaska parked right beside our humble BMW's! (Brief, but it sure made our trip!)
What a great reflection… I would be just as in awe if I bumped into Noraly during one of her travel around the world… I never got into motorcycles, though I had a 71 300cc Kawasaki as a kid, I fell once and gave up riding, but watching Noraly travel through these small towns, with so many “National Geographic moments” would make me crave the feeling she is experiencing, as a retiree, traveling to parts unknown via delta is amazing…like Noraly says, just get out and explore the world before you cant…..
So a little story time, I'm a Big Fan of Noraly since Season 1 and I'd wait till 11pm to 12am midnight just to watch a new episode because I live in the Philippines. Her videos are just so relaxing and amazing and I really find it fascinating. Watching her videos is one great way to end my day and to destress. THANK YOU NORALY! GODSPEED!. Hoping one day youll travel here in the Philippines
When I was in high school there was an annual race in Baja that was called the Baja 1000. Back then, most of the competitors drove dune buggies made from modified Volkswagens. I dreamed of someday competing in that race, bought an old VW wreck, shortened the chassis/floor pan and mounted a fiberglass body on it. Somewhere along the way, I lost sight of that dream and joined the army in order to fulfill another dream - seeing more of the world. I spent nearly 21 years in the army and did get to see quite a few countries and places, but not all of them. Now that I'm an old man, Noraly has been helping me for months to see many of those countries that I never had an opportunity to see when I was in the army. Thank you, young lady!
Maybe a lot of us had that same dream. When I was young I really wanted to compete in the Baja 500/1000 in the motorcycle race. I did race enduro, etc for over 10 years, but never did get to race in Baja! Thank you for serving our country!
The giant cacti in the video are Cardon cacti (pachycereus pringlei) and may look similar to the Saguaro of the southern US, but can be larger and can have a lot more arms. The cacti grow quite large with some specimens well over 10m tall. In fact further north you'll likely see taller Cardon cacti. They grow on average about 10cm/year and can live up to 300 years. Thus some of the cacti near the mission of San Francisco Xavier may even be older than the church which was built in 1699 by the Jesuits who also founded Loreto in 1697. Baja was "discovered" for the Spanish crown by Hernan Cortez in 1536, but the Spanish decided not to pursue colonization as they didn't find any silver or gold and found it too tough to survive. The native population was wiped out after contact with Jesuit missionaries in the XVIII century, with the vast majority succumbing to diseases like smallpox to which they had no immunity. Therefore some of these missions were abandoned once the area got depopulated. You can still find vestiges of cave paintings that these original inhabitants left behind, and there are some accessible locations, but you do need to get a permit from the INAH to visit them. You can get a permit to visit La cueva del Raton in San Ignacio. That location is in the Sierra de San Francisco about 30-60 minutes from San Ignacio.
Ahhh…the smell of new rubber…and Alaska can breathe better. Can’t imagine how much effort it takes to plan parts and deliveries, riding, planning, filming, editing, and maintain your exuberant personality. Loved your first day in Baja!
even more. Do you know someone to repair a tube? We are so used to unpack a new one ...Few days ahead an older guy tells me he wants a repair but the mechanic told him to buy a new one because it is cheaper. And he even hasn´t the tools to repair during a tour, i do but i also prefer new ones. Noralyy shows us that there is not first-world everywhere.
@@timolipps3646 The guy removiing the tire pinched it with a tire iron and had to patch the hole in the tube he created. Anyone that's owned a mountain bike knows how to patch a tube.
For those interested; measuring the the saguaro cactus (in inches) from base to highest point, then divide this number by 10 and you have a pretty good idea of the age of the plant. But for a reasonable estimate just look at whether the plant has developed any arms yet. If it has any, like those in Noraly's video today it will definitely be above the age of 70.
@@RRr-yl8zr Saguaros are "Mexican" cactus too. They are endemic to the Sonoran desert in Sonora state in Mexico, Arizona, and some parts of California.
Dna filters are made here in my country (Greece)....i use them for many years and i can say that are awesome!!!Dear Noraly ,i think that you don't have to worry about them........Alaska you can breathe freely!
Along the way near Ensenada is a beautiful Organic winery. I appreciate your traveling adventures. I am elderly and handicapped and can see the world clearly with your panoramic cinematic views. The world is spectacular and the people throughout Latin America are courteous and helpful. Now I want to take a class in Spanish. I can learn. No problem even when at 80 years.
She seems to be going through the Sea of Cortez side (Loreto), but thanks for the info, I have a place in San Felipe where I spend several months, I’ll cruise to Ensenada and check it out.
Spanish 10 minutes a day. Excellent course User friendly Affordable. One of my students was learning disabled and older nervous about pronouncing correctly. He did wonderfully. Found out he was using the words that were separated for pronouncing next it instead of the actual word. Genius!! Even teachers can learn from their students.
An amazing day of riding through beautiful terrain and on NEW TIRES! The tire mechanic was so kind to meet you, carry the tires, repair a puncture and get you on your way so quickly. Wow, you always manage to find the best and kindest people everywhere you travel. Thanks for sharing another day in your adventure! Ride safe Noraly and continue Northward!
The filter really looks like a reusable K&N filter, but with a different manufacture name. This whole season 6 has been fantastic! I just hope you can still keep this trip going in the states. It's not as easy to find these back dirt roads without going over someone's property. No Noraly saying... if you liked the video please give a big thumbs up!
Recently I "discovered" this young Dutch adventurous and daring Lady. Now I'm hooked watching her amazing experiences traveling on every road and all continents. Admirable and courageous bad ass attitude. And to top it off, her demeanor is so positive. So far, regardless of the situation in different locations, she never dismay and never has nothing negative to say about anything.
I'm 73 YO and in 2018, one of my sons and I, went to Europe, rented 2 Beemers and did a loop from Paris to Paris, going to Brussels, Amsterdam, Kohl, Luxembourg, Reims and back to Paris. But was absolutely nothing compared to this young Lady adventure...and by herself.
Your new air filters are washable. But you need a special solvent to clean them and oil to put on them after they are clean and dry.. But they will last for 100k miles if cleaned and re-oiled regularly..
I agree. Those cleaners/oils are available in the U.S. and Canada as soon as she's across. Baja is not far from San Diego. She could have ordered one and been golden for the whole rest of the trip. 😆 Oh well.
I have been following from Ecuador until here but things I I live in Dominican Republic and love the see I enjoy when you are travelling near the coast
The locales through which you ride, and document with your drone, show you as this little speck moving across the vast landscape and I am always struck by that image and continually amazed at this quest you are pursuing. I am so thankful you are taking me along and it is so worth the monthly donation made. Kindest regards from Vancouver Island, B.C. Canada. 🇨🇦
I'm actually very impressed with your consistent upkeep of your bike and the many avenues you take to acquire parts in a difficult time. You're doing an awesome job and thanks once again for taking us along. Youre resilient, creative and persistent. Be safe-Be well
You would think with the amount of awesome publicity Noraly gives companies like Honda and mosko moto they would help her out with parts etc, because of this channel I have gotten back into riding and made sure to tell mosko moto how I found out about their product when they asked for a review 😉
As many have stated, look like K&N air filter. Should be reusable. Clean and oil. Maxxis Dessert IT tires. Good tires for Baja! Not DOT legal though. Also, slippery on pavement, especially when wet. You plan to replace when cross the boarder. Good plan. Safe travels Noraly! Will be fun to see your route through the U.S. IF Planning to get to Alaska this summer, you need to get going. Summer is short when you get to the northern parts of North America.
I wouldn't worry too much about DOT compliance with a bike that has NL plates. It's the same with helmets, ECE R22.05 and R22.06 helmets aren't DOT compliant, but it's perfectly legal to wear one in the US as a tourist. Still if like you said those tyres are sketchy on tarmac and in the wet, it's probably for the best to replace them with a good tyre.
@@fermitupoupon1754 Non DOT tires can be an issue here in the States. Depends on law enforcement she comes across. I’ve had friends run non DOT tires here in California. As far as the sketch factor. Yes, you have to ride accordingly, but doable. Noraly does need to clean up her bad habits. California is the only state you can “Split Lanes.” And you do need to stop at stop signs. I just don’t see her getting to Alaska before snow falls. There’s a saying in Montana “Summer is only 50 days long.” High altitude passes can get snow almost all year. 6,000feet/2,000 meters here in Northern California not unheard of to get snow in September. Kinda common at Lake Tahoe.
@@mikeshuck2760 So that red sign that says ALTO was a stop sign? Noraly can speak Spanish but obviously can't read it. I think her bad riding habits will get noticed in the US but I can guarantee that smile & laugh will get her out of trouble.
@@peterwaugh9416 Don't be so sure in California. She better learn quickly how to clear an intersection with her eyes before entering, at least here in California, or she's going to for sure be in an accident.
Hey did anybody else see that Noraly went through a STOP sign as she was talking? Thank goodness nothing happened and she didn't miss a beat. Love your videos.
The DNA air filter is a high quality aftermarket filter . No need to replace it with OEM. You may have to clean it and reuse it. Greetings from Greece!
Never get tired of Noralys' adventures but my heart sank for her when the breakfast muffins were absent! made up when she found a solitary specimen hiding under the cover! One of lifes Yay! moments.
What I love about you, is that for most people, it would be a "wrong turn", but for you, it's just another adventure to enjoy. I love it. Keep the great attitude and outlook on life. Looking forward to seeing your adventures to and through Alaska.
Great ride! I absolutely love the way Noraly tells the story of her adventure ride and the way she is able to laugh ("he...he") about even the smallest things along the trip.
You are truly a woman of the world. Your joy in experiencing cultures is infectious. You make everyone dream of world travel. Thank you for sharing your travel and cultural experiences.
I would be lying if I said I didn't picked up Spanish since watching Itchyboots season 2 and at present I can get an idea of what Noraly's conversing with the locals. Amazing Noraly! Amazing Channel! Amazing atmosphere in the comments section. Let's go
Noraly, what fuels your adventure? Ive been with you on your adventures from day one. You are very positive ,well spoken, and handle yourself well. I truly have faith in mankind. You have proven it time after time. Good Job. Be safe
My wife, two kids and I just binge watched your videos over the weekend. It's extremely hot here in Texas so your videos and cold a/c made for a perfect weekend. We wish you a safe journey. Glad you made it safe through the heart of Mexico.
Higher profile, tires can be run softer, while still giving the same distance from the ground to the rim. So pinch protection for flats is similar to a lower profile, 80 and seat hight can be similar as well.
Hallo Noraly .
Love everything about Itchy Boots....the incredible scenery, the accommodations, the new air filter, the tire shop. I'm there with you, Noraly! Thank you so much for taking me along.
so im a native hawaiian eating english muffins for breakfast in hawaii watching a native northern european riding a japanese motorcycle with a greek air filter bouncing on probably vietnamese or taiwanese tires through a mexican desert. isnt the world a wonderful place? :)
You have done it again! No tyres available and still you manage to get a new set. No air filters but you get a new set all the way from Greece! Nothing will stop you girl. Soo proud! Keep going!!!
I am so excited that you are almost in the US. It is going to be so Amazing to see where you choose to go while your here. I know that many have offered you help if you need it but If you do Just put out the word to any body on a motorcycle and I am sure they will help you. You are very well known in the motorcycle community here in the US. Gods speed and safe travels.
Been waiting for this episode. So happy you made it through Sinaloa unscathed. Now it’s onward through some very remote travel . You are so very smart in your decisions. Amazing just amazing Noraly !
Gr8 having some new rubber, what a beautiful old chrch that was reminded me of the old spaghetti westerns. Have a good night and safe travels. Hou het veilig en slaap lekker en tot snel.
Those cacti are Saguaro cacti and live to 200 years or so.. The taller and more arms they have the older they are.. They grow very very slowly... Desert southwest of north America is their usual growing area.. Sonoran desert..
I'm so excited that you are getting closer and closer to the USA, I was born in California, but now live in Maine, I can't wait to watch you travel through our country. I'm excited to see how your new tires work out for you. I used to have a high bike and could barely touch the ground, but could ride it really good once I was up and riding. I have faith that you will make it through and can't wait for your next video ❤️
Great to see you back in the saddle getting closer and closer to the USA. I hope that the people there are as hospitable as those in other countries. I'm sure they will be. I just got a Go Pro and put a mount on my bicycle and another on my motorbike helmet. Thanks for the inspiration every time.
i am a bit worried about the border crossing and sometimes the police in the USA. I have heard terrible stories about to cross in the states from Mexiko. Also some stories about the police if bikers came along. To be true, i gave some sacrifies to the ancient gods of travel and wimen to have an eye on her. And also to my youngest daughter who just got her license. Crazy thing, i do not matter if i do riding but for my children and for Noraly and some other tough young ladies doing journeys all over the world. But, as i can not protect my children forever i can not do also for them. May them always meet nice people.
Fwiw Maxxis makes a pretty decent offroad tire. I ran the same set of Maxxis Bighorn on my 4x4 truck for twelve years, finally replaced them with a fresh set just due to their age. No weather cracking or any of that and about 30% tread left, but I had ran them at low pressure over some pretty rough desert terrain and big rocks numerous times. Only one flat during that time due to a nail. Better safe than sorry, I didn't want to risk a blowout causing a crash with someone's family.
K&N makes a special fluid to wash their guaze air filters in .. I like the foam air filters on my dirt bikes.. wash them in mineral spirits .. soak them in oil .. Have to wash them almost daily .. trail riding.. I have two sets .. So I can install a clean and oiled air filter and wash the old one when I get back to my shop ..
I bet ALASKA is very happy. Breathing cleaner air and New Shoes! and off running dirt tracks in the middle of nowhere! 😄 Be Safe Ride on LET'S GO!! 💖🏍🤠
Every video posted it's a must see , at 70 years of age ( plus injuries), I can't ride anymore; But I ride trough your camera , with due respect your beautiful, blue eyes , dimples ,smile and personality plus your professionalism on making videos just makes out of you, Somebody truly special. let us continue having fun. it's good to ride with minor worries but great to ride with NO worries - a safer area, new tires, new motivation...it's nice to see you worry free. Travel safe Noraly!
Excitingly interesting updates on new air filters and tires and a great first ride towards the USA/Alaska with them! Congrats on another amazing episode 🌟 and thanks a lot!!
48 celsius in Death Valley today definately a better more enjoyable ride on your return trip in the cooler months of October. The West coast will be very crowded this time of year with people on vacation & escaping the inland heat, PCH is a great & beautiful ride and again much less crowded in late September and October, US Hwy 395 corridor in eastern californiaa goes from San Diego to Canada, starting around 300 miles north of the border the Mojave desert ends & with elevation gains it climbs getting alot cooler, with fantastic mountains High Sierra Nevada Range and high deserts, Amazing geology & scenics all along the 395 route and far less crowded. Hwy 395 all the way to Tonasket Washington near the Canadian border, where it meets Hwy 20 west, 2 hour ride west & 20 intersects with the AlCan Hwy north. nearer the coast. So many choices of so many routes to take north, but summer/fall season is very short in the far north so time will not be on your side soon, oil that new air filter & do stop for all the stop signs when in the US, as so many comments here mention. Failure to stop tickets are costly & a huge part of local revenues in the US. US Drivers always seem hurried and drive fast & careless as motorcycle riders are not respected much or even & often become targets in some areas so be aware & alert at all intersections.
Hi, those filters are really very good quality, you will not need to change them at all, as they are reusable filter element, you can clean them with compressed air, and use them for a life time, All the best for your ride.
I think you just win everyone over with your positive energy…I noticed in the couple of videos I watched that people seem comfortable with you and open up in a very short time..
Best episode yet, hands down. Amazing fast tracks to ride, ridden VERY capably, I might add. You just bloom on dirt. Great camera work, incredible drone footage, and beautiful landscape. Masterfully edited too! Thank you! I am going to watch it again. 😁
In Dawson City, Yukon I watched a man from Texas changing his tires for his ride on the Dempster Highway to Tuktoyaktuk, which is an awesome ride. It turns out he is also a fan of ItchyBoots, and says she is an excellent rider! Texas to Tuk is not quite as far, but still an epic trip. I recommend the Dempster to Noraly - a trip worth taking.
Agreed on the Dempster ride. The vast space for 500 miles is unimaginable. Did the trip to Inuvik in 2014 before the road to Tuk was done. A plane trip to Tuk on Canada Day was the way to get that swim in the Arctic Ocean off my bucket list.
This is good advice for someone who wants to drive/ride all the way to the Arctic ocean, because the last 15 km to the ocean from Prudhoe Bay is a private road. IOW, you can't get there.
I am from La Paz, BCS. You make me feel a real sense of pride with your portrayal of the people here in Baja. Great work detailing an incredible adventure!
Noraly, My wife and I have been watching your tremendous progress for months but this is the first time I've commented. Great to see you enjoying Baja California. What are your plans when you cross the US?Mexico border? If you're going to cross at San Diego, my wife and I would love to organize a little "Welcome to the US" party for you, if you're interested. Please let me know. We would hate to have your arrival in the US unheralded and unhonored. You deserve a party. You ARE a party!
An old growth cactus 'forest', a desert fox, the obligatory random cow in the road and more stunning drone views with some brilliant panning manipulation while also driving.
Hi Noraly, I have talked about Miss 7 my grandaughter before to you.. we watch you once a week together and she loves you... well this happened.... we went to a Cafe near us in NSW Australia and the girl serving had an accent... me...no idea... Miss 7.. oh she sounds like Itchyboots. We went and asked her and she said to guess. So we said she sounds like Itchyboots from the Netherlands. She was absolutely stunned that a 7yr old had guessed where she came from she said no one ever knows where she is from ... you are educating people in ways you probably never imagined... and then Miss 7 said... 'she is in Mexico at the moment ' oh my heart swelled. She is so excited that she recognised the accent. She also thinks I really love you because I have your hoodie and calender... and socks... 🤷♀️. I just rate you very highly... 😁. Thought I'd update you on Miss 7.
Hi, the air filters do not have a filter on both sides. They are a woven cotton filter similar to K&N filters. They may well be washable and you re oil them. The bike will breath better but they are not as good as filtering as the paper OEM version. Re the tyres, Maxxis is a huge organisation that produce tyres for lots of applications from mountain bikes, racing bike and off road bikes like your mighty steed. They are good tyres but will not cope with too much tarmac road riding. They will wear down on the road quite fast. Great video 👍🇬🇧
K&N air filters are not a good choice if riding on dirt roads, better to use paper filter, K&N allow to many particles to pass the filters, because they are designed for better airflow.
I AM EXHAUSTED JUST WATCHING....HOW THE HELL DO YOU HAVE THE ENERGY? Started watching your videos yesterday and I'm so impressed by your positive atitude and free spirit...
Not easy getting tires on the road, must have taken a lot of calls and e-mails. Baja looks fun and those tires will definitely help. Thanks for video. Take care.
@@LEEGOOVER9901 I'm sorry. If American English is not your first language, its not easy to understand. In American English, "On the road" can have two meanings: The first meaning is literal. It means something is on the surface of a paved road. Most often that would probably be a road paved with asphalt. The second meaning is more of an expression, or a figure of speech. It means a journey or a trip, usually traveling by paved roads. It brings to mind all of the normal experiences and difficulties that are common with being on a trip, away from home. "Off road" usually is an expression where a vehicle is traveling off of a paved road surface, most likely in dirt, sand, mud, gravel or rocky ground. So I was playing with the different meanings, which would allow Noraly to be both "on the road" but also "off road" at the same time.
Noraly the new filters you've got are reusable , you can wash them in petrol, dry off and re oil , at a pinch you can use engine oil, then dry off off with a paper towel .Much the same as a K&N
They are junk and pass a lot of dust and dirt through the motor. Absolute garbage. There's a reason John Deere, farm equipment and mining equipment all run paper air filter elements that don't require oiling, it's because they are junk and wreck motors.
I would only use engine oil as a last resort. It migrates to the bottom of the filter and drips off and leaves the upper portion dry. Without oil that type of filter allows a lot of dirt through!
Probably a pirate copy of K&N - quality, who knows......? Noraly bought three filters so throw away when a change is needed, and buy a quality filter in the USA. A genuine K&N filter would have lasted for the whole journey. Paper filters are crap if you ride mainly dirt and desert🕊
@@RRr-yl8zr You are right about paper filters - that's why it is standard in Australia to replace them with oiled foam filters, often with a pre-filter (like Unifilter, available for CRF300, replace the pre-filter two or three times before you need to replace the foam filter). With respect, you seem to have no knowledge of how K&N filters work and no idea of how seldom they need to be cleaned, and true motorcyclists know you don't do it indoors!🕊

Wonderful to see you bring the world to us, can't wait for the Alaska trips, am thoroughly going to enjoy them. I love the snow landscapes. Travel well and take care and peace all the way👋🏽
It awesome how Noraly take the back roads and thus cut across different country, I have to give her credit for making such a monumental journey around the world 🌎. Credit for Honda and all of the people that fallows this channel.
It would be ideal if the motorcycle manufacturers and parts vendors would sponsor her journey to some level (if she could remain free of the expectation to voice purely favorable opinions). She is certainly a valuable voice for those products and those considering buying them! Maybe that would add another complex layer to her workload; but what she does is at least worth their acknowledgement.
Careful! Blowing through the stop sign at 5:19 could have been really bad in that area. I love your work and want to continue watching and supporting! Ride safely.

Ahhh…the smell of new rubber…and Alaska can breathe better. Can’t imagine how much effort it takes to plan parts and deliveries, riding, planning, filming, editing, and maintain your exuberant personality. Loved your first day in Baja!
I was thinking that all Alaska needs now is a bath but 5km down that dirt road and nobody would have been able to tell the difference.
even more. Do you know someone to repair a tube? We are so used to unpack a new one ...Few days ahead an older guy tells me he wants a repair but the mechanic told him to buy a new one because it is cheaper.
Thank you for sharing the info. This is new to me

Start at Season One, India to Europe and follow all her adventures

😆 Oh well.
To late now she didn't oil it so its already compromised
Jacob, those looked like they've got the oil on them out of the package. Identical to a K&N or the like. She'll be okay.
I use dish washing soap. works as well if not better than the K&N soap I used to buy. But I do use the K&N oil.

@@fermitupoupon1754
Non DOT tires can be an issue here in the States.

I was thinking the same thing K&N oiled air filters Good for Alaska if cleaned well
K&N air filters are not a good choice if riding on dirt roads, better to use paper filter, K&N allow to many particles to pass the filters, because they are designed for better airflow.
..of course the debate is useless because as she has stated you get what you get when you're out on the road.
Lovely drone shots and scenery is amazing looking forward to what you show us in the USA safe travels Noraly

You're right... not easy getting tires "on the road". - especially when being on the road is largely "OFF road". haha
@@chazfaz3595 plea...se, elaborate, i cannot understand what are those "off road" "on road" terms you mentioned..
@@LEEGOOVER9901
I'm sorry.
If American English is not your first language, its not easy to understand.
In American English, "On the road" can have two meanings:
The first meaning is literal.
@@LEEGOOVER9901, those two phrases are "Colloquialisms" in English; or "coloquialismo" in Spanish.
@@chazfaz3595 ahhh, so that means the bike travels on gravel or on tarmac, thus called off the road; off tarmac, and on the road; on tarmac... Right?
All your videos are sooo grounded that I can't thank you enough...❤
