Saw this tour with a good friend, best tour ever from The Cure 💋 me . Still rember it, like it was yesterday. Thank you Robert and Co. Best band ever, f@#$ the critcs. Luv this song.
The Cure can so easily merge influences from other music styles into their own universe and make it sound completely " The cure" . From metal to classic, if you listen carefully to their music you will find a lot of influences that they carefully mixed into their own sound.
This song is amazing live and the transition to Disintegration is perfect. It made me look for the entire 1995 Glastonbury concert and now it's one of my favourites.
Thankfully, these were the years I finally got to see The Cure live at so many smaller clubs. Halloween NYC led to new friends up and down the East Coast who got us tickets and places to stay. We followed them for several shows on that tour, 1996. Reminisce much? Those were the days...🖤
@darkforest121 Peace to you too! By the way, i saw the cure live a few years back, they had no keyboards. it was a weird gig, some songs worked really well in that lineup, while others (lullaby for instance) did not gain from the treatment
@dgfutg Somehow I agree The Cure's evolution since Disintegration has not sustained a fresh style, actually even Robert's voice sounded more fresh in the 80's as he was younger. However I wonder if you've listened to every Cure song since 1990 (from albums, B-sides and unreleased). I'm sure if you try you could listen at least to 3 or 4 great songs with great mature lyrics and/or beautiful more complex music no matter less commecial success than in the Kiss Me or Disintegration years
+Michael Guerra Agreed, it's my favorite video of this tune and probably one of my top faves of all their tunes.... Rob is just wailin' on that guitar! I really wish we had a few more videos of this caliber that show off his playing.
@truefaith00 I would disagree in terms of consistency. Both artists seemed to lose the plot somewhat at the tail end of the 90's. Since then, I would say each album has been 50/50 in terms of filler/gold. YOR is interesting, simply because it is the first time Moz has recorded in studio with the band as opposed to adding vox to a finished mix. I think both bands could use a slight reconfiguration of lineup and a good producer to prod them in the right direction/sound and keep them from recycling
@ooviedoc Ok maybe i was a bit categoric, bloodflowers wasn't too bad, I guess, just didn't do it for me like the old greats. perhaps we're hotwired to favor the music we liked when we were young...
And Robert Smith looks like a pile of mashed potato with lipstick and a bit of fuzz stuck to it. We all get older. Who cares? I thought this Moz vs Cure debate was stale 10 years ago... They are both great bands.
After 20+ yrs. in the band, he *_STILL_* struggles to play many songs he didn't play on originally. When he's not over-simplifying them (like this one), he's adding fills where they don't belong and bashing cymbals endlessly to mask the parts he can't quite grasp. His playing has *_ALWAYS_* sucked. It's about time he stepped out and let someone else with far more experience handle drum duties. He really killed most of the momentum they had in the 80's and early 90's....
@@michaelsnow7252 In my and many other people's opinion, yeah. There's a reason why he came and is *_STILL_* coming under criticism since he joined the band in the mid 90's 'til now. I could understand if it was sporadic negative criticism or if it was just a few individuals doing the criticizing but, that hasn't been the case. Tons of people have criticized him since he joined the band and it hasn't stopped in 20+ yrs.. To most people, *_THAT_* speaks volumes...
@@RiverOfBlacklights havent heard any of that myself so cant comment.... in terms of this clip cant hear anything wrong, faster tempos dont leave as much room for manover, cant hear much wrong with this performance.....one thing i will give you is the playing on the self titled album....bombastic crash cymbals evrywhere detracting from the songs, maybe he was a victim of the dick of a producer, how much say he had is unknown...loudness war etc.... plus the fact he hasent actually played on agood cure album, aside in my opinion, Bloodflowers hasent helped his rep......
@darkforest121 I'm sorry but I have to disagree there. The Cure was a fantastic band up to Disintegration. Wish has some good songs, but everything released since then has been an embarassment - He has totally lost the ability to write good songs.
Shiver and Shake. One of the most unrated Cure songs! I'm surprised I don't see more covers of this song on TH-cam! It rocks!
Robert is making his guitar scream, love him!
and rage, pouring the power on the guitar riffs....
Make that guitar scream!!!!!
Robert Smith is so beautiful
I swear I can't listen to this song enough times!

They're hacking the $hit out of their guitars! Holy cow!

I was here...

nice feedback
yes
Guatemala forever
@stihlheader It was not part of the broadcast.
clocking in at 4:20 mins o_-
Their playing like the devil is after them in Ireland!
its a great version...but it is so anoying that they censured it
I think "three sick holes" is more rude than f-word.
@@waltersullivan1849 I think so too
@stihlheader yes it's Disintegration , I have the audio ..
Excellent version but they shouldn't have rolled the credits til after the song was over..
+Michael Guerra Agreed, it's my favorite video of this tune and probably one of my top faves of all their tunes.... Rob is just wailin' on that guitar! I really wish we had a few more videos of this caliber that show off his playing.
Dedicated to lol and his drinking. Robert opening a can of whoop ass.
@15series Agreed. For me, it isn't a phase, but yeah. Most of his fans are tremendous pains in the ass.
Now I know where Peter Steele got his bass influence from.

Disintegration is the next song.
ya
what concerts this? i dont lake much from this era but this looks ok
Glastonbury '95
noooooooooooo empezaba disintegration lpm!!!!
yes... this is when The Cure began to die!
BORIS RETURN TO THE CURE!!!
SAVE THE CURE!!!
Boris was great, but Jason is just fine.
Jason doesn't hit hard enough, and with the passion and conviction that Boris did. He is not "just fine"...
@ooviedoc Ok maybe i was a bit categoric, bloodflowers wasn't too bad, I guess, just didn't do it for me like the old greats. perhaps we're hotwired to favor the music we liked when we were young...
How did Tolhurst have the nerve to stay in the band for two or three more years after the release of this song?
Where is Balearic Blue?! TH-cam sucks.
Is this really a song about Lol? Lol 😆
Turbo Cure Grunge
Łap Serdak Laurence
Hawkwind
Try to tell me the smiths are better than the cure one more time
Why single out The Smiths? There are people who think The Stone Roses are better, not me though.
The only problem is that the word "fucking" is censored. A fucking waste!
Angry Bob...
This one kinda reminds me of Joy Division
I have no idea why…
Drums lacked of power...
Nothing personal against Jason Cooper..
But honestly.. It sucks!
On the other hand.. Guitar. Riffs were Great!
As soon as the drums started, I knew this was after Boris left the band.
And Robert Smith looks like a pile of mashed potato with lipstick and a bit of fuzz stuck to it. We all get older. Who cares? I thought this Moz vs Cure debate was stale 10 years ago... They are both great bands.
m0zc0re This comment about Robert looking like mash made me giggle, thanks:)
This piece is wasted lyrically. Great sonic fuzz track. Sad…
Poor Jason... he is struggling to play this one! his tempo and playing sucks!
