WHITETAIL BUCK WOODCARVING - "SECLUDED SURVIVOR" - Relief Wood Carving Deer

- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 26 ก.ย. 2024
- Relief wood carving showing a big whitetail buck staging onto a secluded oak island deep in a cattail swamp! Traditional chisels and gouges were the primary tools used. A dremel was used for the final details. It was carved out of white pine and took me approximately 40 hours to complete. If you enjoyed the video make sure you like, subscribe, and share it! It really helps me out!

Kinda nice to have both I think. Maybe not necessary to do both for each video, but your commentary added insight into your process.
However the above the carving angle would be cool. Bada$$ anyway keep it up.
@@adams13f Yeah that would be cool
What a great job.i am learning from people like you with great expertise. Beautiful work. Thank you
Thanks!
Very very nice job looking very good!!!👌💯👍
Thanks
Ladies and Gents, The man who has the skill to be called the bob Ross of relief carving.
Thanks, that's nice of you to say
I really enjoyed watching you work and when you had to make some detours from your original plan... your voice was very soothing and I feel commenting afterwards...doing voiceover is much better...allows us to concentrate on what your doing verses getting sidetracked when things go astray... great work... you make it look so easy
Thank you, I really appreciate the kind words. I'll keep the videos coming!
Lindo demais

Thank you! Also thanks for the feed back on the commentary. :P I didn't know if people enjoyed me talking through it or not or if they just like the time lapses.
I think commentating is better imo your work doesn't have to stop to explain what your doing. Great videos great carving absolutely amazing!!!!!!!!
Thank you!
Fantastic job 🥰
thank you!
beautiful
thanks!
I have just started wood carving. It is very relaxing and absorbing. Someone asked me how I did it - I said that I just removed everything which wasn’t in my design.
Yes I definitely agree.
Very nice
Thank you
sensacional!!, like
Amazing. Any advice for someone wanting to learn? I need a hobby. I have always been handy and tinkered with lots of stuff but no carving experience here. I think the video is in perfect format and enjoyed the commentary. Thanks for what you do!
Thanks for watching! It's always great to hear someone interested in getting into the craft! I guess the first tip would be to buy quality sharp gouges. They will save you from several future headaches. My second tip would be to always push your carving boundaries and comfort zones to allow growth, but recognize your tools limits and adjust your design and expectations according to your gouge collection. And last tip is enjoy the journey!
I’ve just started. I am lucky but I have a carving club nearby. Search YT for Mary May she does online lessons for free.
Good video, but I found the background music competes with the commentary and is distracting.
Hey thanks for the advice. I'll consider lowering the background music level on my next video.
I’m looking at carving a deer face and can’t really find anything as good as yours
Thanks, I'm still learning and honing the skill for sure, but I definitely pick up new techniques and ways of doing things with each carving I finish.
Thank you. Did you make the carving desk/stand yourself or one can buy it.
I made it myself but I know there’s tables out there that are similar that u can buy.
Where do you purchase your white wood
I get it local. I sell some wood blanks on my Etsy page.

What kind of tools are you needing?
It's hard to say exactly without having to really dive into details. I'd say though in general, you'll need a variety of gouges and if you're specifically asking about this carving, you'll need a variety of deep spoon gouges. A rotary tool (dremel) helps as well as it can fill in the gaps for gouges that you may not have to get a specific job done. I hope this kind of answers your question. If you'd like to talk more in depth you can email me any questions you may have. chiseledoutdoors@gmail.com
I want to start, do you recommend any good sets on Amazon?
I haven't taken down any of my pages. I know Schaaf has some good starter gouges for beginners for reasonable prices. I'd get their premium sets because they come pre-sharpened. You can never go wrong with Pfeil. They are top quality, but you will pay for it. My first set was Pfeil and I still use those gouges constantly.
@@ChiseledOutdoorsCC thanks so much. Excited! Like your videos
Beautiful! Where did you found the photo?
Thank you! I designed it myself. It wasn't carved from a photo.
Hey man looks great, the etsy site is broken though!
thank you. also thanks for the heads up! i'll work on fixing that
You took down your pages??? 😞
What kind of chisels do you use? Pfeil?
Tim Collins Yeah they are Pfeil chisels.
@@ChiseledOutdoorsCC thought so. Love your work. Very talented.
Tim Collins thanks!!
What wood are you using
The wood I used in this video is white pine.
👏👏👏 from Brazil.
beautiful
thanks
BIUTIFULLLLLL work my friend 👍🏾👏🏾🙏🏾❤️, thank you for sharing your wise experiences!🙏🏾, I am a new subscriber!!!
Awesome! thanks for subscribing!
Love these videos man. I'm very new to carving but these are helping a LOT!
What's did you use to finish it? Is it stain?
That’s great! Yeah it’s spot stained with a darker stain to enhance the depth a bit more and a lighter stain was used throughout the entire carving.
Wow!
very beautiful a good gift
Thanks!
