      I’m glad you found the video helpful and exciting. Just keep in mind the potential latency incurred by the processing of the computer. Outside of that, it is a truly exciting option to expand your capabilities.

    Thank you very much for doing this. I use Reason and pondered how to do this for a long time. I will be giving it a go later. While I wish I could click the like button a million times I think it would also help to tag *X32/M32* in the title that may also help people finding things to this great tutorial.

    Great video Allen thank you so much. I'm using 1-24 as Local in. And 25-32 as card returns, vocals channels have fx send to a reverb/eq. Then that bus returns on the board to ch 31&32. Any thoughts on that setup are welcome.

    • @AllamHouse

      That seems like a bunch of additional FX, but as long as it works for you and doesn’t become a distraction... I say roll with it.

      @@AllamHouse I'm using (OBS Streaming) and I wish there was a way of routing the output of (obs) to a couple of aux inputs.

    • @AllamHouse
      @AllamHouse  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I guess I’m not exactly sure what you are trying to accomplish. It sounds like your stream audio is being built in your console (and maybe using some FX through a DAW). Then this stream audio mix is going to OBS for a stream. At that point everything should be in your console to allow you to route other places. Maybe I’m missing something. I do handle consultation calls if you think that would be faster. Just fill out the contact card at sound.AllamHouse.com

      @@AllamHouse Yep you nailed it. 👍 I like monitoring a Band's live stream mix after it has passed through OBS. Unfortunately, obs seems to only output to ch 1-2 stereo. That means during sound checks I lose Local inputs 1-8 if I want to hear what the stream might sound like. As 1-8 has to be set to (Card In). It would be glorious if I could monitor the obs output on 2 Aux channels instead. Thanks so much, AllamHouse for the great conversation

    • @AllamHouse
      @AllamHouse  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We used to do this on a Windows machine and just had basic 1/8” to 1/4” TRS cable going from the headphone output of the computer back to Aux 1/2 on the console. You can then solo those into some monitors or headphones. Be careful as it can introduce a groundloop.

    Good evening
    How do you record songs from your band on your digital board, for the band director to the use to edit the song with all the different instruments in the song on separate tracks? Is that called a DAW? That’s hooked up to the board?? Please advise, or do you have a video for that. Thanks, Claude

    • @AllamHouse
      @AllamHouse  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) is a computer application that is used to record audio from your soundboard. You can then start to think like a home studio person and mix the tracks in the DAW or send the tracks back to the console to mix on the console. Here is a video that can get you start as well as a playlist I have for practicing in a free DAW.

    • @AllamHouse

      Which part exactly? The basic slide I used was made in Google Draw. All of the actual video is captured on my iPhone XR and edited in HitFilm Express and my screen capture portions are done using OBS and my X32 console. I hope that helps.

    Great video, thanks! Got a multi-facet question for you.
    In this setup, it would seem you are using just one computer (and one program) for your stream audio and to add an fx bus. If that's the case, would that be the same computer you are streaming from? Or are you sending processed stream audio back to the console go be sent elsewhere? I ask because I didn't know if running studio one/ableton AND streaming would be too big a drain on computer resources, bc I've never tried. Maybe you covered that in another video and I just missed it. Lmk if that doesn't make sense, thanks!

    • @AllamHouse
      @AllamHouse  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Personally, my mix is all handled in the X32 console and then routed to a video switcher for the stream. I don’t personally use any ‘outboard’ (on the computer) FX at my church, but ai had some people ask how to do it which sparked this video. There are plenty of people that run a DAW for mixing on the same computer they stream from, you just need to make sure you have a dedicated video card (GPU) to offload the video portion to so your CPU is free for these other things. I would certainly run a test stream to make sure everything runs smooth.

      @@AllamHouse I'm using OBS for streaming, routing my X32 stereo outputs (Bus 1&2 for instance) into an audio interface....but I'm not getting the stereo sound (when solo-ing the linked buses 1 & 2, I'm getting the panned channels).
      Question is, can I feed-in the "Stream buses" into the card using this video, and have OBS pick it up as an input (by-passing the audio interface), and produce a stereo sound on my Live stream?

    • @AllamHouse

      Yes, go ahead and use the X-USB card on the back of the console to connect to your streaming device and bypass the interface. This video will walk you through the steps since you are using a MixBUS. th-cam.com/video/Vx4HjArTeZI/w-d-xo.html

      I don’t currently have access to Cubase, but as long as you can setup a single input channel, an FX rack to send your signal to and a stereo return you will be good. I’ll keep this on my list to look into Cubase in the future.
