About FNF
Friday Night Funkin' is a rhythm game in which the player must pass multiple "weeks", each usually containing three songs.[note 1] Each week, the player typically faces a different opponent.
During gameplay, the opponent will sing a pattern of notes which the player must mirror by pressing the arrow keys or WASD. At the bottom of the screen is a bar indicating how well the player is doing. The left side of the bar is red, representing the opponent. The right side is green, representing the player. Successfully hitting notes will increase the size of the player's bar, while missing notes causes the opponent's bar to expand. The player fails if the opponent's bar fills up the entire bar.
For each week, the player has the option to select one of three difficulties: Easy, Medium, and Hard. As difficulty increases, the speed of incoming arrows increases and the patterns of arrows become more complicated. The player's high score for each week on each difficulty is tracked and shown in the top corner of the week selection screen.

Alright so here is my ongoing theory about all of katies animations in general. So Katie did confirm on her twitter that all of her animations are in the same universe. This brings up a couple questions, like how did they turn into paper and why Alice's room is not paper like the rest of the school. Another thing i've seen a lot is the triangle symbol with the two vertical lines in it. This triangle is mostly associated with Alice, a character from katies other animations Agetha and the werewolf. Miss Grace also has this on the paper on her horn. (you could also say that Claire is associated with it too but idk) The triangle has a couple meanings from what i could find. One is the air sign, but the triangle only has one line through it, and the other one is that it is the sign for dragonewts. I was originally thinking that Alice might be a dragonewt but im still expanding on this theory. I'm pretty sure that the triangle is a demonic symbol or something. another thing is that in the basics video, right at 0:57 when abbie is running from Miss Circle you can see a paper with the triangle on it with 3 "???" on it. And at 3:14 outside of Alices room there is a pentagram and a bunch of eyes. so what i'm thinking so far is that there is just a crap ton of demons running around lol. Another symbol that pops up a lo tis the symbol that Oliver has on his shirt. I think this might be a type of protection from demons and bad things so he doesn't get hurt by Alice and the other demons (i'm assuming that Miss Circle and the other teachers are demons and also Oliver and Alice are canonically dating) Another symbol is the crucifix which Xister and another character (who's name was never told) have on. this is where Fen comes in. I pretty positive that Alice and Fen are close to the same type of demon. One bc of the hands and changing form in general, and two bc of their cannibalistic nature. This would also mean that maybe the teachers (plus Engel?) are close to the same type just a little less demonic. Xister and Fen are also most likely dating (from what i can tell happened in the animations) so it would make sense that he would need to be protected just in case. The other one with the cross also is seen in the art from Katie to be hanging out with demonic type things. This being the werewolf and Agetha. (they are seen with the triangle symbol too if you forgot) I just wanted to also point out that Agetha has a noose around their neck, which would imply that they h@nged themself. Plus if you look at their old design, they don't have that noose. I don't have much info on the werewolf besides that he kills and has the same weapon that Fen had in one of the animations. another thing is that Fen killed this other character, who's name is Lume II. Lume is also seen with the character who has the cross. So what does this all mean? idk tbh this is all that i have found out so far. All i know is that there is some demonic stuff going on in this world that Katie has made lol :D

One theory i have that is more about the rules of the world is that Alice is the only character who can permanently kill people. This would explain the 3 psycho teachers being pretty afraid of her and why otherwise they are pretty brazen about people dying. Besides, from some art of the series, we know characters can survive without vital organs [Oliver literally ripping his heart out as a gift to alice.]
This would mean that characters like abbie and lana will most likely come back, which is probably good since they got fridged out the gate.
It would also explain why ms circle is so aggressive throughout literally everything and seems to have become not really scared but more cautious with alice around. Alice is the one thing that can destroy what she considers her food source, and so we may see her actually working with others to get alice out of the picture again, not out of any want to help, but rather for her own self-preservation.
Also oliver isnt actually a student, based on some info hes like a teacher's assistant.
If people could respawn then no one would care about death. The reason we find death scary is because we will never be able to see the dead person again and because we know that when we die we are gone from this world forever. We wouldn't fear death if we just respawn. Also if everybody just respawns then the series becomes boring. If Abbie and Lana respawned then whats the point of showing them dying in the first place? If people just respawned why are they always horrified when they see a corpse or see someone die(

another is that it could be incredibly painful to die, or that it takes time to heal, so it is still bad

The reason why Engel didn't die was probably because he fought them off, which would take major paper balls to actually attempt that.

i guess anthor reason is that he techinically didnt break any rules or fail their class reason why the other 2 died is well academically they where bad and where all ready on the radar while engel wasnt. plus with Miss circle being the 2nd strongest villian being able to make craters in concrete and knock off metal doors shes physically powerful than the other teachers with the only one being stronger than her being alice. being able to stop her attack ( witch she is going for a killshot) would mean engel is alot stronger than he looks he did have them all shook that he was able to stop that attack. but the main thing why they didnt kill him is he didnt break any of the rules and they maybe can only kill thoses who have broken a rule. expect for zip and oliver they ( they more than likely cant hurt oliver without getting aliced to death and zip is olivers friend) this doesnt protect them from getting scolded though.

The (Most probable) reason that the teachers didn't straight up kill Engel was because he is
1: Their species most likely so they wouldn't want to kill him
And
2: He was able to hold his own against them due to being their species
Also it is CANON that Oliver and Alice are dating
(This isn't shipping fan thing there is official art of them together, and there is a paper next to Oliver, with Alice on it and writing saying "My GF")
It's more likely he has good grades or he's an ignorance to them so they have no reason to kill them

A theory of mine is that Alice might be in some sort of containment, possibly under a deal with someone in the school to stay in the room for whatever reason
she is not a student, and I think she could be from some sort of different reality or dimension, hence why she isn't made of paper

Are we like completely sure that Oliver isn't a student? Cause like in one of Kaatie's community posts she refers to him as a student, and it's in the wiki. Also if he wasn't a student why does he has a A+ in his hair? If he wasn't a student why would ge get a grade- I mean I guess it could be questionable design choice. I mean maybe he's like a super senior or something?
13:05 While this is a relatively good theory, I feel like there are still some issues with it that kind of undermine it.
*1.* If some teachers are purposely making their class purposely too hard, how are only a few select amount of students failing with the majority doing fine? I feel like having one or two students seriously struggle is normal for a class where the difficulty level matches the grade the students are in.
Some students just have a harder time comprehending the material and eventually fail a test. I've personally witnessed it countless times.The only difference is that an actual good teacher would help them instead of what the FPE teachers do.
*2.* If Miss Thavel is making her class too easy, how would that give her more failing students to eat?
In fact, even though her strategy seems to guarantee everyone to pass, we see the main character, Claire, fail her class in the animation itself. You can have a bad day and do poorly on a test, but it doesn't make sense for something that is "baby level". This is very counter-intuitive, and leads me to believe there is something else going on.
Possibly, a test that has been rigged to fail no matter what you put down which fits better with what we have seen compared to a class that's too hard to pass.
*3.* Clearly, other students know about the Bloomie, Thavel, and Circle's behavior as we can see the students witness the teachers chasing and attacking Claire in the animation.
If they have already seen this kind of thing happen before, why do they still go to school? They clearly head home after school and come back which we see in the beginning of the animation as Claire walks to school. What is motivating them to take the risk of attending this school if math, science, and language class is rigged against them?
Clearly, the students seem desensitized to the evil behavior of the teacher and even Alice's existence, not really caring all that much until either they fail a test, a friend fails a test _(like in Engel's case),_ or until someone releases Alice and brings color to the school.
In fact, in the animation, we see that Alice has been outside her room before (at 7:27) but the school doesn't have color during that scene. Only when Claire enters and leaves Alice's room does color occur.
All in all, I think the FPE universe is very interesting and has a lot of aspects that we just don't have a clear answer on. Hopefully, Kaaatie expands upon it and provides some answers!

the other students didn't become "real" in the last part of the video. the people witnessing claire's death still stayed in the paper style, just with more lighting/shading .. Maybe this could be some sort of metaphor that the students have witnessed enough death and violence in this school that they've simply become jaded to it. perhaps the reason why claire kept her color was because she was new to the school and all the bloodshed happening in it was still unfamiliar to her.. however, there's still Fen and that red flags animation to think about though. you'd think that claire would already be used to seeing horrifying things considering that she knows the absolute monster that is fen
i might be overanalyzing too much, but take for example ruby and robby's intro pic and the way they both reacted to seeing claire dead at the end of the animation. while ruby looks disturbed, robby doesn't seem that upset compared to her. maybe it's because of the amount of murder attempts he keeps getting from riley...
most of the students weren''t really concerned for claire when she was being chased, and no one did anything when abbie got chased out of the classroom. they're all used to this, and they're just trying to keep doing good in class so that they don't become miss circle's next meal. they choose to close their eyes and turn their heads away from all the violence going on in the paper school, ignoring it and only keeping their empathy for the ones they're close to. some prefer to embrace the brutality, using it as a way to torment other students and to cope with the sheer intensity of this school. these students will forever be trapped in a labyrinth of white paper and black ink, eventually seeing their classmates' murders as an everyday thing.
I wasn't talking about the other students being upset they pretty much haven't talked to Claire but they looked kinda surprised lol but they are pretty much unbother

I think this entire animation is based off what it school does to their mental health because as he said one part of the video “ it’s weird how circle is eating little bit of the students instead of eating them whole” I think what they meant by didn’t eat them entirely. They rip them apart slowly I don’t know tho tell me your theories

My 2 cents on the dying status:
In my headcanon, when they die, I don't think they die for good, because at the start of the song, they say that they go to the school everyday, meaning that they are forever stuck to go into the school and to keep getting killed.

As Ms Sasha is holding a goat child in her hand, I think Ms Sasha could be some what of a kindergarten teacher, cause all those ocs (even Chip) in the back look like small children. So not if only teenagers are in the school, it could be both for kids and teens.
Also, I wanna catch this sooner. Besides Katie saying Miss Circle's horns look like animal ears and telling her viewers to stop calling them ears (which is funny), people mostly say that she looks like a cat. but if they were ears, I think they have to be wolf ears. Considering that she ate Lana and Abbie, I don't think a cat might fit, lol. (It's just my thought)

Im just gonna say my favourite is bubbles, she's just cute, but her design is also interesting.
I remember the painful time when i was in Kindergarten it was the worst year of my life... it's because my kindergarten teacher hates me to the gut but mostly to the other students but the worst of all is my oldest librarian teacher but don't want to tell there names.
These two teachers are very stricted and toxic that my kindergarten teacher writes our names that she hates while everyone else trying to be perfect but some of them got names on the board broken their hearts badly like Abby Lee but 2.0 but i really hated when she call me Kadon it really annoys me sometimes. The Librarian teacher took it a whole new level that when i say "hi" to her she responded to me by "shut up" that's really mean ans hurt my feelings a lot. But it Gets worse when i have no recess these ganged up on me while everyone else enjoying my suffering or feel bad for me.
And that's why i don't like my childhood that much but at least I'm happy that I'm in the bright future and now I'm college passed my freshman year. 😌 And thanks for the video man. 👍

Fun fact, there was a preschool teacher in the classroom next to my preschool classroom who would threaten to eat her students, I would sometimes hear her yelling and I would hear kids screaming, I dazed off during a class once and got sent into her classroom where I was obviously threatened. Miss circle is apparently also able to retract her compass and remove her black arm thing (idfk what it is), you can see how she does not have it in the scene where they are walking in the hallway, yet with alot of the other scenes where miss circle is seen in can be found with the compass on her hand.

9:11 one thing I wanna point out is Miss Thravel have obtained antlers like a deer, so maybe she goes through something like Alastor when she gets really pissed off. We also see her letter block flower crown is completely gone, so maybe that's what's hiding her antlers? Or she just went full demon mode and she got an outfit change.

I think it may be a metaphor, as Ms. Circle kills with a slap across the face, then another, a reflection of how it feels, a stab to the head, like drilling this pain into the kids head, and then biting them, like chewing them out.

It is everyone’s school
One thing about alice is that she's not like the other paper students or teachers, she's not really paper at all but a physical being. She seems to be somewhat human as she had a neck and ears unlike all yhe other characters that have a floating head, obviously the teachers are afraid of alice. When Claire is running torwards her room there are eyes and a pentagram which explains why shes so dark, not to mention she's covered in bandages on her chest and legs, so shes probably injured at some point. But the teachers are afraid of her meaning she's obviously more powerful, she can shapeshift and teleport meaning she does have more power than the teachers. The thing about the claws with engel does seem to be true, he's most likely rated to one of the teachers or are the same kind of person. Alice being a princess and pulling all the strings does seem to make a lot of sense which i believe, what i dont understand is why she was so violent or where she came from and why shes so dark. Alice is most likely the reason why teachers like cirlce bloomie and thavel are so vicious, but it may be that alice is the influence for the three and that are so vicious, and so they probably worship her as alice is a princess, and so they dont want anyone to know about alice or anything of her origin so circle advises that nobody goes in her room. Another thing is that alice and thw principal have the same teiangle symbol (alices necklace and the paper on the principals head) meaning that the principal may also be related to alice.
I still can’t imagine who willingly goes to a school like that 💀

Tbh I think that the blackened claws that Engel, Ms. Circle, and Alice have are simply a part of how Kaatie designs their characters, since other characters in their animations have the same blackened claws.

I like Engel he steps up with his own life to protect one he cares about just for that one to die and for him to be alive for him to see it. He seems like a brave soul that I pity greatly. Personally the lore behinds this animation makes me think a lot more then my school ever did and my exams are this week so Ms circle finna be after me
Theory: alice might be the one that is at a higher place then the principal (i forgot the name) if she dont mess with the kids unless they annoy her that seens like a thing that could be true. This theory is not meant to be canon nor seen as a true thing, this is just a guess.

I love the animation it inspired me to draw more ive been doing sketches of the charaters i love the art style so much! Ive drew Miss Circle, Oliver, and now im doing Abbie.
another thing is, if you notice the symbol on the principal and oliver’s design (maybe other characters who knows), they have the same symbol as Alice’s necklace. I think it’s a way for them not to get hurt by Alice, like a protection shield

Personally, I don't agree with the part where you say the teachers either make their subjects too easy to pass or too hard. Miss Thavel was probably just teaching the basics of each language just like a spanish teacher would, and it would make sense for that to happen since Claire is a new student. As for Miss Boomie, science usually starts off with a complicated topic. Maybe she was explaining the basic and it looked complicated, but either way, science isnt an easy subject regardless. It would also make sense for Claire to fail 3 classes since she was constantly being picked on by Oliver and the gang (I refuse to believe that guy is 20 years old, at best he should be 18 and since it is high school, he could just be on his final grade). As for why the 3 didn't kill Engel, its most definitely because hes a passing student in their class, Miss Circle most likely killed Lana to remove a witness, but it could also be because she also failed Miss Circle's class.
Facts I know about fundamental paper education:
-you see when miss Bloomie holds Claire’s test paper? She seems shocked that she has to kill Claire as they both look like mother and daughter but we don’t know that yet and when Claire hides in a locker Miss Bloomie goes past her as if she is pretending to chase Claire and when the three teachers circled her Miss Bloomie looks like she was pretending to be like miss circle and Miss Thavel since the two look like they were completely monsters so Miss Bloomie must act along so that they don’t hate her and when Alice started to chase Claire, the three teachers pop out again when Claire ran out of Alice’s room and see Miss Bloomie? She looks pretty guilty for Claire that she went into Alice’s room,in the last part when miss circle said “zip oliver, what are you doing?” Miss Bloomie looks angry at zip and Oliver for pranking Claire that Alice’s room is the exit door.
-next in the library we see Edward not having horns and he looks pretty different.
-we also see in the last part Miss grace looks like she has a scratch on her forehead and a broken horn and the scratch looks similar when Claire got scratched by Alice so there is a theory that Miss grace probably wanted Alice to be out of the school for her students safety and tries to fight alice but failed so that’s why she kept her away in a room
-also in one of Kate’s post on twitter there was this post called “childhood memories” and Oliver and Alice in it and Oliver was on the swings wearing a dress so my theory is that he is trans and also actually might be a girl.(my theory)
-we also see a post in Kate’s twitter and zip now has wings and a tail? For Oliver he now has fangs and his A+ grade is now the symbol like Miss grace and Alice for the lasts is Edward he now knows some knowledge for once and he looks like he has a new design and probably a scientist.
One small detail is: Alice has the same symbol on her necklace as the principal (the principal has the symbol on a piece of paper on her left horn)
