i mean... to be fair... realistically climbing a dragon is probably the last thing a sane person would try to do... which is kinda why your character gets chosen to be arisen and not all the other soldiers doing normal soldiery things.
@nbkhnzzr when only about 25% of your combat is climbing you have to get it working with about that percentage of resources and time commitment too. Shadow of the colossus was basically a climbing simulator with a dope ass coat of paint. Of course it's climbing was amazing.
Things I would love to see as a long time fan 1. More in-depth character customization 2. Longer pawn evaluation to determine their behaviors 3. More than three moves at a time for warriors 😂
The 2012 has every game beat in how customization effects gameplay. Your physical capabities change based on how your body is built. How much more do you need? Are your talking more control on facial appearence and looks? The first game had plenty. Too much customization will take away time playing the game and sweet dev time making the actual game.
And what I love to see is new ideas. Stop the kill everything mentality. I feel sorry for the amazing wildlife. Why not, if you kill these eagle things and cyclops you create a terrible goblin plague, or plague of whatever they eat? Ecological cause and effect would be much more interesting. Also the big monsters seem so slow and stupid. They should be more dangerous, so people have to plan such attacks instead of having a 'fun small incident'.
if you're talking about the cyclops, the big lumbering green giant with the club, then it's by design, they are slow and stupid, but also insanely strong, so their shtick is slow but powerful attacks @@KootFloris

2:13 pawn Max casted a fire spell but swapped to healing and it looks like he kept the progress of the previous spell he tried to cast. Edit: it's probably just the the quick cast ability but it's good to see that pawns do use it.
its not just 1 button combat lol you have your standard combo string it has variations with light and heavy then you also have your special attacks, counters, and charge attacks maybe play the first game before saying dumb stuff

I need this game to be as good as the first game if not BETTER. Dragon's Dogma as a series deserves so much more love, the first game is really an amazing time and the pawn system is so damn cool. Also hope its expanded upon in this game. Honestly I just want them to expand upon everything from the original, why make new mechanics when you can just make the existing ones better and more in depth?
Yeah, i don't remember Buckbeak being that big, i love how the scaling of the monsters and the wildlife feels otherworldly, and the pay off from hunting these monsters never disappoint! Its a good choice that they also split up the daggers and bow class, into two separate ones, imo it gives more balance in the party, and not having your archers going to the frontline to deal finishing blows. Can't wait for this game!

It seems so. R1 is relegated to class action. With the Fighter it blocks and with the Archer you do precise aiming. Then L1 gives you 4 slots now instead of 3. From gameplay it seems they refined the gameplay, and while only 4 ability slots seemed disappointing at first, couple those 4 with the base attacks and skills for each class and it looks like the options are now double than the original game. We're gonna have to wait and get our hands on the game to see how it truly feels to play the game.

I'm playing the first one, and BOY! What a cool game. it melds old school JRPG with new school JRPG and Western RPG, and what a mix! I want ever thing that part 1 has, but just 2x more because this game is so great. Other than that, I did wish that pawns had characters to them, much akin to that of like Rimworld where each pawn felt unique and different and caused their own victories and defeats based on their traits and personality. If Dogma can do that, recruiting pawns itself will be an adventure.
I see a nice new minimap, significantly improved textures, completely new places that I haven't seen before in the first installment, but I have the impression that it's the same game.
What i love in dragon dogma is how meaty the fight and semi realistic the character is ( like we all small, a normal human who fight with sword magic bow n arrow) not some flashy combo thingy

30fps is fine, it’s artistic, it flows it’s like a movie, and still looks good for this type of game not everything games needs to be 60fps, the 1st one wasn’t 60fps and it was still fun to play.. just be happy the game is being made and looks 100 times Superior to the original. 😊

The 30v60 debate is so tired at this point. If you want both high framerates and visual fidelity you can have that on even half-decent PCs, especially with games built in something like RE Engine.
It looks so similar to the first one, but that's a GOOD thing in my book these days. If it ain't broke don't fix it. I'll be more than happy with better graphics and a few QoL and subtle improvements. Actually the thing I'm most looking forward to is just playing a version of Dragon's Dogma that isn't totally fugged on PC widescreen resolutions.
My level of excitement for DD2 is way high I love the first one so much. I look forward to seeing this The way the feathers and wings of the Griffin moved while it was flying🤩🤩

You don’t even need to climb anything if this is like DD. You can just gun blazing your way through using ranger unless they severely nerf ranger lol.
Not only that, but the mechanic seems to completely regenerate your stamina too as long as you stand back up!

At around 7:06 you can see the player set a powder charge on the griffins face and igniting it when jumping off, this is so slick.
Fun fact: The first game was only 40% completed and amazing to play. I just downloaded the game 4 days ago on steam for $4 and I'm hooked!!!

30fps is fine, it’s artistic, it flows it’s like a movie, and still looks good for this type of game not everything games needs to be 60fps, the 1st one wasn’t 60fps and it was still fun to play.. just be happy the game is being made and looks 100 times Superior to the original. 😊
Nah, 60fps is a must. There's no comparison. Playing DDDA on pc was way more fun just bc of that

The 30v60 debate is so tired at this point. If you want both high framerates and visual fidelity you can have that on even half-decent PCs, especially with games built in something like RE Engine.

It looks so similar to the first one, but that's a GOOD thing in my book these days.
If it ain't broke don't fix it. I'll be more than happy with better graphics and a few QoL and subtle improvements.
Actually the thing I'm most looking forward to is just playing a version of Dragon's Dogma that isn't totally fugged on PC widescreen resolutions.
My level of excitement for DD2 is way high I love the first one so much. I look forward to seeing this The way the feathers and wings of the Griffin moved while it was flying🤩🤩
