The love interests in mansfield park aren't the best option and I can understand wanting a different ending! I have kings of the wyld on my shelves but I am wondering if it is really a read for me? Especially as you won't be continuing the series yourself... Emma is quite a slow book and it took me the longest to read it but I am glad you liked mansfield park more in the end! Emma is very naive and I do think her love story comes out of the left field at the end. It's not my favourite but I have grown fond of it over time. Still so sad you were disappointed by if we were villain even though you liked it overall. Especially as I prefer if we were villains to the secret history 😅 I have sorcerer to the crown and it's good to know it is very different to her others and feels a bit more debut?? Before she has come into her own writing style and themes most likely.
I definitely consider Kings of the Wyld a standalone, it wraps up nicely on its own which is part of the reason that any sequels feel unnecessary to pick up. I don't think it'll be a new favourite for you, but I don't think you'd dislike it. Do with that info what you will! I can see why people do like Emma, just less for me haha. I'm not surprised you prefer If We Were Villains - it's got Shakespeare! 🤣 yes Sorcerer to the Crown does feel quite different, but I think you'll still have a good time with it and it's a pretty quick read too
I read 5786 pages last moth, because I read so many Deadpool and Wolverine related comics 😂 and FINALLY, you've read Battle Drum and Kings Of The Wyld - so glad you liked them both!
