There are more than 1 million foreigners living in Taiwan currently. About 0.8 million foreigners are working or studying here at this moment and among them most are from southeast Asian countries. Vietnam and Indonesia have the biggest foreign population in Taiwan and the number of Japanese living here lags far behind. In addition there are about 0.6 million people getting married to Taiwan and most of them have naturalized in Taiwan.
