I think it is more of a "compound gear" (a back gear), instead of what you described, a "utility gear" like adrenaline which gives a small buff, adding to your playstyle (yes these are types of gear)

It's plausible that they may add combat since they take inspiration from mirror's edge which also had combat but it could kinda ruin the parkour itself imo

I feel like combat will only be added as a way to bring life onto Verna, as in, enemy NPCs all over the map so you can take them down Mirror's Edge style and earn coins or XP instead of it being a PVP Combat System.

I have mixed feelings about them adding combat to the game, It ruins it for players who suck at combat (me) and just want to have a chill parkour session, by adding pvp this could ruin it as you could get randomly attacked by a nut job.. on the other hand you brought out an amazing point on how the game would have alot more replayability

But ur back will have to face the wall so that you will have the spear in ur hand and the player will use force in the animation causing you to get launched forward

honestly.. i played mirrors edge today and now i feel like the game is just a ripoff of mirrors edge, i mean, there was combat in mirrors edge, AND OH LOOK WHATS THIS??? combat.
