I got this for my spare room. I use a PS5 mostly so its nice to have secondary console for fun.
Yea got mine from Walmart came with 2 controllers for like 290. I like it even got my old gamer tag back. Not the powerful system but does a good job. Fast . I'm a casual player so no problems. Play games online works fine ..

Your for sure going to need more storage and you are options are either buying the expansion card and you should probably order that too right now if you will because it’s on sale because of Black Friday ($130) or a hard drive but you have to transfer next gen games back and forth because it’s to slow and that takes between 15-45+ mins

Hey man! Just got this bad boy for christmas. Heard it runs your double a batteries in the drain. Wondering if you can find a good and cheap rechargeable battery for it, maybe have it in a video! Love the s, it plays most games well and uses 45% less power. For me using solar its great with gamepass. I hardly use my ps5.
Same, I bought mine on Halloween and I used my ps5 once for 30 minutes. Every game that costs money on my ps5 is free on my Xbox (gamepass). I don’t play exclusives.
Also, you mentioned 45% less power, that’s also great, because of the cost of living crisis and all that, electricity is expensive.

Although Series X is my main console I can say my best times were with the Series S. I had the S for over a year before I got the X and coming from vcr Xbox one the Series S graphics and framerate really impressed me. I still have my Series S and play it from time to time I recently beat Gears of War 1 on Series S and with fps boost it was A blast

Heres my question: i understand it does 1440P but is that for games only? Is it running movies at true 4k? (2160P) I like the sleek small design. 8k is overkill honestly. This will get the job done and its $200.00 less. I wont miss physical games. I have a small apartment and dont need a 100 game discs.

Yes. Buy it. I bought myself the same model and weeks later I got myself the WD_Black P10 external hard drive which came with a month free Game Pass Ultimate. Couple that with better backwards compatibility than Sony and being able to play all the games the Series X can with only a small drop in power and you’re set. Believe it, it’s well worth the price

It would have to as microsoft has said that it is going to be supported as much as the X, for games that will be released on the X they also have to be supported for the S. It might not be as good visually though and might take more time to port on the S though

You know tha in reality if you loke on the specs of this console,in reality it has 24 cores of rDNA 2 not 20,but they activated just 20 and put the frequency at 1.565 ghz when they could put it at at least 2 ghz.If they want just with an update the could offer up to 50 or even 70 procent of performance if they want😅😁.

The Xbox Series S may be the weakest console of this gen, yet this is the best quality/price rapport. Just hope devs will keep optimizing their games for this console and maybe Xbox could increase a bit the graphics performances in the future in order to keep up with the future most demanding games.
Edit: Okay I didn't mean to backlash the Series S. I like the console but yet many games running on it are poorly optimized.

@@Riptide2k i mean you dont NEED the expansion card. I believe after OS it has about 360GB Available, which should hold at least two of the biggest games available. More realistically 3-5 big games, and more with smaller games. You can deal with that. If you have fast internet you can download other games you already own pretty quickly as needed. Basically use the MS store as cloud storage. you can also pick up a cheap 1TB ssd in an external USB enclosure for like 40 bucks and use it as cold storage. stash some games there, load them back to the Series S when you want to play them (also last gen games will play right off the external SSD). It will be faster than the store as cloud storage method. I do that on my Series X and it typically takes like 5-7 minutes to transfer a game from my external SSD to the internal.
None of that is 1000% ideal but it will work. But IMO they just should have got rid of the 512GB model and the 1TB model should be the same price as the 512 now. But corporations gonna corporate.
Honestly I dont see myself springing for the expansion SSD this whole gen, unless i find a really good sale like 60 bucks which i doubt will ever happen. Just not really needed, granted I'm not a huge gamer and I have the X with 1TB.

#2 an online subscription is not needed to play games. You can still buy individual Digital games but an internet connection is needed.
