Personally the funniest part about working for usic is when homeowners and contractors think they know where all their utilities are lmao and as a hand dig I appreciate locators that do their best to get me a spot to dig on which could be either really shallow or super deep
This is all great in theory. However as a utility locator for 21 years, getting a contractor who is digging on the phone can sometimes be quite difficult. Usually it’s a secretary who doesn’t know much about the dig. That’s why we like to request field meetings like the one in this video. Also sending a site plan and pre-marking in white paint should be mandatory. It is not mandatory here in New York State that is some thing I wish they would change. Great videos 👍
I hope not all of his field meets go that way lol. I know it’s awkward in front of a camera but I definitely would have asked to walk the site and discuss what the prints show is in each spot and where the challenging areas are
I just got hired with USIC. Training starts Monday in Pelham, AL. I'll be working in Mobile, AL. I've been watching a bunch of your videos over the last month in anticipation of getting hired.
I quit after four months. I did not like it at all. 10 hour days plus 8 hours every other Saturday. I hated going onto people’s property. And dogs. And the possibility of snakes.

Hi, Mark. Yes, it's been a problem for a long time and could be well into the future unless there is a change in how things are done.

Yes, did the best we could without being at a dog site.

Did it take an extremely long time to hear back from hiring process? As it did me?
@@emmanuelwilliamson5503 I don't recall honestly. I only worked for them for 4 months in '21. It wasn't the job for me.
I did the Virtual interview on Friday, so when you you all think I would get a offer?
This time of year, soon.
So you had your virtual interview. How long after you virtual interview did it take to get hired. Are you still there
