I make it a point to only splurge on one meal and then eat street food or buy at the convenience stores for the other meals. I could also take a local train to Kyoto station but decided to take the bullet train because it is still inexpensive compared to a longer trip like Tokyo. We were able to experience the Shinkansen on a budget.

Yeah Bisaya represent :) For the sake of others, I'll answer you in Tagalog. Mga 5am ata kami non umalis from our hotel to Shin Osaka station to catch the first Shinkansen trip bound for Kyoto. We got lucky kasi katabi lang ng hotel namin and MRT. :)

Hi there! I used a Suica card but you can buy your tickets at Umeda station if you are coming from Osaka or at Kyoto Kawaramachi Station if you’re coming from Kyoto. This train only runs on a weekend and certain time. I’ll put the link on the description box. We took the 16:41 schedule from Kyoto

Kung JR pass ang bibilhin mo, masusulit lang sya if you have multiple long distance bullet train trips. Otherwise, malukugi ka coz limited lang to jr trains pwede mo magamit. That’s why I only used an IC card to make my trip flexible and cheaper.
