    This is just as I remmember playing it with my grandma 30 years ago. I still have that deck of “Triestine” cards that she bought for me.

    I have four Spanish decks at home, two of them are 40 card decks that go 1-7 and the three court cards, and two 48 card decks that include an 8 and 9. I do think once you play with a Spanish or Italian deck with court cards it's much more enjoyable but playing with a more familiar French suited deck with A-10 does make it easier to learn and also the better way to play the game with children, especially if they are learning addition in school this game is a good aid for that. Although if anyone has a Spanish deck with 8 and 9, then you could play it from 1-9 and the Knave (Sota) which has the 10 on it, feels the same and still easy to learn.

    I specially bought a few Italian decks for Italian games. It adds to the flavor/atmosphere, I think.

    When your hand is empty, how is it "refilled" from the deck? Does the player whose turn it is take the top 3 cards to refill their hand, or does it alternate cards from the deck between the 2 players (if they both have empty hands at the same time)?

      Great question! Hands are not refilled until both players are out of cards. Once this occurs, the dealer deals three cards to their opponent, and then three cards to themselves. :)

    What happens when one person runs out of cards in there hand before the other. Do they wait to pick up 3 till other person out too?

    • @riffleshuffleandroll
      @riffleshuffleandroll  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question! Wait until the other player also runs out of cards. Then, each player is dealt three.

    Question - when players have exhausted the cards in their hands, and they are dealt 3 new cards each, if there are no cards on the floor are 4 more cards laid down by the dealer or does the first player to go throw a card down to the empty floor?

    • @riffleshuffleandroll
      @riffleshuffleandroll  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question! The first player to go must throw a card down to the empty floor.

    Is this more of a 'luck' based game? With so few decisions, it is hard to see where the skill can save you.

      I think the skill is in remembering what has been played and collected. Playing this as a four player partnership game also changes things up. Try Scopone for a greater challenge.

    This is like a simplified version of Cassino.

    This is very similar to the Egyptian game "basra" but the Egyptian version has couple more roles make it much more fun ❤

    You captured two fours instead of the card 8. This is not alowed.
