I highly recommend this one Gaz, it’s both incredibly heartwarming as it is tragic, while also having elements of comedy and action. Angel Beats is one of my most favorite and cherished anime’s, the first time I watched it it was with my late older brother. We had so many moments of greatness and laughs but also a lot of feels and intensity. This one sticks with you❤️ I hope you give this one a go one day, I promise you’ll have a lot of fun while also having your heart ripped from your chest, in the most enjoyable way possible 💖
Angel Beats is a must see. You can't describe it, it's something you have to experience for yourself. But be prepared this goes much deeper than it appears. This was the first anime that broke me. I had to take a break from anime for a week.

But the studio only cleared 13 episode since it was a gamble if it would be a money maker since it was a brand-new story. As a result, the majority of the side character don't get the time to get fleshed out. On the up side, that means you don't have to cry nearly as much. 😅 If you were wondering, Anohana is the second media to ever make me cry. But it wasn't as heartbreaking as Angel Beats was.
I vouch Angel Beats! As one of the best anime of all time from what it presents to you and actually fulfills it to the end. Despite the ending that for some might be a let down (extremely emotional btw) I think this anime completes everything that it promises through it's premise, even though it's a really short anime. I just absolutely love that even the name of the opening have an actual MEANING to the lasting episodes of the anime... it makes you say: "woah, that's why the song is called 'My soul, your beats'"... it actually still gets me even though that has been like 6 years now that I've watched the show.

Charlotte was made by the same writers and director I believe so it makes sense why it’s that good.
