@@KGFClassicCars Very nice to see one like this again. It's a beautiful car. The bumpers also are still very nice and dark, and the black Vauxhall badges haven't faded off the wheel trim centres like they did at just a few years old. The Cavalier L was a light, fast car as well, almost matching the same-age Ford 2.0 Pinto.
My dad had a 1986 1.6 L 4 door when I was learning to drive. I really liked that car. I was gutted the day he had me take it to the local scrap yard. If I had storage, I would love a mk2 Cavalier.
I love how you showcase what was at the time regular cars. It reminds me how things used to be and makes me happy I can see them at their best. I've seen too many of these weathered away by time and abuse.
Yeh the U.K. & Australia shared many models but just named differently. Obviously Holden & Vauxhall are the same company, but just badged up different.
KGF Classic Cars I seem to remember the wheel trims for those was like you'd cut round a tax disc about a mm outside the perforations as it just plain as you like with a load of little holes round the outside.
Absolutely stunning!! I am so glad that some of these old Vauxhalls are looked after. They're often overshadowed by Fords. My dad had a red mk1 Astra 1300S estate A841 TOU. My friend's mum had a green mk2 Cavalier estate. This takes me back. Thank you.
My father got same car and color in the past, but its called opel ascona ,this car is very fast and powerful,my mother once drive it in high way and she got the speed of 190 km without filling that speed.i looooove this car so much.
Love these and the mark 1 Astra, always found the interiors of both particularly pleasing (but preferred the instrument binnacle of the pre-facelift Cav).
My Dad had a brand new GL in 1985 and although it was a digital tuner radio it was AM only (I think anyway - I was 8 at the time and I couldn't see why he was replacing it when it looked cool) and he replaced it with something from Tandy which I remember looking horrendous.
I know that’s just my sense of humour 🤭 by the way I love your garage and always checking in to see the stock. I’m in the process of building a new bigger garage and will be looking to put something in it 👍

Time warp treasure. Best reps car ever. I did 53000 miles in mine in 15 months. I could actually get the speedo to read 140mph going flat out downhill!! (Not that it was remotely accurate...)
Mint car as always👍. I know of a 1983 Vauxhall Royale auto that’s done 10k miles and it’s the same condition as this. Don’t think the owner will sell though🤣👍

@@KGFClassicCars definitely not mate. Vauxhall used cellulose paint back in the day. That's fresh new paint, the finish is fresh, not even mopping a 40 year old car would produce that finish. Even with just 29k on the odometer, no stone chips too?! Really?! I used to work in a leading paint shop. Definitely a full respray Bud.
Bruuuuuuummmm...Dip the clutch...SQUEAK!...Into second...Release the clutch...SQUEAK... This can't be a genuine Cavalier... Genuine ones have special "bubbles" on the back arches. Beautiful Cav. Had dozens of these in my early years... And it isn't the colour of Emus Pink Windmill... Whats going on???
I think in fairness Vauxhall interiors were always a bit drab and at odds with their sometimes extravagant exteriors. Mark 2 Astra GTE looked like it had come from space at launch, but digi dash aside it was just Vauxhall doing their thing. Calibra too, just such a contrast between exterior and interior. But I think they were quite well put together, but you also have to weigh it up against everything else in the period. I think they were a little uninspiring compared to the rest but it's not like anyone was doing anything terribly pleasant.
The Sierras, PSAs, VWs, you name it of the same era were really no better tbh. They were all dull & dreary as. Heck even BMWs & Mercs were quite drab with thier black vinyl panels & stodgy dashboards, albet they were well put together I'll g8ve ye. Only folk really puttin any real effort into an interior back then imo was yer Luxury makes. Maybe some of the Alfas, Lancia's & Citroen too but ye get ma drift. Most mainstream interiors weren't that extravagant. They all followed similar design trends of the day much the same as they do now, black, black, grey & Occasionally silver n the odd splash of colour here n there.
The only red Vauxhall from the eighties never to have turned pink!
So true...the red colour never lasted long!
Mine turned pink someone tried to break into it so I had the door sprayed the door was red but the rest of the car was pink
They did suffer from paint fade this one is still nice and red!

I drove an 1985 1.6 model 4 door in blue used as a taxi in 1991/92. a great car.
Great cars we love them here!
Amazing. Plain, beautiful and simple!! A tribute to its previous owner!
We agree, amazing!

Out here in Australia we called them a Holden Camira. Ours was styled a little different on the front and back.

A truly pristine example of a once popular car, now very rare, hopefully it will find a loving owner.

I had one of those. I put a 5 speed box and a gls dash with rev counter into it. Straight swop. Brings back memories

The red socks return! - i wander if you drive any of the classics on the road with those socks lol.
Good on ya!
We like red socks!
What a find! These are so scarce now.
Rare these days!
What a beaut. Takes me back to my white Cavalier Conquest hatchback. The sparse interior gets me excited- do I need help?....
You need another Cavalier! Come to think of it, so would I!
Yes you need a cavalier!
Aqui no Brasil conhecido como chevrolet monza produzido nos anos de 1983 a 1990.

I had an identical one on a B plate to replace an ageing Cortina. Preferred the styling of the saloon over the hatchback version
Same here!
Good car cavalier Reminds me so much of my dad he had one in hearing aid beige lol

KGF Classic Cars Ahhh... So both the L and GL got a snazzy digital tuner but no FM. Still nice it has the period one in it.
Red car red socks just a perfect retro combination...... 🤣🤘😎🤘

It's about time he changed those 'Red Socks'. They must absolutely reek now 😀
