Hank Snow was born in Liverpool Nova Scotia Canada. Moved the Nashville in 1949. His song I’m Moving On, was top of the Country Hit Parade for 21 weeks. A record that has never been beaten. He was very big in Train songs. Golden Rocket, Canadian Pacific. His, I’ve Been Everywhere, song, is truly a special. I’m a fan of his, you might say !!!!!!!!!!!

Waylon and Johnny. 2 legends that can never be replaced. The new country, hell new music in general can't even hold a candle to this. These 2 had more talent in there little finger than ALL of the musicians today put together. When Johnny said "Hello I'm Johnny Cash" it demanded your attention. When Waylon sang songs like "Waymores blues" or "Don't you think this outlaw bit done got out of hand" you knew it was sincere. These men honestly cared about the music. Now days all the music industry pumps out are a bunch of cowboy, pretty boy, pussies born without balls or a backbone. All the executives want are meat puppets who will record whatever bullshit the suits want and pump out more generic music that does not offend or captivate people. These legends did music there way, no compromises and no bullshit. John fought like hell to cut his "Live at Folsom" record and Waylon did the same to cut "Wanted the outlaws". They say music died in 1959 and we lost a lot of talent in a plane crash that year (it also haunted Waylon for the rest of his days) BUT I think music didn't die that night but it was badly wounded and it has slowly died off over the last 55 years. The music has died now thanks to executives and cookie cutter music that has no heart and thanks to the fact that none of the new "artists" have the guts to stand up and record new songs that made a statement like "Sunday mornin commin down" or "Are you shure Hank done it this way" did decades ago. These 2 men had balls big enough to haul in dump trucks and the newbies sing shit like "1994" or some other bullshit that sounds like garbage and takes no imagination.

Agreed. I think American popular culture generally was murdered when the bog corporations took it over and turned it into mass produced garbage aimed at the lowest common denominator of the public. Popular music was actually created by the people and for the people - we had local radio stations that were independent and could program whatever they wanted to. Now, a few giant corporations control all the radio stations and programming is dictated from corporate headquarters. We lost whatever little democracy we ever had and the giant corporations now control our whole world - politically and culturally. Kids growing up today have no idea about the rich legacy of American popular music and popular culture generally. They think rap is actually music! Because it’s all they’ve ever known. That’s how ignorant and dumbed down they are. We have to take back our country and get rid of the corporate banker parasites who’ve stolen it from us.

WOW!!!! Johnny used to talk about Hank Snow being his favorite and both of these two spoke, in their autobiographies, about singing Hank Snow songs when they were young. I have been waiting for a long time to hear Cash do this one. Made my night to hear this. Loved Hank Snow music as well as these two.

Johnny recorded a version of "I'm Movin' On" during the American Recordings years, and it was included on the 2003 compilation, Unearthed. I prefer that version.

That big eight-wheeler rollin' down the track
Means your true-lovin' daddy ain't comin' back
I'm movin' on, I'll soon be gone
You were flyin' too high, for my little old sky
    So I'm movin' on
That big loud whistle as it blew and blew
Said hello to the southland, we're comin' to you
When we're movin' on, oh hear my song
You had the laugh on me, so I've set you free
    And I'm movin' on
Mister fireman won't you please listen to me
'Cause I got a pretty mama in Tennessee
Keep movin' me on, keep rollin' on
So shovel the coal, let this rattler roll
    And keep movin' me on
Mister Engineer, take that throttle in hand
This rattler's the fastest in the southern land
To keep movin' me on, keep rollin' on
You gonna ease my mind, put me there on time
    And keep rollin' on
I've warned you baby, from time to time
But you just wouldn't listen or pay me no mind
So I'm movin' on, I'm rollin' on
You've broken your vow, and it's all over now
    So I'm movin' on
You've switched your engine now I ain't got time
For a triflin' woman on my main line
So I'm movin on, you done your daddy wrong
I warned you twice, now you can settle the price
    'Cause I'm movin on
But someday baby when you've had your play
You're gonna want your daddy but your daddy will say
Keep movin' on, you stayed away too long
I'm through with you, too bad you're blue
    Keep movin' on

"Although primarily remembered as a country music icon, his genre-spanning songs and sound embraced rock and roll, rockabilly, blues, folk, and gospel. This crossover appeal won Cash the rare honor of multiple inductions in the Country Music, Rock and Roll, and Gospel Music Halls of Fame." - Wikipedia
