  • Wednesday July 13 2022 mid morning. Old Coulsdon forms the southernmost point of London 15 miles due south of Central London. Coulsdon has a small town centre a little to the north-west of Old Coulsdon and is bounded by Purley to the north and beyond that, Croydon, and the Surrey villages of Woodmansterne and Chipstead to the west. About 26,000 people live here. The drive starts at the southern point of the shopping area in Brighton Road and heads north bearing left at the traffic lights and up to the turning for Old Coulsdon. It then returns to the traffic lights by Coulsdon Methodist Church where it goes right on to the the A23 Farthing Way and under the flyover which is Coulsdon Town Station. After that it pulls off the main road and stops a little west of where the trip started. We then return to the Northern end of the shopping area and go right at the central roundabout into Chipstead Valley Road.

Up to 2012 I would go through London on the way to the south coast, on Bicycle camping trips. I've done that many times, and would try to go through different parts of the city each time. Adrian; UK/England
