Brad, I know your channel is really new, but you are quickly becoming one of my favorite bourbon channels on TH-cam. It's not that our pallete's necessarily match, but I really like your format and delivery. I have the Maker's Heartwood and I actually quite enjoy it. Also not my favorite, but I think it was well worth the MSRP I found it for at my local Costco. I have not tried the 2024 Cellar aged, but I do have a 2023 bottle that is pretty amazing. In regards to your review, I've seen a few others who also feel that one falls well short of the "Mark"(pun intended). Keep on keeping on brother!!
You should have grabbed the mocha lost recipe it was great while the cellar age and heartwoood disappointed. Agree 16 year old grandad was disappointing. 11 year old overholt rye cask strength was no where as good as 10 year imo.
I also truly disliked the Heart Release, but I was more disappointed with the HH Grain to Glass, both Straight and Wheated. Just not good and nowhere near worth the price. Very surprised with the Cellar Aged. I had the 2023 earlier this year, and it was the best bourbon I have had in recent memory. Glad I have not had the chance to get a 2024 now.
Friend of mine is a huge fan of Old GrandDad, he rushed out to buy it and while he likes the juice ---- he really hated the price! I tried it and all I got off of it was a strong taste of leather, it was like licking a leather boot. So I was disappointed as well. As for the Makers Mark, the only release that I enjoyed this year was The Lost Recipe which you mentioned in your review. Its like a dessert bourbon, it really has a pleasant taste of espresso on the finish that I like! I see you're getting close to 3K subscribers ---- keep up this kind of content and you will get there soon enough! Cheers!
@@bradsbourbonreviews I'm seeing it go for approx $75 so its much less $$$ than the other MM bottles that you discussed. I would "try it before you buy it" unless espresso notes are something that you think you'll enjoy.
Nice video! I’m not a Maker’s fan but I did enjoy the BEP & BRT-01, never had the Old Forester SB rye, I had a sample of OGD 16yr at my local store and I thought it was really nice but I completely agree that it’s a 120.00- 150.00 bottle. The Jack Daniels 10yr is decent but the 12yr is so much better. I keep thinking if I see a Maker’s Cellar Aged at retail I would buy it but after all the reviews I would probably trade it for something better. Cheers!
I love hearing what people don't like vs saying EVERYTHING is good. I love JD10. It beats M10 in blinds for me. I'm actually cracking MMCA24 tonight. Found 2 today. Hope it's good. Cheers🥃🥃
Great video. Never have been a MM fan. I do like OGD, but not enough to pay that much for a bottle. Part of what makes the Bonded and the 114 so good is what you get for the price. Happy Holidays. Cheers. 🥃😎 P.S. I'd give that OF a second chance. Obviously I haven't tried your bottle, but I've always liked OF Ryes.
@@bradsbourbonreviews Absolutely, brother! Great content always! There will always be difference of opinion on some bottles, but I love your approach to discussing these great whiskies! Cheers, brother!!
Enjoy your videos Brad. Happy holidays. Some great bottles in 2024, but definitely some expensibe misses too! Bomberger's (okay, but nothing special enough to warrant the hype) OF SBBP Rye (and I even paid MSRP; so green - yuck) OF Single Barrel 100 proof (keeps losing in blind after blind) Found North Batch 10 (the 9 was amazing - this one too weird for me) Stagg 24B (a $60 at best pour for whick I paid $135) Redwood Empire Emerald Giant CS (off putting nose of movie theater popcorn butter) Elmer T Lee (so many other low proofers blow it out of the water)
agree with the MM Cellar Aged, I loved last years and it was one of my favorite bottles of the year. I disliked this years version and was glad I got a sample before buying.
Now I’m worried about the old Forrester bow proof ride single barrel that I got. It was from Total Wine so I’m gonna hope it’s good. My disappointment pics of 2024 are a 1792 full proof store pic from Total Wine and a Russell’s reserve store pick from another big store. Both were very offputting.
Im actually going to seek out another single barrel to try because I refuse to believe that this coming from OF is THAT bad lol. Fingers crossed for yours!
Not a real fan of MM products but I liked the Heart Release, also OF barrel proof rye and OGD 16 were 2 of my favorites this year. Never found the JD or the MM Cellar Aged . Cheers 👍🥃
I get that from bookers But to be fair eagle rare is a 30 dollar bourbon lol with the hype around it you’d think it’s game changing but it’s just a decent bourbon
Again everyone is different with what they like and don’t like. I’ll have to disagree with you on these bottles have most of these and really enjoy them. I am a rye fan and a wheated whiskey guy so that could be the difference. I personally haven’t had a bad Makers yet same with Old Forester. Hopefully you choose the whiskey you enjoy.🥃🥃🥃

Dude I appreciate it more than you know. Thanks for watching! I’m glad you love the cellar aged, it’s just not my jam.

Interesting…..
I need to try that old overholt
I loved Old Forester BS Rye. But I also love wheat grass so take my comment with a grain of salt.
lol WHEAT GRASS
That’s exactly what it tasted like
I also truly disliked the Heart Release, but I was more disappointed with the HH Grain to Glass, both Straight and Wheated. Just not good and nowhere near worth the price. I stayed away from the grain to glass for that exact reason. I had people telling me it was meh, so I’m glad I dogged it!
Hey man love your vids keep up the great work!!
Thanks buddy I appreciate it!

Don’t waste your money on it. Literally you’re better off with a makers mark 101
I really like the MM Heart. Just had some last night and was kind of sad I probably won't find any more. Great reviews, keep up the good work.
Thanks for watching and I’m glad you like the heart release I wish I did!

I love of ryes, however this is my first barrel proof, but man it’s just not great. I wish it was
Love grass! Send me the OF! Jk. That’s a great pour for me usually. Love your channel!
Hahahaha
I appreciate it very much!
haha! I'm a huge Makers fan, so we'll agree to disagree there. Different palate I suppose. Good video, love watching your content.

Regular Makers is average. But I'm quite impressed with the 46 French oak
@@bertblue9683 agree there! 46 is great. Try the cask strength. And finally, I’ll always buy the store pics. They’re all great!

I wish it coulda been me 🤣
Agree on the Old Forester. Not impressed.
What are your thoughts regarding Old Grandad 16 vs the Hardin's Creek series?
I have not had any Hardin’s creek yet, I’m gonna have to get my hands on one
you messed up not buying makers mark lost recipe series, its delicious!
I couldn’t land any LE’s this year but only disappointment on my end was a hot 1792 FP store pick
Those are SO hit or miss
@ it opened up a little bit but doesn’t compare to my barrel proof Jack
Luckily taste is subjective.
Absolutely is
I speak for no one but me
Man, I loved Makers BEP as well. Wish I had bought a backup.
Me too man, me too
I’m most disappointed about all the Special Releases I can’t even see to make a choice if I want to buy it. Hahaha
🤣

You’re not missing out on cellar aged to be honest. It’s so mediocre.
Luckily my disappointment was not expensive, JE Pepper decanter bottle. Saw lots of good reviews on early batch, my batch 42 is decidedly "meh".
I liked mine a lot but I heard a lot of mixed stuff on them from arch to batch
Dang i almost bought that old foresters single barrel barrel proof rye 😂😂😂 and i do like rye...I will try to find a sample though
They vary so much dude, just go for it.
They are gonna be so different
Pendleton midnight was a bottle I tried in 2024 and it was awful. Runner up.... Jim beam rye.
I have not had either
Send me that OF Rye lol, let’s work out a trade!
Shoot me a message on IG
Eagle rare & bookers - for some reason, I had high expectations, and they just didn't deliver...
I get that from bookers
But to be fair eagle rare is a 30 dollar bourbon lol with the hype around it you’d think it’s game changing but it’s just a decent bourbon

Of course we’re all different! That’s the fun of it. I’m so glad you liked them!
Name your price and I’ll take a couple of those off your hands 😜
Hahahaha
I regret trading away my RR13 because I didn’t like it, idk if I’d feel the same getting rid of the MMCA
Great video Brad 🎉🎉🎉
That really sucks because my OFSBBPR is amazing!
That’s what I keep hearing, it’s a bummer
