  • After walking all day enjoying the weather and scenery, but not conecting with many fish, I decided to stop at one of the roadside pools on my way home and test it with a dry fly.

Cracker mate, put up a good fight too. Loving the videos, just waiting on the river level to drop on my local! Another nearby starts next weekend, these clips are keeping me going while I wait! Cheers

Hi Davie, It's good to hear from you again. I'm glad you are enjoying the videos. Comments like yours make all the mucking about with filming and editing worthwhile. I'm having the opposite issues here. The rivers are getting very low and too warm due to a lack of rain. I'm going to stop fishing until the water temperatures drop a bit for the sake of the fish. We still have five months of the season to run, and then most of the rivers are closed for trout fishing for three months. This gives them a break from the likes of me during spawning. There are a few sections of some rivers and the odd lakes that remain open all year for those seriously afflicted, like myself 😄. Good luck with your new season, I'm looking forward to your videos.

@TroutSoloNZ Editing can become a pain! Still trying to become better at that, tried a few different ones, what do you use?

I just recently changed from CapCut to DaVinci Resolve. It has been a steep learning curve, but I'm getting the hang of it now. Both are free, but CapCut was slowly reducing the menus in the free version to the point where it became unusable. I was going to get the paid version, but it was an annual subscription and very expensive. DaVinci Resolve is a far more professional editor, and I often need to pause and learn how to use some features with some TH-cam tutorials. I'm glad I changed.
