He's actually really smart for wanting to go there to see things for himself because not only would it increase his knowledge, but also, it puts the ball in the court of the Middle East to prove whether the stories and rumors (and/or propaganda) that he's heard about that region is true or not. Also, his safety would be guaranteed because if anything bad were to happen to him during the trip it would only strengthen biases against that region while also confirming a lot of negative assumptions and thoughts that people have about the Middle East. Therefore, him going there in person would be an absolute win either way.

I don't know what "normies" are you talking about, but he clearly was talking about people, not some group. He literally said "people". Many people are suffering from this conflict, including Palestinian Christians, which obviously do not share the Sharia ideology. Also justifying mass killings by "they want us to be killed" is a shaky road, tbh. There are lots of hateful people who want their enemies dead. The causes of these desires may be different: ideology, envy, offense taken. As long as those desires are not materialized by some explicit acts, no violence is allowed against them. That's how a sane legal system would work. Even death threats are never coped by death penalties in any civilized country. Doesn't mean you wouldn't work with those people, wouldn't educate them, but that's another story.

Asmongold is one of those mysterious and inscrutable internet entities that I know is popular, but I cannot for the life of me recognize the appeal. He doesn't strike me as funny or talented or insightful. He sided with Pokimane against ItsAGundam when she tried to go after his sponsor. He over-seasons his ramblings with "like" to the point that I can't stand listening (I gave up on the show today about 10 minutes into the Asmongold segment). Hopefully this is the last of this coverage at least for the daily livestream. I don't mind skipping the stand-alone videos if Craig wants to make them.
He seems more based than he actually is in his youtube clips thanks to his editor. You watch his clips channel and think "wow, this guy is really based" then you tune into his stream and he's just spouting the most basic progressive points. For every one based thing he says (that his editor clips) he says ten more cringe progressive talking points.

I don't think any of us can mock Asmon for living his life online. Everyone watching and everyone hosting is chronically online and way to invested in all of this (myself included). I enjoy this channel but this is one of dozens of channels that all make identical content that is only important online to people who are always online.
Never liked Asmon. Fist time I saw any of his content was him and his community trolling people on a WoW RP server. I mean, sure, you may think role-playing in WoW is cringe, but why do you have to go out of your way to ruin other peoples' fun. Needless to say this absolutely spineless apology hasn't helped to improve my opinion.
I live an extremely similar life to asmon, of a similar age to the fact i have fake teeth just like him, but im not a streamer, hes level 100 on the internet but level 9 in lifeskills and i think he does not accept the fact he has as much freedom as he wants to have to the point he streams because hes nostalgic about the old days with the bois, and with gaming something every now and then will give him that rush, doing effectively life content is "just another day" where as the people who watch, watch other content, as for me, his content served quite a purpose for me cleaning up my room 2 years ago, funny how that works. I dont like to compare as it seems of envy or jealousy, and maybe its fine for me to be jealous in a sense if that is the case (To me i just accept my fate) the fact is, he has contacts and the option to go out and be a human, to do whatever he wants, and i feel he restricts himself because he is either afraid of change, or feels that doing something different leads to believe hes doing something he should not. The only contact i have is my mom, if i were to have friends or anyone to hang with in the real world i would, i would go out and make the connections because that is worth more than anything. Thing is, I dont think im jealous of this in any sense because either i find that 0.001% of people by playing hardcore IRL (and im doing the steps to do that) but the amount of freedom i have doing my own dumb stuff, being silly with myself in the real world, and the only person who would care about me being too dumb is my mom, its both a blessing and a curse as my mom would need to pick up the pieces. and i dont want that tbh. It's not what he said, but rather how he said it, that was foolish. It's disappointing to see him submit as he did in the live-streamed conversation with Hasan Piker, conceding to every stupid point and following it with a clichéd TH-cam apology video. He owns an organization called OTK, which includes many of his close friends and other content creators. Additionally, he owns a custom PC company and is associated with several indie game shows and developers. I won't pretend that his situation is as trivial as irritating a few 'woke' individuals. He has sparked a substantial issue that goes beyond himself, and he probably thinks that he needs to be considerate of the people linked to him. The logic of "the internet doesn't need you, so just quit" presented in this show could be applied to any of the three hosts. So, when the next wave of backlash hits you or your close friends within this internet community, will you simply walk away? I also want to clarify that when Craig labeled Asmon's TH-cam channel as simply reactionary content, I harbored no ill feelings towards it, but that's essentially what Sidescrollers represents. I believe Asmon's TH-cam channel mainly showcases content edited from his Twitch channel, his primary platform for content creation. It's there that he hosts a variety of original shows, such as providing financial support to indie developers.
I gotta disagree with you here. Asmongold's TH-cam channel IS 95% reactionary content. We can play semantics all day and say podcasts are somehow the same thing but the reality is that Asmon is a reactionary and has been for a long time now. His discussions are short and his chat hardly provides proper engagement aside from the occasional pushback. His channel is nothing but edited clips and occasional edited gameplay videos. If you actually watched his channel, you'd know that his editor puts more effort into the topics than what Asmon does. Sometimes that effort amounts to actual research and proper corrections to the information he's reacting to but Asmongold himself just states his opinion, justifies it and then doubles down on it for either the bit or genuinely. It's why his reputation is always in flux. But to say everyone else like Side Scrollers is the same is wildly inaccurate

He's continuously doing full game playthroughs with follow up reviews, plays sponsored games for the purpose of feedback and has episodes with interviews for game creators (Ashes of creation for example). The youtube react stuff is just easy money for him in addition to everything else that he's doing.

I can see why you say that, and it's especially ironic for him since he preached about never apologizing online and then did the opposite. It gives off a strong impression that he folded only because a large part of his identity has been taken from him by the suspension and he's in a panic, that's why he apologized. And by doing so, he seemed inauthentic to the values he told his audience he held, which is one of the big do-nots of online personalities. The only time I think he can do this 180 turn without being inconsistent, is if he truly meant that he regretted saying the things he did and he would then prove it by fundamentally changing his views after this, but it seems like a tall order.

I think Asmond got caught up in the daily cycle of commenting on everything and let his thoughts run carelessly and now has to do backtracking. On the one hand I don't blame him because the internet has become that. Everyone constantly reacting to every damned thing. But on the other he was a little broad on his opinion there and didn't think about it too deeply. He should have stuck to gaming content instead of geo politics. When he comes back from his suspension I hope he sticks to what he knows.

Maybe I’m wrong but something I’ve noticed about whole thing is repetitive things that are said online like apologies and self reflective words are kind of automatically dehumanized even when it’s meant as a genuine thing but I also understand why that’s the case.
Genie Plus wasn't front of the line to be fair. It would only let you schedule times for rides where you'd go into a different line, and you could basically only jump like 6 lines in a day.
Asmon posted a video recently explaining why he is the way that he is if anyone is interested. He basically tells his life story. I've honestly thought Asmon had gotten pretty based in the last year or so, and now this seems like he's been made to think that was all wrong.
I think Asmongold was told to make his original statement more vague... in order to remove the spotlight from Hamas. And apologize in such a way that would paint himself as someone not worthy of listening to.

To help clarifying the point on apologizing, Asmongold said to never apologize if you feel like you've done nothing wrong. If he feels like he has wronged people in this situation, his previous statement wouldn't apply. As he said it himself, there were plenty of controversies prior to now to which he hasn't apologized, which can attest to this. I'm completely neutral on him, I'm just providing some context.
Truckers losing their jobs to AI is a great point. We're replacing the wrong jobs with AI. Let people do jobs that they wanna do. You might find they do a better job than the machines will. I would much rather have a human handling my deliveries.

On several streaming platforms, you can subscribe/join as a member for 'perks' (non-public streams, special emotes, whatever). A portion of the money goes to the creator. You can then sub again for more months, or gift the extra months to other people (specific ones or randomly). A notice shows in chat (unless you pick anonymous) that "So-and-so gifted x memberships. So-and-so gifted person a membership"
Personally I have gone out of my way to mark every channel asmongold is in as "not interested". I don't like how the whole reaction content sucks up resources from the people that are actually making large efforts to generate quality stuff.

An apology means nothing without a change in behavior. So, the purpose of the apology is to cater to the offended party. If there's no change in behavior, then the apology isn't genuine. Do you think behavior would've been changed here, and if so, would that behavior have been changed only publicly but not privately? So, if we want automated vehicles to be practically 100% safe, then people would have to be banned from driving.

yes this is one thing i hate about thes type of things too. they were "temp-banned" or "suspended" which is the proper term of use. i all ways look and only a few ppl get the proper banned treatment. most of these "streamers" get a darn slap on the wrist.
I sometimes watch Asmondgold. Im not a true fan of his content. But he must be reinstated because freedom of speech must be defended. If we as "normal gamers" keep fighting to prevent DEI from ruining the gaming industry. We must also recognize that what he said, even if some people dont agree with his statement, must not be silenced.

Asmongold is one of those mysterious and inscrutable internet entities that I know is popular, but I cannot for the life of me recognize the appeal. He doesn't strike me as funny or talented or insightful. He sided with Pokimane against ItsAGundam when she tried to go after his sponsor. He over-seasons his ramblings with "like" to the point that I can't stand listening (I gave up on the show today about 10 minutes into the Asmongold segment). Hopefully this is the last of this coverage at least for the daily livestream. I don't mind skipping the stand-alone videos if Craig wants to make them.
He seems more based than he actually is in his youtube clips thanks to his editor. You watch his clips channel and think "wow, this guy is really based" then you tune into his stream and he's just spouting the most basic progressive points. For every one based thing he says (that his editor clips) he says ten more cringe progressive talking points.

I live an extremely similar life to asmon, of a similar age to the fact i have fake teeth just like him, but im not a streamer, hes level 100 on the internet but level 9 in lifeskills and i think he does not accept the fact he has as much freedom as he wants to have to the point he streams because hes nostalgic about the old days with the bois, and with gaming something every now and then will give him that rush, doing effectively life content is "just another day" where as the people who watch, watch other content, as for me, his content served quite a purpose for me cleaning up my room 2 years ago, funny how that works.
I dont like to compare as it seems of envy or jealousy, and maybe its fine for me to be jealous in a sense if that is the case (To me i just accept my fate) the fact is, he has contacts and the option to go out and be a human, to do whatever he wants, and i feel he restricts himself because he is either afraid of change, or feels that doing something different leads to believe hes doing something he should not.
The only contact i have is my mom, if i were to have friends or anyone to hang with in the real world i would, i would go out and make the connections because that is worth more than anything.
Thing is, I dont think im jealous of this in any sense because either i find that 0.001% of people by playing hardcore IRL (and im doing the steps to do that) but the amount of freedom i have doing my own dumb stuff, being silly with myself in the real world, and the only person who would care about me being too dumb is my mom, its both a blessing and a curse as my mom would need to pick up the pieces. and i dont want that tbh.

The notion that Asmon should retire just because he has made a lot of money is ridiculous. The comments that led to what some will call his "cancellation" contained some inconvenient truths. It's not what he said, but rather how he said it, that was foolish. It's disappointing to see him submit as he did in the live-streamed conversation with Hasan Piker, conceding to every stupid point and following it with a clichéd TH-cam apology video.
He owns an organization called OTK, which includes many of his close friends and other content creators. Additionally, he owns a custom PC company and is associated with several indie game shows and developers.
I won't pretend that his situation is as trivial as irritating a few 'woke' individuals. He has sparked a substantial issue that goes beyond himself, and he probably thinks that he needs to be considerate of the people linked to him.
The logic of "the internet doesn't need you, so just quit" presented in this show could be applied to any of the three hosts. So, when the next wave of backlash hits you or your close friends within this internet community, will you simply walk away?
I also want to clarify that when Craig labeled Asmon's TH-cam channel as simply reactionary content, I harbored no ill feelings towards it, but that's essentially what Sidescrollers represents. I believe Asmon's TH-cam channel mainly showcases content edited from his Twitch channel, his primary platform for content creation. It's there that he hosts a variety of original shows, such as providing financial support to indie developers.
I gotta disagree with you here. Asmongold's TH-cam channel IS 95% reactionary content. We can play semantics all day and say podcasts are somehow the same thing but the reality is that Asmon is a reactionary and has been for a long time now. His discussions are short and his chat hardly provides proper engagement aside from the occasional pushback. His channel is nothing but edited clips and occasional edited gameplay videos. If you actually watched his channel, you'd know that his editor puts more effort into the topics than what Asmon does. Sometimes that effort amounts to actual research and proper corrections to the information he's reacting to but Asmongold himself just states his opinion, justifies it and then doubles down on it for either the bit or genuinely. It's why his reputation is always in flux. But to say everyone else like Side Scrollers is the same is wildly inaccurate

He's continuously doing full game playthroughs with follow up reviews, plays sponsored games for the purpose of feedback and has episodes with interviews for game creators (Ashes of creation for example). It gives off a strong impression that he folded only because a large part of his identity has been taken from him by the suspension and he's in a panic, that's why he apologized. And by doing so, he seemed inauthentic to the values he told his audience he held, which is one of the big do-nots of online personalities.
The only time I think he can do this 180 turn without being inconsistent, is if he truly meant that he regretted saying the things he did and he would then prove it by fundamentally changing his views after this, but it seems like a tall order.

I think Asmond got caught up in the daily cycle of commenting on everything and let his thoughts run carelessly and now has to do backtracking. To help clarifying the point on apologizing, Asmongold said to never apologize if you feel like you've done nothing wrong. If he feels like he has wronged people in this situation, his previous statement wouldn't apply. As he said it himself, there were plenty of controversies prior to now to which he hasn't apologized, which can attest to this.

On several streaming platforms, you can subscribe/join as a member for 'perks' (non-public streams, special emotes, whatever). A portion of the money goes to the creator. You can then sub again for more months, or gift the extra months to other people (specific ones or randomly). A notice shows in chat (unless you pick anonymous) that "So-and-so gifted x memberships.
