    I'm constantly amazed at your knowledge. In the videos where you work with your hands, I think about how they sow, harvest, clean, cook pinto beans and mustard greens for your family and to share with others. The same hands that built the pizza oven for a precious daughter. The hands that give and receive loving hugs from sweet Charlotte. The hands that tenderly cared for your parents, and after Christ called them Home, those very hands of yours lovingly built their caskets. In a recent video, it looked like your knuckle was bleeding and it made me think of the love our Heavenly Father has for us and how His hands were scarred for us, provide for us, give unmerited love to us. I have great respect for you, Justin. I imagine your heart and all the work of your hands makes Him smile. God bless you and your precious daughters. God graced them with a wise, hard-working, loving Daddy.

    It is awesome watching real craft work being done by someone again. My mom's dad was very similar to you, Justro. He taught me to lay brick when I was 9, framed, poured and floated a concrete driveway with him when I was 10. Tried teaching me to metal lathe about the same time. Wired a whole house with him when I was 12. Cut and installed a new window into an existing outdoor wall about the same time.
    He was always out in his shop working on something and I truly miss those days of being mentored, though, I spend time in my own shop now when I am not gardening or giving a lesson to a student.
    Thanks for sharing again, brother.

    Great video. I have a question, you talk about grits and corn meal but you never mention corn flour. Is it made on the same mill or is it made some other way? As you can tell I haven't be around milling.

    • @metcalfmills5679
      @metcalfmills5679  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes it is. You just bolt with a finer screen than what this has and you can get the corn flour off before the corn meal. Thanks Steve!

    Did you paint the sifter after you put it all back together? I’m just curious why you did it that way if you did because I would of taken it apart first but would have painted it before I put it back together. I probably won’t make a sifter anytime soon, but I see treasure in what others call trash and have reclaimed many items even before that was trendy. I wanna know if I’ve been painting stuff the hard way all this time!
    Thanks for letting us hang out in your shop with you! I hope we were all well behaved and you let us in again soon to watch you on another project. I even sat on my hands so I wasn’t tempted to touch stuff, but admit that blaster cabinet looked like a fun gadget to get to work!! 😁

    • @metcalfmills5679
      @metcalfmills5679  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did, but only the outside, not below the screens. I guess it just depends on what you are working on Lea. Some things I would paint first.
      I enjoyed having y’all at the shop. I need to clean it up soon. It is fun, just blast away the paint and rust. Thanks Lea!
