Are the Russian Mawashi's legit? They look like a loincloth to me and not like a sturdy piece of equipment that your opponent could grab. Seems to me like a Handicap for any opponent who wants to grab the Mawashi.
One thing I noticed is that compared to Grand Sumo,People here have awfully weak tachiai.Some of the heavier ones almost have no tachiai at all.They just get up.
This is one of the first things that seperates pros from Japan premier league and the rest of the World. This is no compare to the real sumo, but it's also fun to watch the discipline gains popularity.

Абсолютно прав, брат Я не знаю, баг(жульничество) это или фича (разрешено правилами) но японцы во всех играх тут делали фальстарт и судья явно сквозь пальцы на это глядел, более того он с ними заодно походу, и за счёт этого было стартовое преимущество. 体重制限の関係でレスリングからでかいのが相撲に流れてくる傾向があるとか。
欧米の人は体格的にはすごいけど骨格的に重心が上にあって日本人みたいに下にドッシリってタイプじゃないから上体起こされやすいからちっこいの相手じゃないとあまり体格でゴリ押しは出来ないんじゃないかな。
