I was 19. Cordless electric drills had just come out.(1980?) I asked my boss for one, to do aluminum gutter work. "I've got a cordless you can have.", he said. Next a.m., sure enough, he handed me an old "egg beater". He thought himself quite witty. Joke was on him. I used the thing for the next ten years. No charger, no cord. But, if I needed to put one pop rivet, or even several, in a aluminum or copper gutter, it was perfect. Thanks, Boss.
Good stuff. Nice outcome. But for rust of that color and to have nothing break, it most definitely signifies a simulated rust set up. Moreover, there is no corrosion on any thread or crevice where rust typically accumulates with given time. You don't fool me sir. =)
My Grandfather was a carpenter, and he taught me how to be one. When I was little he taught me how to use a hand tools before learning anything about power tools. I will always be thankful for that, because I can appreciate what it was like before electricity was implemented into our daily tools.
My grandfather left me an American-made ax. and I'm keeping it as a very valuable keepsake. I once heard him say that white ash is an optimal choice for the handle of an ax. my grandpa is gone...i always keep it and will restore it someday. thanks for the good video, your tutorial
It doesn't look as good as the original, but if you pass the thickest sandpaper you have to leave grooves in the metal and then pass water with salt over the surface, it will cause rust
Its really impressive, as to how you can transform the hand drill to a virtually brand new piece. As the video progresses, the job looks so simple; its the way you do it; perfect technique and skills. lots of love and respects from INDIA.
I love watching your videos and the perfection you seek every time you are out to restore a dirty and rusty object. I especially love the blue color on this one. Thanks!
Although I think you put the egg beater in acid before to make it look rustier than it was I liked watching the video... It's so calm and kinda "boring", but good to calm down after a stressful day...
Wow that's awesome videos 📷😳😲😎👍🏿📸

Not just "rusty" but UBER RUSTY! Honestly didn't think it could be saved, but you did a fantastic restoration.
What is the process you use to make it look dirty rusty & old?
It doesn't look as good as the original, but if you pass the thickest sandpaper you have to leave grooves in the metal and then pass water with salt over the surface, it will cause rust
😂
He forgot to rust up the inside of the chuck. Never seen something so “rusty” that’s still shiny inside. Lol
Salt or acid, or both combined.
😅

Отличная работа.Есть очень похожая дрель,иногда пользуюсь ей для сверления дерева.
А Вас не смущает целостность зелёной краски на корпусе дрели под таким слоем ржавчины?
