🟥 Why Ferrari would be STUPID to lose Sainz

- Ferrari will make a HUGE mistake if it doesn’t sign Carlos Sainz to a new deal to stay beyond the end of 2024. Sainz wants it, and Ferrari is keen but doesn’t want to commit to a deal that’s long enough, and perhaps lucrative enough, for Sainz.

I'll come back in 2 years when Lew is floundering in a bad Ferrari and Carlos is beating him in points as the #2 at Williams.

Well this video didn't age well seeing that hamilton will come to ferrari
Hahahahha I came here to say this after I saw the headline
I too came here for this...
I miss the reference to a certain white drink produced by female mammals. But yeah, I came to say this as well.
Could backfire on them if Hamilton drops off. They're getting rid of a consistent young driver for an over the hill legend who will cause drama.
Funny thing is... Sainz might actually be the better teammate for Hamilton I suppose... This opinion isn't necessarily out of date yet, but I am guessing we'll never really find out what Sainz would be like on Ferrari with Hamilton.
Through goes Hamilton!!!!
😂
😂😂
😂

😂😂
"Ferrari will make a huge mistake if..."
Ferrari "That's our plan!"
it was!
I mean they signed Lewis instead. Much better then sainz
@@Nikolas.Singletonand why did they need a better driver than Sainz? To take points off each other?
@@cha1riestill is anyone thinking Hamilton will magically make Ferrari capable of making rocketship is delusional. He's also gonna cause a lot of drama with his ego.
@@ronmastrio2798I'm sure Ferrari took that into consideration and feel they can deal with any fallout. Time of course will tell.

Honestly I don't see Sainz staying in Ferrari for the long run. I see him going to Audi . Sainz doesn't want to be #2 he knows that Leclerc is #1 in Ferrari. By goin to Audi I'm sure he will be the #1 driver. Also his Dad ( Senior) has really good ties at Audi. So yea. All points to a good possibility that he can end up at Audi. Albon would be a perfect replacement for him at Ferrari.
Would be cool... Sainz Sr. winning Dakar with Audi, Sainz Jr. winning F1 with Audi
@BillO62thank you, it's nice to see someone who actually understands the sport instead of all the idiots who think Audi is just going to jump out first season and start dominating everyone, these kids have no clue what it takes to be a dominant F1 team they need to stop watching DTS and actually watch some races
@@BillO62 oh yeah definitely, I remember watching all those teams back in the late 90s and 2000s, I always felt sorry for Eddie Irvine when he had to drive that POS Jag he had the worst luck in that thing too, poor Eddie I love that guy
Audi will not succeed in F1… Sainz career would never recover from that decision.
@@kben24 yeah it would be like when Danny Ric moved to Renault from Red Bull and his career tanked, or so many other examples, Damon Hill moving to Jordan for another example, Sainz's career would never recover if he followed that course

Edit: This did not age well at all
Well this is awkward
@@hallodesu oh yea it is
And they picked Lewis Hamilton.
erm
*crickets*
And here we are, a week later, Ferrari signing THE LEWIS HAMILTON
If only this was released a week later... Still feel so sorry for Sainz, he is a great driver and did not deserve the drop from Ferrari (he was the only non-Red Bull driver to win in 2023).
Good lord!!! yeah, he won but not by beating them outright on pace or anything. Rb wasn't competitive that weekend. Dnt put him on a pedestal fr fuck sake
Sainz criminally underrated
I don't understand why Ferrari has to have a #1 and #2 when Leclerc has not overshadowed Sainz in results at all.
It may appear that way based on points, but when it comes to potential, Leclerc has the greater ceiling and is also faster on average than Sainz, especially when the car is to his liking, which it wasn't until the Japan update. By having a #1, they can also prevent some of the events of 2022 from happening again, where Ferrari didn't want to prioritize Leclerc even though he was in a title fight at the beginning of the season, resulting in some lost points with everyone pretty much knowing Leclerc was their best chance at beating Max, not Sainz, as admitted by Horner and others.
@@Thedutchman12 I agree with you when it comes to prioritize, however I don't think it should be Leclerc when Sainz was ahead for most of 2023. I don't think Leclerc lost 2022 because of that.
Here comes the controversial opinion, I do not think Leclerc has that much gap to his ceiling...
Cause that’s how you win championships, classic case in 2007, they’re doing this now so they can develop the car towards Leclerc’s style which is faster
@@Thedutchman12There you have it, We know one has more potential, and one is a great support. Why keep these non existent 1 and 2 away and let them do their job. We already know the obvious and Carlos is a great driver nonetheless.
@@mikasr.5why are you using the word “championships” in the same conversation as “Ferrari”? They will not win championships for a LONG time. Lots of corrupt old Italians need to leave before that ever happens again.
This aged well
Sainz is needed by Ferrari because he is their entire strategy team most races. Carlos is the only person in Ferrari that can make the correct strategy decision.
As sad as that is but its true
ermmm
He's Ferraris best race engineer in decades
I thought it was interesting seeing sainz sr. at Audi again this Dakar and I wonder how many conversations he and sainz jr. are having about Audi vs Ferrari in terms of long term potential in F1
Of course. Sainz sr. is a welcome man in Motorsport and his son a great driver. So there are open doors and options.
now he's definitely going Audi 😂
Who’s here after Hamilton signing?
Sainz will leave Ferrari. He's bound to save himself from the madness of their politics. I could see him going to Mercedes when Lewis calls it a day.
Well the seat might be open it seems
Ummmmmm
@@kumaflamewar6524 Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
@@leonardodavinci7196 ummmm
Sainz should be allowed to write his own contract and sign as both parties
Anyone watching after he won Australia??😂😂😂
Crazy how everything changed in just a week
Who came back to this just today 😂
Aged worse than milk
What about if they replace him with Hamilton?
I thought he said in the end "both Sainz's"
This didn’t age well.
There was a reason for the delay
The timing 😂😂😂
There's not enough daylight between them both to make Leclerc number one.
Albon to Mercedes after LH retires would be incredible.
Well this ages well 💀💀
How can he be the "ideal team mate " and "well balanced " when both of thm prefer cars that are at the opposite ends of the spectrum???
This aged like fine milk😂😂
This one didn't age well. It's right about the balance in the team though, that's out the door
Well... this video didn't aged well XD
Ferrari clearly don't agree...
Well… this definitely aged 😂
I found sainz the better driver in 23
Sainz is good but no point in having a driver pairing where one wants an oversteer car & the other understeer. Fundamentally means only 1 driver can perform
Not necessarily the upside being you'll have a better tune car Front and back
@@MrAlex-check RB where max has the car he needs as extremely oversteer and Perez is not performing well because of preferring Understeer but still able to finish as a second in the drivers’ championship. There is literally no need to tune the car for both drivers unless you never want to see a driver championship. Or, just have a driver pairing with similar driving preferences…
@@goksuavdan1145 the problem is neither the front nor back axle, the problem is their turn in's are completely different which is causing the problems you see

Well, that ship has sailed...
The fact that the algorithm showed me this after the Lewis announcement 😂
this aged badly xD
Sainz is more level headed and consistent.
That's easy enough when you're trying to secure p4 or p5. When you have a choice of secure p5 or risk for a podium or a win, you're going to take the risk and hope it pays off.
Leclerc has the speed and talent to take those risks. Maybe the chance of success is very small. But if he's successful it's a great boost for the team.
@irishRocker1 ur right, but if that fails, n this comes from a leclerc fan, sainz is the best person to get those points in consistently. Ur both right.
THIS DID NOT AGE WELL AT ALL 😂
Looks like Ferrari didn't listen to you 😅
This video is too ironic now
They tried to make Carlos the guy but Charles is just faster.

"Lacks final edge"
**Performs more stable throughout a season and currently outperforms Leclerc over and over again**
Sainz is a more reliable and consistent driver. He may not have the same pace but being fast doesn’t win championships.
Ferrari needs Carlos to stay. Currently it is the only thing keeping the team together and also you can't deny the fact that Charles wouldn't have won Singapore. Carlos has that extra champion mindset of thinking about the surrounding while racing and his quali pace problem is also solved considering how close ( 0.054s ) to Charles he is and also faster than Charles in the race. Ferrari can not rely on Charles
You know who else has that mindset, his fellow countryman and inspiration Fernando Alonso. He has adaptability and it's hitting the team hard that the gap between him and Charles is just that close
Carlos has never been and never will be faster than charles in the races, beginning of 2022 when the car suited charles he was on average 8 tenths faster than carlos on race pace, post suzuka 2023 when the car didnt suited both drivers slightly(The upgrade only allowed charles to set the car up to his liking while not taking anything away from carlos)leclerc beat carlos 7-0 and in vegas he was lapping 9 tenths faster per lap and in abu dhabi carlos was nowhere while leclerc was carrying the whole team's burden on his shoulders. The only moments when sainz was faster in the race compared to leclerc were canada and austria(austria is debatable). You cannot say that sainz was faster in singapore since the only reason he won that race was by driving slowly
Well none of this matters cuz carlos will get crushed in 2024
Carlos, in his best shape, can be barely faster than leclerc while leclerc at his best was crashing sainz (2022)
Lol 2024 and So far Carlos has destroyed Charles@@greenfj1466
Aged well
Ferarri needs to keep Carlos Sainz. While Alex Albon, Pierre Gasly, Fernando Alonso, Daniel Ricciardo, or Sergio Perez are probably much cheaper drivers to sign, Carlos is a very strong safety bet.
Sainz should go to Red Bull, Mercedes, or McLaren. Audi is a pathetic joke.
this aged well!
The problem is that you need someone without ambitions, who's still fast enough. Basically you need a Bottas
This comment aged worse than the video itself 😂 not to say you weren't right, but Ferrari and strategy
@@codrutivanescu8119 💯
I didn't really see that one coming.
This aged like milk.
and he's gone
I don’t see a huge difference between Charles and Carlos! In fact, in certain areas, I think Charles falls short. Carlos is a mature head on experienced shoulders. He can be a world champion too. I understand the Leclerc hype train but Carlos is GOOD!
“contractual brinksmanship” meanwhile at mission 44… ☠️
that didnt age well...
If they do t sign him maybe Red Bull does? He has history with RB and they’ll be looking for a driver if Danny Ric doesn’t perform at RB Jr.
Ferrari showing up it's strategic skills 😂
Meanwhile Hamilton: Hold my beer
This aged quickly 😮
Stop calling him Le Clerk 😭 it's a silent c at the end
Sainz can put together where Leclerc falls apart; While over the course of a single lap Leclerc is typically the faster of the two, time and again Leclerc has shown to be a Saturday merchant; and as George Russell shows, that's not a reputation easy to shake.
Leclerc is loyal to Ferrari to a fault, only criticising the team after the damage has been done. Sainz on the other hand is more than willing & able to take his own initiative, and that is something that's needed when having to deal with Ferrari's oft-repeated tactical incompetence.
This is the issue with Ferrari, they are so stubborn and refuse to think about any possible change.
They're so focused on Leclerc being #1 driver even though Sainz was way more consistent in 2023.
Only 6pts was the gap between them at the end.
Its not like the gaps between Alonso and Stroll, Lando and Oscar, Lewis and Gerorge where a #1 driver can be justified
You ignore everything against leclerc and only say words that sounds good for sainz.. add leclerc had 5 non race finishes. Lost more then 3 podiums due to strategy Ferrari or bad luck, drove a car designed for sainz, better race head to head and qualy head to head. And while sainz won a race in the fastest car leclerc should have won a race with the 2nd fastest car
Please don't lose Sainz. It will be a big loss for Ferrari.
That escalated quickly 😅
He sure made Ferrari look like a chump today
Has anyone said "This hasn't aged well" yet?
Ferrari are gonna regret this.
Sainz and albon at Williams. Williams top 5 for the first time in a long time. Would be cool
SPOILER ALERT. ITS HAMILTON!!!!!!!
When the AI writes your script
Well you'll never guess what's happened

…..and now Hamilton will be replacing him.
I think they should try and see if they can get a 7 time champion to sign….,,, you never know what could happen 🤭🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
What if sainz signs with Red bull in 2k25?
Bro they just signed Hamilton 😂
IMO Ferrari does not want to commit long term because I think they want Ollie Bearman in that seat in the next few seasons possibly even next considering how his f2 season goes
the only reason to stay at ferrari is a paycheck. it's not like they're capable of winning
Hamilton: Hey kids💀
Could you imagine the buthurt if Ferrari was like nah Hamilton, we're gonna stay with Sainz.
Think I got recommend this video wayyy too late😂
