Big fan of the Ada Lovelace one, but not too much of a fan of the Morgana design, it’s too superhero-esque for me.
I've got a Lovelace and plain and colourised Star Wars.
I'll get the colour set.

Great video Christopher! Some of these coins are absolutely beautiful. While nothing beats the rush of finding a cool rare coin in the wild, some of the proof coins show off the design in a way that boggles the brain (I was spell bound by the silver proof of the Hawkin's blackhole coin in an antiques shop recently).
I got a recent small haul from the British Antarctic territories (PobJoy)... imagine if our islands minting had half of their imagination when it comes to concepts and design! Their £2 of the planets and the constellations and the various designs around conservation... unbelievably cool. The nasa moon south pole 50p is easily my favourite new piece in our modest collection.
They should release doctor who edition coins for the shows 60th anniversary
I have collected so many coins I can't remember which ones I have at times 😄 ,still waiting for my coins Christopher 😉🍁 take care.

I have and mine has an error, the privy mark on the obverse is missing
My favorite was the Ada Lovelace coin. Interesting to read about her background. I also picked up the coin from the Royal Mint.
The phrase "too much" cannot appear in the same sentence as "spent money on coins." Next question?
I also noticed the royal mint capsules come slightly un-done or not completely tightened, I wonder if there is a reason for this? Perhaps not to trap air containing moisture within the capsule so it can "breath" somewhat.
Was dissapointed to see the star wars 50p silver proofs coming in colour only, I really would like a traditional proof option.

The Coronation Sovereign is very nice. I managed to get the Jubilee (proof), Memorial (proof), SOTD Coronation (BU) and the Coronation (proof). Pretty happy with that set.
I paid £54 pre ordered for that strike on the day coronation coin.
Might as well have got the 2018 Issac Newton for £35 and that now!

Nice additions to your collection! I signed up for the colorized Star Wars 50p series and have received the first one (I live in the States). I'm thrilled they decided to do this as it will draw interest from across the pond!

They say having coins in a plastic holder tarnishes the coins over time . .All the royal mint coins have plastic around them.will they tarnish as well
It depends on the type of plastic I think. The coin capsules and packaging the Royal Mint use are fine I believe. Bear in mind that silver coins will tarnish over time no matter how they are packaged.
The Gold Sovereign. Classic design. I couldn’t see the crest on the small coin very well.

Thanks for showing us your new purchases. Im obviously too tired though, its 3am as I watch this, and at first I got the Morgan Le Fey and the Ada Lovelace muddled up and thought the former coin with its rather 'thrusting' image was a tribute to Linda Lovelace😀. Some of these coins are far too tacky for my (rather senior taste), and I hope that Christopher's exposure to more historic coins at his work place, will widen his palette as he gets older.........

I also bought the Windrush in both coloured and normal designs prefer the normal one as the other has too much colour on it. Also bought the NHS coin as I am a collector of most (but not all) 50p coins.

My NHS silver coin was numbered over 2500 even though I brought it 30 mins after release and 12 hours later it was still showing as available to buy so they didn’t sell very quickly
usually, low numbers from 1-10 can sell for more. westminster finally sent my Ada Lovelace today, over 2 weeks after it was released. i got a new interesting drink today called Liquid Death - Severed Lime flavor with skulls on the can.
Great video, but most of these are not for me. I think I must be getting old-fashioned as I get older.

In 60 years time your collection of RM modern coins would be sold off in online auction such as Saleroom as a single lot not much more than face value. I've seen it many times. Its the pleasure of owning and collecting the lower end modern stuff but anyone thinking of investing and turning their hobby into a profit need to seek out the high end and potentially rarer in demand coins.

An excellent heist this month CC. As long as you can afford to pay the bills and feed yourself, you have not spent to much money on coins. :) Although I did 'splash' out a little this last month myself. Spent three times my usual £50 budget.
Got myself my oldest almost uncirculated coin, an 1821 farthing, George IV. Lovely and chunky coin for small denomination. Britannia's lion at her feet in the background is a thrilling surprise when you spot it. Also filled out a few more BU QEII pre-decimals for my affordable 'complete' date run.
I got new king Charles 2023 coin today

They don't stock brand new coins from the mint they buy peoples collections, so most likely not in stock a these are all new release coins.

Not a fan of The Police? I’m sorry Sir but you are wrong. But I will still check out your uploads. The plain version may be tough to identify the band, but the coloured version screams The Police.
Ada Lovelace wrote programs for Charles Babbage’s difference engine. A machine that didn’t exist. If Babbage had of built it it would have been programmed with punch cards. Ada is considered the first computer programmer.

It's a real pity they put the words ''Star Wars'' on those coins... it cheapens them for me, the image alone would be better. Something about the words of a commercial enterprise or franchise, makes me associate this as a token rather than a coin. Cheap. That's my thought.
