US locals need to have skills + capacity (volume of resources) + capital to produce locally + finally pollution due to local production. Finished product cost will be high - will the local consumer pay more for what was earlier cheaper (when imported earlier).
Poor US strategy - either full throttle - i.e. full outsourcing vs full local production. Isnt there a better collaboration with foreign countries to still be collaborative. US needs to know they cant live alone in this world. This is an interconnected world - no one can live alone on their own. They need to collaborate - make others win too. Leadership is in making others/countries win and work with them for less me vs together we win
