The lockdown has definitely made it challenging to create new and interesting topics for my channel but I believe that things will open up next week. I have experienced loneliness over the years in Taiwan and whether your single or married to a local. We are always going to miss family from our own countries. The power plant was always a sore spot for me when I lived in Taichung. I hope something golden comes out of your recent change in life brother.
In fact, Taiwan’s aborigines usually divide them into two categories: mountain aborigines and flat aborigines. One time my student told me Hokkaido was bigger than Taiwan and I couldn't believe it at first until I looked closer at a map. Taiwan is such an amazing country with lots of great accomplishments despite it's small land mass.
2:52 UN resolution 2758 only determined Taiwan shouldn't hold the seat of China.(Chiang Kai Shek was expelled from that seat). It didn't say Taiwan belongs to China.
More specifically, the People's Republic of China is recognised as the only representative of China and representatives of Republic of China would be removed from the UN.
I’m Taiwanese living in Sydney, Australia. We are in our 4th week of level 4 lockdown, so I know how you feel. Given around 100 confirmed cases every day, I honestly don’t know when this lockdown will end in NSW.😢

I empathize so much with how you're feeling from the lockdown. But remember, when much of us (around the world) went through the initial outbreak & lockdowns last year, there was no vaccine yet, little knowledge about the virus, little knowledge about treatment options for the infected. With Taiwan having this happen a year later they have an advantage. Even if the vaccine supply is still not enough, they at least exist now and can be distributed, and there is more knowledge various treatment options known. So I'm very hopeful that Taiwan's situation will not be as bad, added to the fact they are already much better at handling outbreaks than many other countries. Hang in there!!
Although not a vegetarian myself, but I think Taiwan is the most vegetarian and vegan-friendly nation in the whole world. It's so easy to enjoy a vegetarian/vegan meal anywhere in Taiwan, and the variety and taste are superb.

The 9th point is extremely important. Taiwan is still a highly polluted island, especially in Taichung, the big city supposed to be the most suitable to live in, kind of ironic. Taiwan is less than ideal in many ways; some issues are tricky as well. I am Taiwanese.
Totally get the point about loneliness. You'll become close friends with a bunch of Westerners through work or other new social circles, and after a few years they'll move back home while you've decided to stay long term. Then it's harder to make new friends because you're not having the same formative experiences of "discovering" Taiwan anymore, or you're hesitant because you think "why bother getting close when they're moving away in a few years anyway." 我蠻建議你可以拍攝疫情下，台灣百姓還是騎車機車為生活努力賺錢為了養家的毅力，還有，因為大家少外出，臺灣許大自然的動植物都開始有機會回到乾淨的生活環境，這也是疫情下一個很棒的佳音，因為我們人類搶了它們生活空間，還有，類似淡水夕陽西下美景，空曠人少，只要不在警戒範圍內，不違規，都還有是可以拍出～美麗的臺灣。我想臺灣的三級疫情，並沒有將人關在家中，而是要懂得避開危險區域而已，如酒吧...😇

第11點，台灣是全世界唯一，可以融入最多宗教的國家。我發現介紹台灣的外國朋友，很多人都知道台灣是很多民族融合在一起的國家，卻沒注意到台灣也是一個宗教多元的國家，這是台灣人民素養的基礎。

Sorry to hear about your life changes due to the pandemic. Mine has changed drastically too but I am trying to be happy. You need something to look forward to. For me...that is a trip I have planned for 4-5 weeks in Taiwan in Feb/Mar...assuming the lockdown ends and TW opens up again to Foreign tourists. I am planning a few days in Taichung just to meet you & Prozzie. My treat, of course.

Being not a well-recognized country has severely affected Taiwan's participation in all sorts of critical situations, UN, WHO.... We cannot even use Taiwan as our official name in Olympic Games. I'm really shocked that Allan said we don't care what the world thinks of Taiwan. No, we care and we absolutely need to be embraced lawfully with the name of Taiwan, an independent, great, and beautiful country.
Of course I care but if it comes to crying about it or having a stiff upper lip and rising above the petty politics and countries pandering to China then I choose to be British about the whole thing and let them get on with their childishness

It is different between regime and country.
Totally get the point about loneliness. You'll become close friends with a bunch of Westerners through work or other new social circles, and after a few years they'll move back home while you've decided to stay long term. Then it's harder to make new friends because you're not having the same formative experiences of "discovering" Taiwan anymore, or you're hesitant because you think "why bother getting close when they're moving away in a few years anyway."
