This is unbelievable. I have worked with a lot of concrete in my life, but never imagined that something like this could be done. I left the field 6 years ago to become a Vocational Teacher. I show my students your videos. When they see someone in the trade not afraid to show/teach the world how to do something, it speaks volumes. I love your videos and how you explain everything that your doing, and also add the materials that you're using in the comments. And lastly, it's great that you have your daughter and her friend working for you. I have a few girls in my program, and when they see a girl doing a "guys job" it let's them remember that they can do everything that the boys do in the shop.
I'm retired concrete, put in 30 years. I did it all- commercial, industrial, residential. Schools, parks, parking lots, pool decks, homes, etc. All types of finishes- broom, salt, rubber float, stamped, stained, on & on. When i first saw this i thot "wtf?" But- after seeing finished product i say you really got something there. You should be proud.
Mike I've seen a lot of different jobs like your self bu that one is fantastic never seen anything like that before the possibilities are end less pure class mate well done another string to your bow 👍👍👍😎😎😎😎
That’s fantastic! You just opened another door in my creative mind. How did you do the stencils? Did you work with a vinyl company and have them scale it? Love your work!
Amazing work!! I've got several questions Mike. Looks like you cut the stencil with a CNC machine. Or did use a jig saw to cut them out? And how it the world did you scale it???
Like a few other people, I’m really curious about how you scaled that. Did you work with an artist or a surveyor or something? That really came out nice!
We worked with an architect who produced the design from a CAD file. Then a sign company used an Esko I-Cut table (digital cutting table) with a camera to cut the stencils out of a product called Hartco 535 sandblast mask. Each sheet was about 4' x 4' and had an adhesive on one side. They were all coded so they could be laid out correctly. Once laid out a guy came in to lightly soda blast the entire area, then we came and did out thing.
Really great work, always. On another subject my concrete 30 thousand concrete pool in leaking faster than my spring can keep up with the leak. Do you think I should or could fix it by sealing it with vinyl Ester or just pour another 4 yards on concrete in the bottom where the Crack would be sealed with that ? Those are my 2 choices I've come up with I could do
Sorry, I'm not 100% sure which way would work best without being there to take a look. What if the new concrete cracks also? Are you going to drain the pool, seal the crack, then pour new concrete?
A lot of times on broom finish it's the next day. Unless it's really hot out, I come back and saw after brooming probably 4 to 5 hours after brooming the surface.
Nice ! I like stains,.....I hate to see plain slabs or covering beautiful concrete with carpet or tiles...….more houses need stamped stained concrete finished floors...…..Keep up the vids !

If I mix it thin then use a hose to speed out. Would that give me a nice fade away look or just wash it all off?
Thanks

Neat work.. Looks great.. 👍
How long that will last?
Thank you! It should last a very long time.
Did you use anything to protect the stain from the elements
This is a stain and sealer combination. But it can be sealed over to give it extra protection.
@@MikeDayConcrete Got you
how soon do you soft cut saw your broom concrete ??
A lot of times on broom finish it's the next day. Unless it's really hot out, I come back and saw after brooming probably 4 to 5 hours after brooming the surface.
How will it stay blue with the sun.
